Michael's on Naples Ratings and Reviews
Went here with my girlfriend for their Valentine's day event. It was a wonderful 5 course meal prix fixe menu. Sadly throughout the meal, they missed our 2nd course and most courses took about 30 mins after each other. We dined in for over 2 hours, which was surprising because we also had a movie to attend to over 2 hours after our actual reservation time at 815. The food was fantastic, but the service didn't do it for me. A manager came by and apologised and discounted our bill, which I was appreciative for, but it was a special Valentine's night that went south..
My girlfriend and I went for 2018 Valentines as a recommendation from two of my Law Enforcement co-workers. We were both extremely excited for a great night out. Well little did we know we absolutely picked the wrong place. The service even with a reservation took forever to get anything. The couple to the right and left of us showed up 15 minutes after us and finished there entire meal (even dessert) before we ever even got our fifth course. The drinks took forever to get and portions were extremely small. We left after our fifth course and had to hunt down the waiter to get our bill. For $265.00 it was absolutely not worth it and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Maybe we just had the misfortune on having a bad experience, but bottom line for that price on that special of a day you would expect a very thing to go right. Very bummed it did not go well.
We go to Michael’s several times a year. Typically, the food is exceptional. Sadly, we took an out-of-town guest on Tuesday, Feb 13 & the food was terrible. We all had the pasta tasting menu. The service was so slow & we were all hungry. Each dish was cold & relatively tasteless. The restaurant was not overly busy. We were very sad because we rely on Michael’s for amazing food. We did not complain because we did’t want our guest to feel uncomfortable. The dinner was business & social. We won’t be back for a while - very disappointed.
Atmosphere upstairs was good but noisy. Expected to be open to the outdoors. Everything was closed up but had heat lamps on making it too warm. Waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Scallops were very good but served over tasteless pasta. Pizza was small portion and very salty. Pasta was overpowered with tomato and salty. Beet salad was good, but have had better. For the price not amazing. Probably will not go back.
The food was good, ambiance was just average, menu selection was decent. Overall I would say that I will probably not return, at these prices I was expecting a much better experience. I will say that our server was amazing, very knowledgeable of the menu and wine selection.
Melody Was amazing and provided a knowledgeable, yet comfortable experience. Had a lamb duo and it was incredible. wines were chosen with care and we had a great experience. She also made us laugh our asses off. Great service and great food, beyond impressed. Thank you again Micheal’s Great chefs, as well as Melody and crew for the great experience. Cheers.
We decided to try Michael's on NAples for their dineLA menu. I suppose the idea of dineLA is for businesses to put their best foot forward to make potential customers come in to try. Well this was really disappointing. From the calamari starter on soggy bread to the dry bream, this wasn't worth the $49 they were charging. I would have preferred smaller portions of better quality food than what they were serving.
I intend to try it once more to try the regular menu but after that, I'm no longer trying it again.
We've been to Michael's before and we have always be impressed. But this visit was not up to par. We ordered the Chef's tasting menu with wine paring, which we have ordered before but this time the kitchen was just off. The first two courses were just ok and the fish course was overdone, barely warm and somewhat under seasoned. Most dishes came out late so that we didn't have much wine left to pair with the food, twice we had to ask for a little more wine. When the main course came out on time (early?) the wine hadn't been served yet. All of this bad timing made it hard for our server to coordinate the wine paring.
Our server, Kimberly saved the night with her attentive service and good conversation.
We'll return to Michael's because every kitchen has an off night, it's just too bad it was on the night we visited.
From start to finish, the evening at Michael's on Naples was superb. The hostess was most friendly and needed no time to assist us; Our table was ready for us; the service for the entire evening was attentive but never pushy; the food was excellent; the wines and wine service was flawless. We could not have asked for more.
I/we highly recommend Michael's on Naples.
You are greeted like family or friends are, the warmth of the setting includes the professional, helpful and friendly service. I was celebrating a birthday, and was treated to 3 different types of wines and liquer that enhanced our appetizer and entrees. The timing was perfect, and when asked our server structured all courses of our meal to make for an incredible evening.
I've been to Michael's several times. Always excellent. This time, our server, Paul, was particularly excellent. We had a business meal; a lot to cover. The cadence of the service was exactly what we wanted. This restaurant is a terrific place to have dinner if some people are traveling from LA and others from OC. Is one reason I often have business dinners at Michael's. But, the food is excellent and more than reason enough to make a trip from either direction.
We had a horrible time at Michael's on Sunday night.
we ordered the Large T-Bone steak and no one told us it would take an extra 45 minutes for this steak.
When our dinner came, the steak was RAW on the inside and we had to send it back. We paid $160 for that steak.
Plus we had kids with us, and who wants to wait all that time to eat..l.
Pricy and the food was just ok, my husband ordered the whole fish and it was tasteless, if you want to eat here better order pizza or spaghetti..
I also ordered fish with olives tamponade and it feels I’m chewing my food with sand, I asked our waitress and she said that’s how it should be,I felt that my food was not washed before cooking.
$21 for just a simple glass of wine.
The wait for our food was too long..
I’m not coming back to this restaurant not worth the prize, there’s a lot if restaurant around with good food and very reasonable prize..
Excellent service, delish antipasto, good wine list and corkage ($25/Bottle) available. Full bar plenty of entrees to choose from traditional to standards. Try Michael's as a local favorite with authentic Italian cuisine in beautiful Naples. Tasting menu looked interesting but too much food.
Great location. My first time there. I had preselected what I wanted off the menu on the website to only find out none of it is on the menu. It felt like a bittersweet bait and switch. What we did have was ok but not a 'memorable ' meal. The squash and burratta appetizer was flavorless and disappointing. The gnocchi was ok but over cooked so it was gummy. The salad and dessert were good. For a $200 meal for 2 people I was underwhelmed and know of better Italian restaurants in the area.
