Michael Jordan's Restaurant - Oak Brook
The experience was not great. My food was not served hot, I ordered a sliced steak and besides being under cooked it tasted like it sat waiting for the food for the rest of our group to be prepared. We also ordered asperagus and they we cold and undercooked. Our service was fair and out waitress seed to disappear for prolonged periods of time. I would not recommend or go back.
Nothing to write home about. Service was good. Nice vibe to the place. Food was just OK. Lobster Ravioli was lukewarm and the mushroom pasta was pretty bland. I’d probably stick to a steak next time.
It was my boyfriend and I first time there. The food was delicious, the environment was cozy. My boyfriend and I were having a date night and it was definitely amazing. Although, the service was good but it felt like the server was a little annoyed. She wasn't enthusiastic and gave us the feeling like she was not happy to serve us. Overall, as our first time being there, the experience was beautiful. Service could be better. Had a great night. :)
I love all of the photos in the restaurant. The wine selection was very nice. Our service was excellent!
Perfect evening for a birthday event. Great food. Wonderful service. Love all the pictures of Michael!
We came here to celebrate my son’s birthday who is really into Michael Jordan. The general manager and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make my son’s night special. Really memorable and great night for our family!
We went for lunch on a Saturday. The service was terrific. Food was delicious and well presented.
I thought the lunch menu was a tad limited.
We will definitely return for dinner.
First time here. Crab cake appetizer is a must try. You won’t be disappointed!
Steaks and sides were great, service was just OK. Staff didn’t know the wines and wasn’t helpful and I would expect for this higher end pricing and steak quality that they’d have a better bar whiskey offering AND a listing. That was amateur hour!
The setting is nice as well as the service. The food was average at best. I had the medium bone in ribeye. It was not very flavorful. She had a burger that she loved. We also had the Bacon that was very good to me but she didn't care for it. For the taste of the food, it is over priced. I will not return.
We were the first people at the restaurant yesterday, so were allowed to sit wherever we wanted. Ten minutes after we sat down, the girl at the front desk sat 4 very loud women right next to us!!! There was no one else in the restaurant! Why right next to us? We heard everything they said, from menu questions (LOTS of menu questions!), to what they ordered, to personal info, to gossip...). Re-training the front desk may help, but I don’t think we’ll go back...
Service was very slow.
The food was okay. Service not very good/l, we had to ask for water refills twice. Also, when my friend asked about items on menu, our server compared them to fast food. She said the Big Mike burger tasted like a Big Mac and the 23 ingredient salad tasted like Portillo’s. Needless to say, we did not think these were ringing endorsements! No one tried the burger, but I did get the salad and thought it was pretty bland.
Food was okay. Service was a bit slow and I was overall disappointed in the lack of Michael Jordan memorabilia in the establishment. They maybe had one wall when you walk in. Not sure if I would recommend the place considering you’re pushing about $45 a person with a drink and minor reasons for it to be that expensive. Try something better in the area if you enjoy fine dining.
We had horrible service at 7:15 PM in the bar on 12/31. Waited 70 min before any appetizer was brought to our table. It was truly shocking such terrible service. When the food FINALLY arrived it was really good. I don’t think we will return or recommend to our friends. At the least they will all know about the poor service. No apology from a manager, nothing taken off our bill either. So disappointing.
Oysters were disappointing. Steaks were tender but flavor wasn’t anything special.
Service was great!
This was our first time to the restaurant. Food was really good. Price point was slightly higher than we would have liked. Service was less than fair. Took forever to get our drinks. Received the wrong side, and correct one arrived as we were finishing our meal. It was New Year’s Eve, but wasn’t overly packed. With so many other great restaurants to choose from in the area, don’t think this is one we’d return to.
I really love dining at Michael Jordan’s in Oakbrook but this was a bad experience. We had a 6:30 reservation and arrived on time, yet were not seated until almost 7pm. The service was extremely slow, literally waited 25 minutes for a piece of pie. Very disappointing
Had reservations so was seated within 2 minutes! I requested a booth which was perfect for us because it's off to the side. We both ordered steaks which was cooked to I liking. It wasnt a long wait for food to be served. One of the sides we both ordered was the mac and wish we had know that one side is plenty for two. The only negative thing I have to say is they need to sharpen the knives. I requested another knife because I had a hard time cutting with the first one and 2nd one was no better. I took half of the steak home and it sliced well with my knife and it was still tender. Overall, it's a nice restaurant.
Your staff was outstanding. I felt very welcomed. Already planning a return visit.
awesome time with family, great food , lots of choices
Everything delish. Crab cake awesome as always, white fish, roasted chicken were wonderful. As always it’s grest food never disappoints!
The service ruined it didn’t get the cocktail sauce ordered with my $12 calimarI, didn’t get the 2nd beer that I ordered, couldent get a separate check from the couple that we dined with and the server made the comment that we were killing her this all after a $140 dollar bill
Service was awesome. My steak was cooked perfectly, but the rest of the food was just average. Expensive.
Went there on a preChristmas date with my special Princess and as always it didn’t disappoint. The French onion soup is a definite starter. I had the bbq braised pork shank and she had the roasted lemon herb chicken. We added 4 cheese mac-n-cheese with a twice baked potato. Finished it off with an apple crisp.
Everything and I mean everything was exceptional in flavor, tenderness and presentation.
A real pleasure to dine with them for any occasion.
Food, atmosphere, was fantastic. My family and I had a great holiday lunch.
The food is good and worth the money I paid for dinner. We waited for a waiter and then waited for drinks and then waited for dinner and then waited to put an order for dessert when we decided we have waited enough and left with out ordering dessert. They may be figuring their system out and I would be happy to try the restaurant again.
Our steaks were moderately overcooked. I ordered a medium rare steak and I received a medium steak. My wife ordered a medium steak and she received a medium well steak.
Great food and ambiance.
Extremely poor bar service. Attempted to hand me my drink after it was put in front of someone else and they took a sip out of it.
This review is based on my own experience and does not include what my dining partners thought. I had reserved a table for five approximately 3-4 weeks before our office Christmas lunch. The table was right in front of the opening to the kitchen so the staff was literally carrying food over some of our heads. I had a beautiful view of the kitchen. The restaurant was full so nothing to be gained by complaining about our placement. The staff was very good and friendly. Appetizers were pretty good. My Whitefish was just okay. Nothing special and somewhat bland. My dining partners either had steak, pork chops or a salad. They commented that they liked their meals. For desert we split a 23-layer chocolate cake and a cheese cake. Both were good. Would I return? Probably not. With all the dining choices at Oak Brook Mall there are better choices.
I am not saying I wouldn't return to this restaurant, but I would say that the meal was not outstanding. We ordered a wedge salad to start, which I usually love and was recommended by the server. It was probably one of the most plain I have had in a long time. Just nothing good about it. And it was served with pork belly instead of bacon (to put their own twist on it I guess) but seeing a super fatty piece of pork on top of the salad was frankly unappetizing. Who eats a mouthful of fat anyway?
Service was also very slow with a looooong time to get the starter, and then a very long time between courses. I might try it again to see if I have a better experience, but I would not necessarily recommend this restaurant to others.
Decided to have our annual holiday dinner here. First time for all of us so was pretty excited about going. We had reservations and the table was ready right away. The host however, didn't offer to hang our coats and the greeting was short and abrupt. It was hard for four of us to sit in the booth with all our coats and gifts so after asking, it may have been the manager, about our coats, the host then wanted to be very helpful. I ordered the ribeye steak Medium Well. It came out more Medium so I asked them to grill a little longer. Came back a little too charred & dry and to top it off, my potatoes were cold. For the price we paid, I would've expected a more appetizing meal and definitely not cold potatoes. I was less than wowed with the food and service but still enjoyed the company of my friends. Happy Holidays.
Great meal and great service. Kudos to Sue and the kitchen crew. Look forward to going back sometime.
Tables are too close to each other. You can’t have a coherent or private conversation
We were 18 minutes late and hostess stated she gave our table away 3 minutes prior to even though we were waiting for valet service and i did not see anyone inside when we walked in at the counter. Once we were seated it took forever it took over 2 hours for dinner.
Ok place...not off the chart good.
Ambiance a bit cold...
Wait staff attentive..
Tough competition in the area..
Ate in the bar - great food & service! Bartender was our waiter & he was very knowledgeable on wine paring &
food recommendations!! Appitizers were great as well!!
Angelica is a fantastic waitress
The men’s washroom was filthy. Maybe it was due to the people who used it but it was disgusting.
All else pretty good. A bit high priced but you have to expect to pay for the celebrity.
Edgar was superb, like 23!
