Loved it. We had a 5:30 reservation. We got there early and they took us. Rustic Italian bread and roasted garlic were delicious. The braised beef bruschetta very flavorful . I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the rack of lamb. We both liked it very much. I expected it to be more expensive than it was. So we were pleasantly surprised. Neither of us had room for dessert. Would definitely return.
The Chefs special 5 Course meal was amazing. Every course was so expertly prepared, delicious and beautifully presented. We reserved our table outside, overlooking the street, so we had that as our entertainment (and some street noise), but the inside looked very nice too. Service was perfect. We look forward to another visit!
We dined at Michael’s the first night of our visit to St Augustine and both of our meals were amazing. We both had the filet...mine with brandy peppercorn sauce and garlic herb butter for my husband. Our steaks were so tender, we could have cut them with the fork alone. We shared a side of the risotto and mousseline potatoes. Both were very good and more than enough for both of us.
For starters, my husband had the harvest salad and he said it was outstanding. I had the chicken empanaditas appetizer. They were delicious.
Our server was attentive without being intrusive and checked on us frequently.
We were too full to even consider dessert. 😁
We will definitely be back on our next trip to St Augustine.
We had a wonderful time. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Thank you.
We really enjoyed this place. Our server was great and the food was very good. Would recommend
The host was very rad. My girlfriend got lit on the Bellini
We had a great dinner with a very caring and professional server. The smoked pork chop was huge and delicious. Perfectly broiled. The dessert selection was not appealing to me (everything had cake in it)...but everything else was excellent.
Interesting and flavorful food in a tasteful and relaxing setting with attentive service.
Best meal in St. Augustine. Really enjoyed everything we ordered. Everything was cooked perfectly. The plantain bon bons were particularly delicious! Took dessert to go and just finished a fabulous chocolate torte and cheesecake. Excellent service as well. COVID precautions in place including spacing between tables, available sanitizer, and staff masked appropriately. Will definitely be back.
Great first experience. It was our 28th anniversary. Glad to see cdc guidance in place.
Very good experience. Excellent food and service.
Steak was superb. Order bread early because they don't automatically bring it. Relaxing atmosphere.
Great service and great food. Our table was ready immediately. Our server was there when we needed her, but also did not hover.
Chef is excellent. Every bite was perfect.
The inside dining area is design as one large rectangular room. It took some time for my wife and I to feel comfortable having a conversation. It isn’t that you are too close to people. The room is just pretty open. Once we got settled in we were fine.
Great place for dinner. Don’t you dare ignore the wine list... :)
The food at Michael's is very good, but overpriced. I could get an equivalent meal at Ruth's Chris for about 20% less. However, the charm of the restaurant is what will bring you back. If you are looking for a unique, upscale dining experience, Michael's is worth a shot. If you just want an outstanding steak, there are better priced options.
Food was good but not exceptional. There was a large, loud table that made the evening unfortunate (no reflection on the restaurant).
Everything was amazing!! We were celebrating our anniversary!! They went out of their way to make everything perfect!! They surprised us with complimentary champagne!! The staff was wonderful!! Based on our servers recommendation, we went with the bacon chili jam glazed pork chop!! It was brilliant and paired well with the bottle of wine we selected, Taken!! Thank you for a perfect night!! We will be back!!
You should try the wine and food pairing. Has some great options.
Good food and a comfortable atmosphere.
We went for our anniversary Friday night and had the 5 course chef's experience with wine. It was absolutely amazing, a must try!!! Some of the best food I have ever ate, and I am a huge foodie. Our server Sara was an absolute pleasure and was extremely knowledgeable about the food she was serving. Such a wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
A must when visiting St. Augustine. Never disaapoints.
Everything was wonderful. The service was great. The restaurant had excellent Covid protocols in place. Overall a great evening.
Great place for special occasions very pricey but worth it. Mike our waiter was very nice, attentive. The food was well balanced at tasted great wife loved her fish but did not care foe the asparagus with the red pepper sauce
The 3 course meal was excellent. Kelly, our server, was right on with every thing. This was a memorable experience.
TJ was a great waiter. Made our dining enjoyable and recommendations were good
Everything was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed everything about our dinner and experience
Food was excellent, the only negative we found was for the amount of money it was, we were in and out in less than 40 minutes. Would have liked to spend a little more time to enjoy.
Had an overall fine experience at Michael’s but not fantastic. We were expecting a really great dinner based on other reviews. We waited a long time outside before being greeted. As such, my husband went inside to use the restroom before we found a hostess. A waiter came out and ask if I had a reservation, I told him we did and gave my husbands name. He then turned to the couple behind me to tell them my table was almost ready. The husband said that I was first. The same thing happened when the hostess finally appeared. I don’t understand why the staff at this restaurant kept addressing this other man who was clearly not with me (was standing with another woman over 6 feet away) as if he was my husband. It was a little strange. They took our temperature, and finally seated us. They then served us olives and almonds instead of bread. I liked the almonds. We had poke tacos, plantain bon bons, and beef tartare from the appetizers. I really enjoyed the plantain bon bons and the poke had great spice to it. The beef tartar was served with too few chips and we had to ask for crostinis to finish the dish. We had salmon Wellington for dinner which was very unique and the fish was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the tres leches cake which was pretty good as well. Overall a decent meal but not quite as great as we were expecting from reviews.
By far one of the best places in Saint Augustine. We tried the 5 course meal for our anniversary and it was outstanding. We’ve been here several times and always recommend to our friends. Everything is always cooked to perfection and you can see the attention to detail in every plate. Love the Salmon Wellington.
Great ambience and excellent food! We’ll definitely be back!
First time diners. Jeremy was a great server - friendly and attentive. The place is well decorated, smelled and looked super clean and everyone we interacted with was friendly. Ordered the mushroom bruschetta. About one and a quarter cup of bruschetta with two and two finger length, thin slices of grilled bread...not enough to eat with the bruschetta even in you piled it high. Jeremy did notice that and brought us a cute little neatly tied package of 5 small 1.5 square inch slices of toasted bread which helped. It had decent flavor although a little burnt tasting. More mushrooms than cheese and the cheese was on the bottom with the mushrooms layered on top. We ordered salads - beet and Caesar. Beet was surprisingly tasteless. Both were fresh. We ordered the scallops and ribeye. Ribeye had good flavor, but came with a bone. It was over cooked from what was ordered and was as tough as leather and super gristly. Despite that, we took the leftovers...and confirmed the same at lunch the next day. $60 of inedible gristle. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The passion fruit aioli tasted like mayonnaise with some fruit sauce. These items along with 4 drinks came to just under $180. We eat out a lot and have traveled the world. We concluded that it was not a $180 meal and we likely won’t return.
Ambiance, service, and appetizers were all excellent. However, when I'm paying $40-$65 for a steak I expect much more than I received. My steak was tough and full of gristle, not at all what I expect from an upscale steak house.
Such a charming place inside and out. The wait staff was very professional and attentive from the first moment we arrived. The mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta appetizer was fantastic! We ordered one salad and the staff split it into two plates for us with a beautiful presentation. My man’s filet was perfect and the seared scallops I ordered were perfect. Thank you for making our evening with you a highlight of our weekend in St. Augustine!
Wonderful food and service!
Amazing dinner for my bday! Everything was fantastic! Amazing drinks and amazing food!
Incredible service. Always amazing cuisine and ambiance. Our FAVORITE in St Augustine.
The Mushroom bruschetta is a must. And a glass or bottle from the extensive wine list. The entrees were very good, but not outstanding. My husband felt his steak was slightly undercooked, and though I found the swordfish to be perfect, both of our sides were only good. Great attention to COVID details, such as constantly cleaning, masks, etc. I would probably go back, but eat more appetizers, and fewer entrees.
Food was outstanding! Great service and ambiance! The Salmon was to die for!!😋
Michael’s was outstanding! I come to St. Augustine every Labor Day weekend to visit my uncle. This was my first time at Michael’s and the service and food were on point. I will definitely come back!
Nice place to celebrate a special occasion. The wait staff was excellent!
