absolutely loved the service and the intimacy of the seating
Michael’s is always fantastic. The best food in Long Beach by far. Our table location this time was less than desirable. The lights were too bright for a nice dining ambiance. There was one waiter (not ours) who was speaking endlessly in a loud Italian voice, which was a bit annoying. Our service was great, and loved the meal.
Great place in Naples. Excellent - food, service, setting, ambiance.
We like Michael’s. The lasagna and octopus were very good. The half chicken was dry and a huge disappointment. Our server was terrific.
Always good food and service. Love the pasta tastings.
Great food and service. What a memorable evening with my wife.
I didn't have to pay the bill but I know the total for three people was very pricey. The menu was interesting, the appetizers and entrees three of us ordered above average and nicely presented. The service was excellent. However, I would only go back for a special occasion because of the cost.
We visited Michael's for my wife's birthday since we just moved to the area. Very high quality - Santa Monica or LA quality but local. Great food & service and excellent ambience. We will definitely return
Excellent service and a superb dining experience. From the time we walked through the door, the bartenders input, to the entire wait staff - all were extraordinary. The handmade in-house pastas were some of the best I’ve had (a very strong comparison to Fiammas in NYC, and restaurants in Rome or Florence). Each of our meals was done to perfection. Truly great stuff!
My boyfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary here and we were both blown away by the service and the taste of the food(we were both nervous because it was our first upscale restaurant). Although, I was expecting a view of the ocean, we had a lovely evening in a comfy pseudo balcony upstairs. We loved the whole experience so much that we are coming back for our second anniversary. Plus, the servers are very professional and welcoming.
From Pete the amazing, friendly bartender to Michelle, our wonderful server, the night was perfect!
Everything was delicious, everyone was welcoming and service excellent!
Love the food!! And he service
There is always something off at Michaels. It’s never a flawless experience. Each time I’ve gone, my steak has been served cold. It’s a real hassle. For a $45 steak, I expect it warm. Appetizers are good, not great. This an Average restaurant with a nice ambiance.
Great experience and yummy food...
Great quality food. Very attentive service.
Rory our server was amazing!! We had the best dining experience we've had in Long Beach period.
Owner, Michael Dene, takes a personal interest in the restaurant and his guests. Our server this evening, Melody, was charming and knowledgeable. She ensured my Osso Buco was ready as ordered.
Paul, our waiter was very professional and attentive. Our needs were met quickly and we were treated like honored guests. The wine recommendation was perfect for our meal and we were given delicious complimentary champagne at the end of the meal. Th portions are small but the quality of the food was great.
I surprised my husband w/a birthday dinner at Michael’s since we’ve never been before, yet have wanted to for a while.
Melody, like the music as she described, greEyed us with a taste of champagne and then we were served a taste from the chef.
Melody then graciously helped us w/our wine selection and entree.
We enjoyed the snails as our appetizer, the beet salad next and then lasagna and osso bucco as our main entrees. Thinking we were ready to ask for our check, Melody surprised my husband with a delicious scoop of pistachio gelato.
Needless to say, we had a delicious and marvelous first experience. The attention from the servers/staff was phenomenal!
We’ll be back!!!!
Michael’s on Naples has always ranked high as a favorite, so it was but a fitting choice for a fond sendoff of the world’s most wonderful mom-in-law. And sure enough, Momma G was in pasta heaven throughout our splendid meal: delighted by the funghi e uovo’s rich blend of roasted mushrooms, soft egg, chicken jus and creamy polenta; enchanted by the aromatic spice of the roasted garlic and the N’duja sausage in its namesake rapini e N’duja pizzette; and rendered completely awestruck by the gnocchi con coda di bue, with unctuous bits of braised oxtail enrobed by small, exquisite pillows of potato gnocchi.
So, thank you, Michael’s on Naples, for a wondrous and magical night.
A special shout-out to the effervescent Michelle, our hostess and also one of the house managers, who presided with uncommon grace and kindness in fêting Momma G as befitting the specialness of the occasion; and to the indefatigable Paul Alan, who animated quiet efficiency with a winning dash of verve and brio.
Love our local Italian restaurant. Food is high quality with pastas made from scratch. And best of all our favorite bartender, Pete, is back from his sabbatical in Europe.
My family and I dined at Michael’s in celebration of my husband’s birthday. The staff was attentive and the food delicious. I had called ahead to request a booth and indicate that this was a special occasion. We were given a booth upon arrival, but no mention of my husband’s birthday ever was made by our server. I chose not to draw attention to it at the time.
One of the better restaurants in Los Angeles County. Always a womderful experience.
As usual, the food was excellent. Our server, Paul was knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. He took his time with our service and really gave us our time to enjoy the evening.
Michael's has been one of our favorite dining spots for years and the roof our new favorite. We ate downstairs and enjoyed the pasta and chef's tasting menus - it is so nice that the table doesn't have to have the same tasting menu. A highlight was the scallop and farro dish - it was excellent! Our cocktails were great and the service wonderful, as usual. The coursing was perfect and we had an enjoyable evening.
We got appatizers size meals on a 5 course menu for $267, way over priced and took about 2.5 hours eat. Would have loved to know before hand that it was tasters only menus.
Went here with my girlfriend for their Valentine's day event. It was a wonderful 5 course meal prix fixe menu. Sadly throughout the meal, they missed our 2nd course and most courses took about 30 mins after each other. We dined in for over 2 hours, which was surprising because we also had a movie to attend to over 2 hours after our actual reservation time at 815. The food was fantastic, but the service didn't do it for me. A manager came by and apologised and discounted our bill, which I was appreciative for, but it was a special Valentine's night that went south..
My girlfriend and I went for 2018 Valentines as a recommendation from two of my Law Enforcement co-workers. We were both extremely excited for a great night out. Well little did we know we absolutely picked the wrong place. The service even with a reservation took forever to get anything. The couple to the right and left of us showed up 15 minutes after us and finished there entire meal (even dessert) before we ever even got our fifth course. The drinks took forever to get and portions were extremely small. We left after our fifth course and had to hunt down the waiter to get our bill. For $265.00 it was absolutely not worth it and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Maybe we just had the misfortune on having a bad experience, but bottom line for that price on that special of a day you would expect a very thing to go right. Very bummed it did not go well.
We go to Michael’s several times a year. Typically, the food is exceptional. Sadly, we took an out-of-town guest on Tuesday, Feb 13 & the food was terrible. We all had the pasta tasting menu. The service was so slow & we were all hungry. Each dish was cold & relatively tasteless. The restaurant was not overly busy. We were very sad because we rely on Michael’s for amazing food. We did not complain because we did’t want our guest to feel uncomfortable. The dinner was business & social. We won’t be back for a while - very disappointed.
Incredible service & awesome food! Definitely dine at this restaurant, if you love food & being catered to...
Atmosphere upstairs was good but noisy. Expected to be open to the outdoors. Everything was closed up but had heat lamps on making it too warm. Waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Scallops were very good but served over tasteless pasta. Pizza was small portion and very salty. Pasta was overpowered with tomato and salty. Beet salad was good, but have had better. For the price not amazing. Probably will not go back.
The food was good, ambiance was just average, menu selection was decent. Overall I would say that I will probably not return, at these prices I was expecting a much better experience. I will say that our server was amazing, very knowledgeable of the menu and wine selection.
Melody Was amazing and provided a knowledgeable, yet comfortable experience. Had a lamb duo and it was incredible. wines were chosen with care and we had a great experience. She also made us laugh our asses off. Great service and great food, beyond impressed. Thank you again Micheal’s Great chefs, as well as Melody and crew for the great experience. Cheers.
Absolutely amazing food- as always. Favorite place in LB
Outstand dining experience. Waiter, runners everyone was on point.
Menu and preparation , taste of all dishes were extraordinary.
We decided to try Michael's on NAples for their dineLA menu. I suppose the idea of dineLA is for businesses to put their best foot forward to make potential customers come in to try. Well this was really disappointing. From the calamari starter on soggy bread to the dry bream, this wasn't worth the $49 they were charging. I would have preferred smaller portions of better quality food than what they were serving.
I intend to try it once more to try the regular menu but after that, I'm no longer trying it again.
Excellent food and wine pairing was wonderful. The pastas are delicious.
Michael’s has excellent food and service. The lasagna is especially delicious!
