My first time there. Great food and excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will return often. Loved the atmosphere too.
Table was reserved as requested; the covered side seating area, while having a couple of gas tower heaters present, left those who weren't right next to the heaters a bit chilly due to the open entryway and open side "door" (gap between seating area and stage). Staff was friendly and attentive. Those who ordered burgers all agreed they were very delicious; the Catch of the Day salmon special was less impressive.
Nice, intimate dining room with a rustic yet elegant feel. Attached to a bar that features live music most nights. Quality of food was outstanding although my hunch is that the service may be a bit slow because the kitchen has to manage the bar as well as the dining room. Overall a great date night for me and the wife.
Terrific food, drinks, and service! We will definitely be back.
everything was excellent bordering on great but we have dined there before and it was as we expected, a real treat
The food was simple but very good and the ambiance was casual and acceptable. A musical group played for 200 people and many had to sit outside. The doors were left open so that the people sitting outside could hear the music. Those of us inside close to the open doors froze, and the performers were also cold.
The music was fabulous but from now on, I won't attend shows until it warms up. Many of us left at intermission which was good for the people sitting outside as they could move inside and close the doors. It was disappointing for those of us too cold to stay.
I have always enjoyed Michael's
great atmosphere. friendly helpful staff
good food, thank you!
Disappointed with the look and vibe. It is no longer the hip and cool fun place it used to be for a delicious dinner and wine list with a lively bar. It’s run down and feels like they barely care. The serving staff had sweatshirts on, jackets inside. Server had zero clue about the food and sauces. Tables had to table clothes or anything and were wet and grime. It was such a great place to go before and it just feels like a tired sports bar now.
After eating, we saw a great live performance. Super-helpful staff, all around.
Music and Dining was a pleasure!
New Year’s Eve. Prime Rib was passable. Nothing special. Our server was a hero. She was so busy trying to cope with I see as medicore management. Details like: not enough cutlery or chairs, too many staff on the floor but unclear roles and responsibilities. Salads being served on giant plates so they look miniscule. She was a champ, I only hope this place figures it out.
I highly recommend Michael's, the service was great as well as the food. Adding a touch of class, live bands and live music are the highlights. The atmosphere is very cozy with a mature crowd. Looking forward to come back.
Waitresses took about 15 minutes or more to take drink order. Then disappeared again for quite a while. Food took even longer to come to our table. I would estimate that the food was on our table 45 minutes after we arrived. Many tables open on a Saturday night but I think there is another room and so maybe that is why the service was so bad? Ambiance could be so much better too! Food turned out to be pretty good. Nothing special but very fresh and tasty. Later in the bar the music was outstanding.
We have been coming here for years and always have a great time. The food and service is good though the offerings for entrees seemed a little scarce. This is a great place to enjoy live music too.
Great thanksgiving meal
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. We were sat in the tap room which had a draft due to openings in the wall slats. Overall, the atmosphere was more like a bar and we were sat right next to a thoroughfare where the waitresses kept walking by without even acknowledging us for about 20 minutes. Finally, a woman came to help us but she wasn't even our server. It wasn't even that busy. Just perhaps understaffed. When the food did arrive, it was surprisingly great. I had the salmon and my mother and husband had the turkey special. Great proportions, great flavorings. The value for the size of our dishes was also spot-on. What do you think
First of all, the signature cocktails were really expensive. I had one, and the glass came half full. Come on. $12.00 for a few sips of an old fashioned?
Very loud, even with only 5 tables full.
Michael and Team,
Thank you for a warm welcoming , entertainment, awesome food and service with a smile! Nice outdoor balcony creek setting, very relaxing but yet still close to the music. Friendly staff.
I loved Incendio as well, uplifting music and open feeling!
See you soon!
Food was excellent, service was very good and music was fantastic.
Good food, great waitress, beautiful night on the patio. Tom Petty cover band played which was an added bonus!!
Four people dined on a night when there was music. We arrived early as we had a 5:30 reservation. We were seated promptly. All our dishes were tasty. The soup was especially good.
The food was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It has a beautiful creekside setting, but the interior needs updating.
We had a young child with us and they were amazingly tolerant and helpful. The staff is great. The food was very good but they had few choices for vegetarians. The vegetables are local and organic, but not the meats. They could improve on the meat by getting sustainably raised. Then I'd have more options.
Enjoyed the food and service was very good, but I wouldn't go back because I wanted a nice dinner, not to dance. Couldn't hear anything, and had to shout to be heard. Don't see why the amp couldn't be turned down a little, or a place set aside that was a little more quiet. Very popular place though--no parking left in the lot!
We decided to try this restaurant as part of the Santa Cruz restaurant week, and are so sorry we did! We each chose a different appetizer, entree and dessert, and they were all fair at best! The risotto that my husband had with his salmon was inedible! I tasted it, and it tasted like glue, just big, hard lump! When the dishes were cleared, the man, who I believe was either the manager or the owner, asked what the problem was, and my husband was honest, and said it was inedible, and the man merely asked if there was another starch he would like the risotto replaced with, but since he had finished the rest of his entree, that didn’t make sense. That was the last we heard from him. While we didn’t expect anything for free, we did expect an apology for inedible food, but no. The waitperson was rushing around like a chicken with her head cut off, the food took forever to get to the table, and the noise level was off the chart, since it was Grateful Sunday - a live band playing Grateful Dead tunes. Several diners sat down, but left before ordering, I’m assuming because of the noise level, but it was the poor quality of the food and the la k of any concern that they had fallen way short that did it for us! We will not return, nor in good conscience can we ever recommend it to anyone...
Great place for dinner and dancing 🌹we love the patios. Vegetarian tacos....yum
Great service and food
Energetic Because of LIVE MUSIC! Wonderful lace for Dancing Food and Entertainment
Pleasant & inviting
Very disappointing that we paid for an expensive dinner including wine and we were not allowed to enter bar area for music. In fact, bouncers were rude and stalking us. He explained that we needed to pay the cover charge. He did not see me go up and pay and came over and told me I had to leave. I showed him my wrist band and he was embarrassed. Ridiculous! Next time, I will go somewhere else for dinner.
Good food and music venue. Staff is friendly, though a bit thinly stretched. Food is fresh and well prepared. Great music venue with decent sized dance floor and a good sound system.
When we arrived the restaurant could not find any reservation for us and did not care that we had a confirmation email. They were not even kind about it and indicated we should wait 30 min. 20 min later we were told the kitchen power was out and our estimated wait time would increase. The hostess was not friendly or kind and we ended up leaving.
We went here for breakfast. Had the eggs benedict, which was very good. The only complaint was that the potatoes were just boiled and cut up. There was no attempt to brown them. Coffee was good.
Loved the music (Grand Larson) and thoroughly enjoyed dining on the deck at the back.
Always a beautiful setting along the creek, friendly staff and yummy food. Will be back again and again.
Total bummer! Used to love this place. The food has really gone downhill. Our waitress was good and eating outside was nice but very disappointed with the food.
To noisy for a holiday not conducive for conversation. Pot smoking to liberally allowed. Not a good place to enjoy their well prepared cuisine.
I expected it to be crowded because of the holiday, so I made a reservation through Open Table. They accommodated us when we had two unexpected guests. I had never been there for brunch before. The food and service was good. Pretty setting that overlooks a wooded area and creek. Very well lit with natural sunlight.
Waited 2hours from the time we got there to receive our dinner and had to get it to go. And we were there at 5:30 on a Saturday night before it got crowded
T have never been to Michael's. Wrong email address.
