Michael Jordan's Restaurant - Oak Brook
The food was great however the waitress never came back and asked if we would like another drink . My boyfriend and I came there for his birthday dinner and to be honest we were disappointed .
Ambience is great, kind of reminds me of
Morton’s. Service was terrific as were the cocktails, their featured garlic bread and the dessert was phenomenal.
Unfortunately the entree was quite pedestrian which was a shame given how great everything else was
Celebrated my nieces 18th birthday! We had a great time
My fiancé and I were really excited about trying this restaurant for our anniversary, but most of our food was a little to salty, starting with the calamari, mashed potato, sauté spinach, French fries.
Celebrating my wedding anniversary and from the moment we walked in we were greeted by host and sat right away. The waitress was awesome and made a few recommendations on wine and food. Everything was great. My husband and I had a great experience and would definitely go back, we will definitely be requesting Argelia to be our server.
The presentation and quality of food are average. Not what I expected with such a big name.
Value for brunch not as good as competitors near by. A bit disorganized as to how the brunch buffet is presented. For the premium price they should do an omelette station or something made to order.
Deana was a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive server.
Food was pretty good, but terribly overpriced. We sat at the bar, and bartender was our waiter. He worked hard, but there was no way for him to adequately cover the bar area and also make drinks.
Saturday lunch with gal pals, relaxed yet attentive service, delicious spring rolls and fresh salads. Will go back often!
Best steak I have ever had!
The Yelp rating was very low. I guess that the great thing about Yelp. We use it as a guideline and be honest and rate our experience individually. As for me MJ has been a been one of more sports idols although I'm not a huge sport now now. So I book this place on Open Table and adjust the schedule several times with no issues, when I get there I know why. It's a Thursday night so less traffic and I think it's newish to the area. There's some really great places very close by so the place wasn't very busy. All of that to say my experience was excellent through and through. One of the nicest filets I've had prepared perfectly. My only criticism the peppercorns over powered the bourbon, but still tasted excellent . The apps were excellent, I mean what's not to like about bacon that's tender and full of flavor m. How about garlic bread with blue poured over it. Excellent sides better creamed spinach than most places. And the gelato was worth the trip. The thing that I would never want to take advantage of but just shows you how these guys are. They close pretty early at 9 and there was people in the restaurant until 10:30 and they didn't say a word. I was talking and catching up with my friend that I haven't seen in over 10 years and lost track of time. The manager was extremely kind and was just hanging out and waiting and never said a harsh word.
And that my friends is what a great evening and experience is about!!!
Fantastic experience. Came here for anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Not too big, nice seating, and cool vibe. Ordered the garlic bread with bleu cheese fondue sauce to start which is one of our favorites from the downtown MJ steakhouse location. Ordered the steaksmanship series to share for entree. Amazing! 3 very nice cuts cooked to perfection with a great selection of salts and sauces to pair. Definitely a lot of food for 2 people, might be more comfortable to share as 4. Topped the night off with the famous 23 layer chocolate cake. Our server was fantastic, very personable and attentive. Will 100% be back.
The food wasn’t as good as expected. It was super loud as well.
Great birthday dinner I would definitely go back again.
Took my 4 grandsons to dinner. Appreciated that there was a children’s menu available to the youngest who was 5. Boys enjoyed the steak they ordered. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which was slightly overlooked and little burned. Calamari was excellent—boys gobbled it up so quickly we had to order another. Would have enjoyed seeing more MJ memorabilia other than photos. Our server (Tom) was very accommodating and patient with the boys, one of whom spilled his drink. Tom told him not to worry and quickly made things right. Lovely interior.
great place for a birthday. They really made it special! Interesting menu, an upscale take on basic flavors. I had the white fish, which is basically the same dish as one I had at Wildfire a few weeks ago, and it was better here, no question. My son had the pork which was perfectly done. Garlic bread definitely worth the carbs and calories.
Cheeseburgers are the best ever! We also had the nicest waiter named Edgar. Ask for him!
Just not that good and way overpriced.
The food was mediocre and the ambiance underwhelming. The server was good (not great.). I will not be coming back, I’ll be heading to Gibson’s across the street where it’s always top notch.
Overall good. But....if your going to serve “good” wine please have the appropriate glass for the wine type. It would make the experience that much better.
Sides are barely enough for 2.
Not for Easter dinner. They should have posted online that they were only serving brunch menu buffet style. We did not dine there and left. Very disappointed.
I feel bad saying this, but the Easter Buffet was disappointing. The sweet bar was the equivalent of a buffet of Pepperidge Farm cookies, doughnut holes, & microscopic puddings.
The waffle I had was hard & crunchy.
The hot table with savory items was something deserving of Ruby Tuesdays.... chicken wings, dry ravioli, globby mac n cheese, the salmon was dry & boring.
The seafood table was acceptable.
For $59/each.... disappointing!
Liz, Thank you for your review of our Easter Buffet. We value your opinion and will take measures to ensure our next brunch exceeds expectations. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to gather more information. Please call me at your convenience. 630.828.2932 Thank you again. JP General Manager
We have been to MJs several times for dinner and loved it! I didn’t realize when we made this reservation on Easter Sunday that it would be a buffet and not the regular menu, that may have been my oversight. Regardless, I would never select this restaurant for a holiday brunch. The value was quite poor. The main dishes were just okay and the array of options limited for a 59 dollar per person event. The desserts almost seemed like they acquired them from the Costco up the road. We chose the Clubhouse with the intention of having brunch last year and it was amazing for about the same price per person. Lesson learned...MJs for dinner not for a holiday brunch!
We went for the first time for Easter Brunch. The food was OK, but the service was terrible. When we ordered drinks, the waitress either did not bring our drinks and had to be asked a second time or got the order wrong. When we were ready to close out our bill, she was nowhere to be found. Finally, she dropped the bill off and then didn't come back AGAIN. We were so fed up that we took the bill to the host/hostess stand to see if we could pay the bill with them. Magically, the waitress showed up for that encounter. We won't be back and will not recommend to others.
..first visit but not our last...don't get stuck on having a steak...the chicken parm was fantastic...wagu meatballs..yum...wife had seabass..very good..you can get lost looking at all the pictures of mj's life scattered on the walls...the picture in the menu makes you smile..(if you were a bulls fan back then)..rings baby..
Service was very good . Our waiter answered all are questions bout the menu and gave excellent recommendations .
I love this place and the waitress made the birthday boy feel special.
I had told waitress that we needed to leave at a certain time, but we didn’t get until 20min later. Poor service-not sure if waiter or kitchen. Disappointing
Had the 23 layer cake it was dry and not much chocolate, the table presentation was nice and they cut it into slices for us, a nice touch. We also ad a complementary small cake for a birthday, that cake was much better, most and the chocolate gnash was very good. The steak a filet (2 of us had) was good quality but rather small portion for the price point. Our server Derick was great.
We celebrated my son's 18th birthday at Michael Jordan's Restaurant - it was such a great evening, and wonderful meal! Our service was wonderful, great waitress was on point, didn't feel rushed, treated my son like a king and was super authentic and friendly. The food was wonderful - lots of choices to suit everyone at the table. Great special occasion spot!
Great experience! The service was great and the quality and prep of the food was excellent. Although valet parking is available, the parking is convenient.
Staff was really great. Food too. Will def go back.
David was an excellent server!!
Our 5.5 hour trip was well worth it, staff went above and beyond to make our experience worth while. Food was amazing!
Would definitely recommend to my family & friends. Thank You!
I enjoyed my time here. Had dinner with some visiting work colleagues. Perfect venue. Great food. Great service.
The service was very helpful in explaining the menu as "first timers" and attentive throughout. Food was good, portions (salads were very big).
Took my grandson because he is "all things Michael Jordan ". We had a wonderful lunch.
The food was great and the service was fantastic. Thank you Henry for taking care of us!
