Good food and a comfortable atmosphere.
We went for our anniversary Friday night and had the 5 course chef's experience with wine. It was absolutely amazing, a must try!!! Some of the best food I have ever ate, and I am a huge foodie. Our server Sara was an absolute pleasure and was extremely knowledgeable about the food she was serving. Such a wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
A must when visiting St. Augustine. Never disaapoints.
Everything was wonderful. The service was great. The restaurant had excellent Covid protocols in place. Overall a great evening.
Great place for special occasions very pricey but worth it. Mike our waiter was very nice, attentive. The food was well balanced at tasted great wife loved her fish but did not care foe the asparagus with the red pepper sauce
The 3 course meal was excellent. Kelly, our server, was right on with every thing. This was a memorable experience.
TJ was a great waiter. Made our dining enjoyable and recommendations were good
Everything was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed everything about our dinner and experience
Food was excellent, the only negative we found was for the amount of money it was, we were in and out in less than 40 minutes. Would have liked to spend a little more time to enjoy.
Had an overall fine experience at Michael’s but not fantastic. We were expecting a really great dinner based on other reviews. We waited a long time outside before being greeted. As such, my husband went inside to use the restroom before we found a hostess. A waiter came out and ask if I had a reservation, I told him we did and gave my husbands name. He then turned to the couple behind me to tell them my table was almost ready. The husband said that I was first. The same thing happened when the hostess finally appeared. I don’t understand why the staff at this restaurant kept addressing this other man who was clearly not with me (was standing with another woman over 6 feet away) as if he was my husband. It was a little strange. They took our temperature, and finally seated us. They then served us olives and almonds instead of bread. I liked the almonds. We had poke tacos, plantain bon bons, and beef tartare from the appetizers. I really enjoyed the plantain bon bons and the poke had great spice to it. The beef tartar was served with too few chips and we had to ask for crostinis to finish the dish. We had salmon Wellington for dinner which was very unique and the fish was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the tres leches cake which was pretty good as well. Overall a decent meal but not quite as great as we were expecting from reviews.
By far one of the best places in Saint Augustine. We tried the 5 course meal for our anniversary and it was outstanding. We’ve been here several times and always recommend to our friends. Everything is always cooked to perfection and you can see the attention to detail in every plate. Love the Salmon Wellington.
Great ambience and excellent food! We’ll definitely be back!
First time diners. Jeremy was a great server - friendly and attentive. The place is well decorated, smelled and looked super clean and everyone we interacted with was friendly. Ordered the mushroom bruschetta. About one and a quarter cup of bruschetta with two and two finger length, thin slices of grilled bread...not enough to eat with the bruschetta even in you piled it high. Jeremy did notice that and brought us a cute little neatly tied package of 5 small 1.5 square inch slices of toasted bread which helped. It had decent flavor although a little burnt tasting. More mushrooms than cheese and the cheese was on the bottom with the mushrooms layered on top. We ordered salads - beet and Caesar. Beet was surprisingly tasteless. Both were fresh. We ordered the scallops and ribeye. Ribeye had good flavor, but came with a bone. It was over cooked from what was ordered and was as tough as leather and super gristly. Despite that, we took the leftovers...and confirmed the same at lunch the next day. $60 of inedible gristle. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The passion fruit aioli tasted like mayonnaise with some fruit sauce. These items along with 4 drinks came to just under $180. We eat out a lot and have traveled the world. We concluded that it was not a $180 meal and we likely won’t return.
Ambiance, service, and appetizers were all excellent. However, when I'm paying $40-$65 for a steak I expect much more than I received. My steak was tough and full of gristle, not at all what I expect from an upscale steak house.
Such a charming place inside and out. The wait staff was very professional and attentive from the first moment we arrived. The mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta appetizer was fantastic! We ordered one salad and the staff split it into two plates for us with a beautiful presentation. My man’s filet was perfect and the seared scallops I ordered were perfect. Thank you for making our evening with you a highlight of our weekend in St. Augustine!
Wonderful food and service!
Amazing dinner for my bday! Everything was fantastic! Amazing drinks and amazing food!
Incredible service. Always amazing cuisine and ambiance. Our FAVORITE in St Augustine.
The Mushroom bruschetta is a must. And a glass or bottle from the extensive wine list. The entrees were very good, but not outstanding. My husband felt his steak was slightly undercooked, and though I found the swordfish to be perfect, both of our sides were only good. Great attention to COVID details, such as constantly cleaning, masks, etc. I would probably go back, but eat more appetizers, and fewer entrees.
Michael’s was outstanding! I come to St. Augustine every Labor Day weekend to visit my uncle. This was my first time at Michael’s and the service and food were on point. I will definitely come back!
Food was outstanding! Great service and ambiance! The Salmon was to die for!!😋
Nice place to celebrate a special occasion. The wait staff was excellent!
Wow! Amazing food. Exceptional wait staff and very accommodating. Cannot recommend this place enough!
We’ve heard good things about Michael’s in Saint Augustine, so decided to go on our anniversary. The restaurant did not disappoint. While it does carry a slightly elevated price point, if you enjoy very good, dry-aged steaks and a good red wine selection, go ahead and treat yourself on special occasions, it is worth it. The crispy Brussels sprouts are out of this world good!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday last night at Michael’s St Augustine. What a stellar experience! We enjoyed a full bodied red blend, Chalk Hill Estate Red, that was delicious. The manchego cheese with dried cherries and marcona almonds was a sweet, salty, and crunchy starter!
Then out came the seacuterie! What a beautiful plate! Clean and mildly briny Malpeque oysters, smoked salmon with caper berries and pickled red onions, octopus with an olive salsa, and white anchovies on toast.
We split the green salad and wondered how we were going to be able to eat our steaks! I got the ribeye with the Oscar topping and my husband got the bone in filet with the blue cheese enhancement. For sides, we had the mousseline potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and the creamed greens. As always, our steaks were perfectly seasoned and prepared. We couldn’t even think about dessert! Kelly was our attentive server.
Thank you, Michael Lugo and staff for a wonderful evening!
Amazing! They are following rigurous safety guidelines, which made us feel really safe. The food and service were phenomenal.
This restaurant never disappoints. Chef owner Michael Lugo is well known in this community for his food and service to locally owned business.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about sitting inside but once I walked in, I was completely comfortable. It's not that big of a restaurant so there weren't very many tables. I had put in our reservation that it was my birthday and I was pleasantly surprised with champagne. I've been to other places where I specifically say it's a special occasion and it's not acknowledged so I really appreciated the gesture. Our server Jason was attentive but also not pushy. We had the mushroom bruschetta as an appetizer and wow!! I had never had anything like that before and it was amazing. The rest of the meal was excellent and we would definitely be back!
My husband and I booked a dinner reservation at Michael’s for our anniversary and had one of the most spectacular meals we’ve ever eaten! We’ve dined at Michael’s before and usually order from their standard menu (his salmon filet is truly amazing), but since this was a special occasion, we thought we’d do something different. We decided to order the 5 course Chef’s Tasting roasted beet salad for me. 2nd course was bone marrow with bacon jam; sautéed crimini mushrooms over fresh burrata for me. 3rd course was stuffed plantains with duck confit for us both. (So good!). 4th course was a dry-aged New York Strip (the hubby is still talking about it); swordfish with roasted Brussels Sprouts for me. 5th course was a fresh take on Bananas Foster which we both devoured! Everything was delicious & the presentation was truly sublime! The Tasting was such a great way to see the Chef’s creativity on display, and to experience new dishes & wines we might never have thought to order (I might have a new favorite go-to bottle of wine, the Archery Summit Pinot Noir had me at hello). I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the stellar service as well. Tiaja (sp?) was our head server and she and the rest of the staff who came by our table were outstanding! Attentive, knowledgeable, and it appeared they genuinely took pride in giving personalized service to all of their guests. Oh, and the value! My husband & I were pleasantly shocked at the bill. This is a must do!
We were for a dining experience that was quiet, had good service, and reasonable prices. We found all thee at St Michael’s.
Excellent food and atmosphere. I would recommend if in the area.
Great service and great food!
The ambience was good. The staff was nice. Food not so much. Celebrating my 28 wedding anniversary! Wanted something special. Decided on the chef experience which was supposed to be a 5 course meal. Needless to say it was 5 tapas plates and not all that tasty. Tiny tiny portions. 2 little oysters , one tiny piece of beef tartar with two potato chips on top, bone marrow with two little toast to spread it on (which was really gross), little piece of beef which I think was supposed to be the steak with one asparagus cut up in it. And this little tiny cake bite ( which was the best part of all). For spending 211.00 on two meals with one glass of wine a piece I was sooo very disappointed! Oh and chef never came out. Hope his experience that evening was better than ours!!
Will never go back! It’s a shame too because the restaurant atmosphere wasn’t too bad. But food not good!
From start to finish, it was amazing food. I had the beef tips with risotto. The flavor and texture were perfect! I highly recommend Michael’s if you’re looking for a first class meal!!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing, and the service outstanding. We had the filet mignon and the short ribs, both were wonderful. Our server and the manager were attentive and professional - cannot speak highly enough of them. The tables were appropriately distanced, the whole place was very clean.
Outstanding food and great service!
Wonderful experience, perfect steak !!
Sara was very professional and nice
Thank you for bday dessert
