Michaels Downtown is part of the Long Beach family of restaurants that include Michael's on Naples, Michael's Pizzeria, and Chianina Steakhouse.
Great ambiance, great food, great evening!
First time to The area
Perfect place for dinner. Food was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Will definitely return v
Wonderful food, great service.sat at the bar and the chef was delightful
Michael's Downtown has amazing pasta and the service is excellent! It has become one our favorite restaurants and you should try it.
The Executive chef and his staff are incredible and food is amazing.
Great place to go for all occasions
Amazing atmosphere with the hospitality and the food being everything and more than I expected. I will definitely go again.
Great food & great service !!! Definitely my fave Italian spot
Made a reservation but didn’t get a table. Had to sit at the bar. Why bother making a reservation?
I booked a table inside, and they wanted to seat us outside or at the counter.
The pizza had no flavour at all, the quantity of its ingredients was minimal, it was as eating just bread.
The first pizza came burnt, but the restaurant offered to replace it immmediately.
David is always a welcome. My server, Camille, was knowledgeable, attentive and very spirited in presence. Dinner was an extreme pleasure.
Authentic Italian food, their gluten free pizza dough is outstanding, they also have gluten-free pasta.
Was expecting the chicken parm to be amazing. It was bland and not much favor.
Lovely outdoor seating for our group of 7. Nice heaters & firepit table. Food & drinks are great for the price. Service was excellent. Fun outdoor patio!
Michael’s ambiance reminded me of a cafeteria/food court. It wasn’t very warm and welcoming. The servers seem understaffed and overwhelmed. We ordered from the dine LA menu and everything we got was good but not great.
Food was terrific and the service was as well. I definitely will go back.
Nice service and excellent food quality and flavor. Portion sizes were just right for the Dine LA tasting menu.
Jessie was an awesome server. He made sure everything was perfect.
Delicious. Table slightly uncomfortable. Excellent service.
Good experience. Food was great. Parking was ample. Enjoyed myself
I Googled for restaurants close to the hotel my daughter was staying at while attending classes in So Cal. Michael's was one of the top contenders. I was so pleased we went there. They had a lovely Prix Fix menu, with choices of the appetizers, entree, and soup or salad. Absolutely marvelous tastes and flavors. Will be happy to return in the future.
A great experience all around! The food was a wonderful surprise of quality, flavor, and presentation. We live close by, had never stopped there before, but will absolutely be back!
The chef prepares his menu with love and joy. I haven't had a bad meal at this place.
Great service. Food is good. Overall value is great.
The food was good but not as good as Michael ‘s in Naples.
The best Italian food in town. Hands down.
Very good home made Italian Pizza garnish with fresh Ingredients.
I recommend this place to everyone like a real Italian Pizza
Service was not great.
Ran out of Pinot Grigio.
Ran out of Gnocchi.
Didn’t want to substitute pasta instead of salad because everything is already “portioned.”
Really enjoyed everything. So much so we went back to their Naples restaurant the next day. All the pastas were fab and bread with their homemade spicy olive oil is to die for. Have some Nero d' Avola it's a good wine at a great price.
Great service, but food is pricey.
This restaurant was not what I expected, but it turned out to be a nice place. The dining was more casual that we expected, but they were able to easily accommodate our large party of 11. The food was very tasty. I ordered Lasagna which was delicious and filling. Some of our party felt the plates did not offer enough food and were still hungry after dinner, specifically, the short ribs and the ravioli. The service was a bit slow and sketchy at first, but later it picked up and the wait staff was very accommodating. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and my dinner and I would go again. I do compliment the chef on having items on the menu that our vegan friends could eat.
Great service! Great food!
I don't know what more I can add to my review. Food and service was perfect
Michael's downtown is a gem. It's the best well kept secret in town. Or should I keep my mouth shut. I love the monthly special dinners. The chef is fabulous and the menu is very creative, fun and very good in terms of taste and presentation. The price point is also very good. Ignore my comment regarding price. Please don't change it. I love going back once a month.
The gluten free pasta was the best I have ever had!
The pizza and dessert was amazing but the chicken parmigiana was just okey. The serviced was attentive but somewhat missed the mark. We dined at the restaurant many times when this was whist Michael’s Pizza and had better meals in the past. Maybe it’s the off night or the dish we picked was not their best. I suggest to stick with the amazing pizza and offer select pasta dishes.
Quality ingredients, good wine selection, wood burning pizza oven, and fresh produce all contribute to a flavorful meal. Service was very quick and attentive. A good value when you find daily specials and Happy Hour deals. Ask for a patio table if you like it cooler and more relaxed; it gets warm and loud indoors by the kitchen.
Never disappoints, always great food.
Pizza Marinara so watery the dough is transparent. When I grabbed my slice of sausage pizza and it bent in half and the cheese and sausage fell off. My pasta dish was such a tiny amount smaller than my palm and cost
16 dollars wow. No meat. They post fresh pasta etc but it was just ok. On a Friday night it was dead. Will never return. Service was good doesn't make up for mediocre food though.
Service was great, we enjoyed sitting outside. We ordered food mostly from the Happy Hour menu with a few entrees, and our bill seemed kind of high. Fun for an occasional splurge.
