Michael Jordan's Restaurant - Oak Brook
We had the Tomahawk Steak. It was awesome. The calamari was delicious. Our server was wonderful. I, definitely, will be back soon
It was ok, nothing great
The steak I ordered wasn’t available. So I ordered another steak. When I asked for steak sauce, I was told they didn’t have steak sauce. I wasn’t willing to pay for a steak, I didn’t originally want without steak sauce.
The service was a little slow, but our server was young and I think inexperienced-needs a little more training. Otherwise, food was great and we had a wonderful time. The manager even comped a few things to make up for the few hiccups we did have.
Caesar salad was poor with new flavors
Miss old mixture
Two thumbs up
Not as good as I expected from an MJ's restaurant.
Good was great and the service was amazing
I had higher hopes for this place. Environment reminded me more of a Chili's than high-end steakhouse. We were seated at the exposed kitchen area which seemed to be more of a distraction; this is not a place to have a business meeting or date.
While the food and service were good, I would say they're comparable to other area restaurants but the the prices were much higher for what you got overall.
I won't be putting this high on my list and will stick with Gibson's, Ditka's and Perry's in this area.
Great restaurant! Love the food and drinks .
Excellent experience...great white fish and bread
Wonderful Caesar salad and onion soup...chef split it all in the kitchen for two who split their meal.
Waitress made separate checks for the 3 singles at the table with one couple.
We will definitely return soon
Love the ambience of the room and it was pleasantly quiet.
Excellent waitress who kissed us on our way out...what more could you ask for? (We are senior citizens)
5 star experience! !!
Everything was great but our service was v slow! Took a long time to get food and check! 2 hr lunch!
Had a drink at the bar before dinner, bartender was very nice, got us water as soon as we sat down and promptly took our order. Our table was ready on time, we're we're greeted by a wonderful waitress, very kind and patient, we were aware she was very busy but never let on that she haff so much going on, took her time and answered all of our questions. Throughout our meal she checked on us a few times, the food wad very good, the atmosphere was relaxed and not overly loud. We will be back and would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
I was referred to Michael Jordan's restaurant through a friend. I was looking to take my husband for a steak for his birthday and had asked for suggestions. My friend, highly recommended Michael Jordan's.
He said, it's a great place to take someone on a special evening and it was. It met all my expectations and more. The pictures on the wall, the service and the food, made it for an awesome evening.
I would definitely go there again, and would recommend to my friends.
Thank you for a great experience.
We had dinner at MJ as a family. My kids love Michael Jordan and since they had a kids’ menu, we thought we’d try it. The fact that there’s steak on the kids menu is pretty cool. They gobbled up everything (1 had the steak while the other 2 had the cheeseburger sliders) while I had the scallops and my husband had a strip. We had a good dinner and will be back for a larger family dinner in the near future. Especially since we haven’t tried the desserts yet! ;)
Food was great and wait staff very willing to please. Surprised there was no valet but we found a spot right in front. Dessert was large portion so we took some home.
Great lunch special
My wife and I went here for our anniversary enjoyed the whole evening food was great and the service our waiter Wil was over the top everyone was very professional will definitely go back again
Food was good, service was good. I do wish that the host or hostess would read what occasion we were there for along with comments that I had put in on the OpenTable reservation- that box is there for a reason. We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary which I stated in comments section and they could’ve greeted us or maybe had given us a scoop of ice cream or something on on a $230 bill.
Our server Henry was amazing!! From start to finish he made everything even more special that it was itself! He truly took care of us, was personal, kind and so friendly. We will be back first and foremost because the service we were given and the food and atmosphere is one of a kind!
Top notch service once again! Delicious food too!!
Service and food was excellent but no one was at the hostess table when we arrived nor for 5 minutes. Otherwise David was very attentive and the food was very plentiful
Exceeded all expectations. Can’t wait to go back! We went to celebrate a birthday and left feeling really appreciative of the customer service, quality and hospitality.
The entire experience was superb! Was celebrating sister's birthday. She said was best one ever! Thank you.
Not for dinner portion to small for the price very small selection on menu restaurant is overrated nothing special about this location just a few on a Friday night should have been a clue to leave but the positive thing was we were celebrating our 39 year anniversary and got a card and a small chocolate dessert to share maybe just live up to the name and make the portion larger and at least give out dinner rolls with the meal. First time we have ever gone to a upscale restaurant that didn’t give out dinner rolls to start. Thank you
Our meals were great and the service was very good.
I brought my son, who is getting more into basketball, for his 10th birthday. He enjoyed himself and loved the food (even though he ordered his usual chicken tenders). I had a steak and a side, and, they were both perfect. The waitress helped make it special by presenting a birthday cake, and autographed birthday card and a quick tour of the party room (to view more photos)-all not expected, but very appreciated.
Prospective Patrons: Fair warning...
Wait staff needs more wine service training. Server actually claimed not be a “wine person”, so didn’t know much about wine - or how to properly serve it! Really? It’s not that complicated. If your guests are purchasing wine from you, you had best know enough to handle the task of presenting and serving appropriately. Please provide adequate training/instruction to your staff.
Wine list vintage dates are also inaccurate. A 2016 vintage is NOT the same wine as a 2015! Yet the wine is priced like a commodity; irrespective of vintage. This offensive, unprofessional, and totally avoidable! Please correct this administrative issue.
This was our first visit to this particular MJ Restaurant. Everything was fine, except the wife was expecting a little more booths.
Out of town clients treated us to dinner. Lamb EXCELLENT, Filet EXCELLENT, 2 steaks EXCELLENT, Lobster tails were very overcooked that were served with the special, dry & tuff. My steak, rib eye, was requested med. well and it came out med. I ate around the outside but took the rest home to be re-fired there. I didn't want the table to eat without me so I waited to tell our waitress about it towards the end of our meal but I left hungry. I couldn't eat the way too red meat. The brocollinni could have been cooked a bit longer. I get tender crisp but not raw. Spinach was excellent along with the double baked potatoe. Clients were impressed. This was my third time dinning at MJ's and I was disapointed again. They just can't cook a steak med-well and other steak houses do it perfectly!
We were looking forward to trying out this place, but overall were a bit disappointed. Initial service was slow. We were sitting for 20 minutes before anyone came over to welcome us and take a drink order. As an apology, our server did give us a complimentary appetizer, which was very kind. And our server was more attentive the rest of the evening.
When the food came out, our steaks were cooked medium-well when we asked for medium-rare. The rib eye was also in need of seasoning. The quality of the meat and ingredients is very high, it was just a series of preparation and cooking errors that unfortunately resulted in a less than stellar dining experience. Our hope is that it was just an off night.
The atmosphere is chic, cool and comfortable. The bar and outdoor patio were lovely. Great wine list and fun cocktails.
This place was terrible, the only thing they didn’t mess up with the calamari. Garlic bread says blue cheese fondue sauce. So we made sure sauce was on the side because we don’t like blue cheese. Only to find out blue cheese comes on the bread too. Didn’t eat it. Lobster ravioli was ok. Nothing bad about it but nothing good either for 26 bucks. My steak sandwich was the worst I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t bite through it, it was that fatty and was like trying to bite rubber. I can honestly say I’ve never had that happen where I took a bite of something and I couldn’t bite it off. I was like a dog with a chew toy and it still wouldn’t come off. Didn’t eat it. The meals came out 2 minutes after we got our appetizers and there was like no tables in there so I know it wasn’t because they needed to turn the table. No manager ever stopped by and nobody asked why we didn’t eat any of our meals except the calamari. I never complained because I feel uncomfortable and rude doing it but the fact we had to go to chick fil a after spending 100 bucks for 2 people is pathetic and made me feel like I had to write a review. I’ve tried almost every restaurant in the oak brook and Yorktown area and this one was by far the worst.
Everything was great! Our waiter Henry was amazing! He was very attentive and makes sure our time there was enjoyable.
The service was excellent. Henry was our waiter, very informative, friendly, and has a great positive attitude. The cocktails were well done, the calamari was excellent. Wedge salad wa delicious, with a wonderful thick bacon complimenting it. Salmon was cooked to perfection, and the Prime Rib was outstanding. Thank you MJ:)
Very nice setup, good food and drink with decent service and parking.
Only one accessible parking spot and it was filled, and valet station blocked the sidewalk. So probably won't be back.
Definitely a special occasion venue. Was a little bit pricey, but what do you expect from Michael Jordan’s LOL. I will say comparing to Gibsons, DikaS, Ruth Chris, this one is definitely in the category if not surpass them
The steak was prepared well. However, it was not as tender as expected for it to be Delmanico cut.
The crabcake, bread, and salad was phenomenal.
Went to celebrate a friend and my wife’s birthday. We had a wonderful time the anniversary special was great and the food and service was awesome.
