Michael Jordan's Restaurant - Oak Brook
Service was awful for a private party room. We expected to be attended to as we would be spending a nice amount. We waited for a bottle of wine for over 25 minutes. Waited 20 minutes for a beer. The waitress poured a whole bottle of wine into four glasses and almost filled them even though we told them there would be five people drinking the wine. She just wanted to pour it so she wouldn’t have to come back and top our wine off. The salads came out with our meals. Not beforehand. She forgot to put orders in for some parts of the meal. We’ve been there multiple times before. We chose this because of the experiences we had previously. We were celebrating two birthdays. She did not bring out a dessert for the birthdays as we previously have had them do. We then waited 25 minutes for the check. I ended up leaving and taking the kids home. They are usually so great with the kids. Giving them “autographs”. I was highly disappointed. Unfortunately we will not be back. Gibson’s is across the street. That will be our choice going forward. It’s always consistent at Gibson’s. Excellent service and food.
The wait staff is really attentive. The food was a but overpriced but very good. I had a good time with my wife on our first anniversary and they made sure to create an experience for us. I would go again.
The staff was great at helping us celebrate our anniversary. We received a champagne toast and a card signed by MJ and a desert everything was really good
This is my third time to eat at this place. Excellent waiters and waitresses. The food is great. The prices of the culinary selections are reasonable.
The food was mediocre, the atmosphere was lovely. We expected a better food experience, especially with Michael Jordan's name being used for this establishment.
This turned out to be my worst dining experience in years. BUT, Emily, the manager saved the day. She was the only bright point about today. She was professional and polite. The rest of it, I am trying to forget.
Once again, Emily saved the day.
Overall great place very good service and is in great location across from the Oak Brook Mall
Food was tasty. Service was good but felt that server could have replenished water a little faster as it wasn't really crowded on the day we went. Overall nice experience with a lot of old MJ photos to take in.
great place, had fun withe the waiter,Derrick
he did it all and with good humor and class
I hope he moves up the ladder
Server was wonderful! Food was good. Restaurant was very, very COLD!
The food and service were amazing! I will definitely come back.
Great chicken egg rolls, loaded with chicken and good sauces. Excellent peppered salmon and steak sandwich is excellent and enough for a big eater. Cesar salad lacked enough dressing and not very good. But service was excellent!
No valet and weak quality of food and wine
The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. Me and my wife definitely enjoyed the food! But most importantly our waiter that we had. I forgot his name but he was a young African American. He greeted us promptly after we got our table. He talked about the house specials as well as offered suggestions. My wife and I were very pleased with his professionalism and how nice he treated us. Definitely looking forward to making another trip to this restaurant in the near future. And yes I am a Michael Jordan fan!!👍🏽
Took our nephew out for his birthday. Filet was excellent! Service was great. New favorite for filets.
Perfect. I love it 👍🏻 I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was amazing 💕
Quality evening, would recommend. Crab cakes and the Downtown Mule were exceptional, service solid as well
The food is very good. The menu is not huge, but is varied enough that it's easy to fine something wonderful. Most items are ala carte, which can increase the price, but entrees by themselves are reasonable.
Our waiter did not come around often enough and we got the wrong drink TWICE
Food and service was good. Prices a bit high. Good for special occasion.
The lamb chops and the mac and cheese were phenominal and the ambiance was topnotch. The strip steak was awesome and we all enjoyed our food immensely. We even had an unexpected fourth person join us.
We took my son here for dinner to celebrate a special birthday and the entire experience was AWFUL!! The bartender was inattentive and it was not busy this Sunday evening. Our waiter was just as bad. The food is extremely expensive and portions are small. Everything is ‘ala carte’. The filet is $43 and does not include a dinner salad, potatoes or vegetable. We were extremely disappointed and will NEVER go to this restaurant again. Do not waste your hard earned money!
Service was extremely slow and unorganized. We weren’t in a rush and had a good time but for the price, we expected more. Food was good.
The manager was professional in all our dealing!and was a big improvement to our previous visit. The Ribeye, Fillet and Mash potatoes were very good!
only complaint was the noise level...with high ceilings & loud music adding to the background sounds of other patrons it was at times difficult to hear.
Confirm your reservation now, no need to pass. My son is a big basketball fan and picked the restaurant as a reward - we didn’t know what to think.
The G.O.A.T.’s food, service, attention to children, and environment are a 3-pointer at the buzzer. This is where you want to go for some expert American steak house inspired meals that make you relaxed enough to enjoy the night.
We selected the garlic bread, peppercorn filet, lobster ravioli, (kids got steaks and fries off the kids menu) and we split the 23 layer cake. They really took care of us.
We’re picky so ... you’re guaranteed a slam dunk.
Very nice setting. John our sever was top notch. Attentive and knowledgeable.
We were there to celebrate our sons 30th birthday. We were surprised with a peice of cake for all of us with Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dish. Nice touch.
Service was outstanding, my ladies fillet came out a bit too red and we asked to send it back and fire it up a bit more, they made her a new one, gave us the old one to take home and for the wait gave us a piece of 23 layer chocolate cake that was SUPERB !!! We will be going back
Usually have good service and food experience. Not this time. Food was highly over salted, service was less than stellar.
The signed birthday card was an excellent pay off our special day. Thank you, Kristina Price
Food was great, service was great, will be back
In my honest opinion, the service wasn’t great. We didn’t get shown to our table. The greeter pointed in the direction of our seats. Our waitress showed no interaction. It wasn’t as busy; however, our waitress Nancy seemed as if she didn’t have time. We felt rushed and not important. She didn’t ask us how our food was. She came back with the check. Once we gave her cash, she didn’t bother to bring the change back. She just assumed that she didn’t have to return the change. On top of not returning the change, she never returned to the table to say thank you or have a nice evening. Poor service.
I was excited to go. I have always been a fan of Michael Jordan growing up. I went a long time ago to the one in Chicago but they had a gift shop, which I really liked. I was also able to pick up a souvenir menu, which I still have. I wish I was able to buy a coffee cup or something. It was a great experience, I loved it and the food was great.
Definitely not worth the time or money. Totally over rated ! Very disappointing !
Service is slow food was cold - a steak shouldn’t come out cold
The food and service were on point. I arrived 25 minutes early and got seated wright away. I like this location better than the downtown Chicago location. I will definitely be back. I must visit if you haven't already.
My husband’s steak was grossly undercooked. My pasta was bland. When the steak was returned to him after the re-fire, it lost its garnish on top. I expect a steakhouse to know the difference between medium rare and medium well (huge difference) the first time around.
Valentine's day lunch and the place wasn't too crowded. Service was well paced and food was excellent. The whitefish was delicate and flavorful and the pecan encrusted pork chop was done perfectly medium and retained its juiciness.
