Since Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink first opened in the Miami Design District in spring of 2007, diners have come to embrace and crave its refreshing combination of laid-back atmosphere and seriously good food, a neighborhood bistro that is the ultimate showcase for the type of cuisine that chef/owner Michael Schwartz does best – homemade, unpretentious, delectable, with an emphasis on great local ingredients. Bon Appétit Magazine wrote in 2022 "Michael's Genuine is refreshingly approachable yet upscale, offering guests a true neighborhood gem where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy simple, consistently delicious dishes." In 2022 and 2023, the first Florida MICHELIN Guide honored the restaurant with a Bib Gourmand awards.

We went for Sunday brunch before seeing the exhibits at ICA. Thought it seemed the check in was deserted, someone showed up after a little bit. Greeted us warmly, was curious if this was a first time - no for 2 of us. The service was very good, we were not rushed to place our orders, nor pressured to include drinks. The food was just delicious. Like many other places, the burger makes 2 meals for me with the fries. My friend shared her egg on rosti with her mother while her mother enjoyed her choice. Ambiance as relaxed, that is nice.

I arrived early and Michael’s had a table for me just where I wanted it, close enough to hear the live Jazz band and inside enough to be in the air conditioning. Sebastian my server was on point throughout the evening and the food and drinks were exceptional as usual. I tried the pre-fix dinner for two and I was not let down. Another great night thanks to Michael’s! Thank you, until soon! The other Michael…..R.

Michael’s continues to live up to its reputation of being a classic and consistent place to dine in Miami. We had a graduation and the staff were so amazing, giving our guests of honor a card and a sparkler in their desserts. After so many years, this restaurant has never disappointed.

As always food, service and vibes the best in Miami. Been coming to Michael’s since week 2 of opening and it’s still our favorite lunch spot in S Florida!

Fantastic food. Service was great. Our glasses were always full, the waitress was very attentive. Loved the cigar roller for Father’s Day.
