Mia's Italian Kitchen
The inspiration came from one of the partner’s unique relationship with his great-grandmother – she didn’t speak a word of English, so they communicated through food. Originally from Naples, Italy, she used easy, simple, raw ingredients - an approach that Mia’s will carry over in our own menu, which will include house-made pasta, Italian sandwiches, charcuterie, and square pizzas.
MIa's was an ok place to eat. I would recommend it to friends that wanted a place to go in Old Town that was well located. Food was ok, but nothing to be excited about and desserts (cheesecake and cannoli) took 20 minutes to arrive after ordering.
Really cool spot. Great homemade pasta. Really good value for the area also.
My wife and I had a date night in Old Town. OpenTable worked like a charm, we arrived early but weren’t seated until our reservation time, this was fine. We shared a pizza for an appetizer which was great, it was hot and fresh. The issue was with our entrees, both of our meals came out luke warm at best. The sauce on my wife’s bolognese pasta looked like it was in the drying stage. The melted cheese on my eggplant parm already hardening. We will go back but only for drinks and pizza, if I’m paying almost $20 for pasta, it better have steam coming off it when it’s brought to the table.
What a beautiful restaurant in the best location in Old Town! With warmer weather, the windows were open to the outdoors, connecting us to the lively street scene. Our food was delicious, with generous portion sizes, and our waiter was entertaining and efficient. A great value!
Fun Wednesday evening girl's dinner with good food, great service and nice wine! Our waiter, Noah, was charming and friendly and helpfully reminded us that it was 1/2 price wine bottle night. We were crushed that the polpetta is off the menu! We will be starting a write in campaign to bring them back! Portions are always generous and food is reliably yummy. Thanks to Paul for hearing us out about the polpetta! We will be back for more wine Wednesdays!
Interesting menu selection. There was a lot more food than was expected.
Met mom and grandma here for quick meet up. Great service. Great food. Even grandma friendly but still cool enough to have interesting menu items and appealing decor. Great spot
My number one pet peeve is to have a reservation, show up on time, and have to wait 30 minutes for my table. It’s a sign that thee are systemic issues with the management of the restaurant.
Staff was very friendly as we stood there waiting. The bar was too crowded to stand and wait and everywhere we tried to stand and wait, we were in the way, making a bad situation worse.
Our appetizers were really good, but my chicken Parmesan was WAY over done and oily. My husbands whit wine was served in a whiskey tumbler, which is weird when I saw ted wine being served. It’s usually the opposite. White wine is not good when it gets warm (palm of hand warms wine), red wine opens with air and body temperatures.
We won’t go back. There are too many choices in old town to be stressed out about a Saturday dinner out.
Overall, the food is very good, but the marinara sauce is very salty.
Great place with wonderful food and terrific ambiance! Our waiter was friendly enough but the service seemed to take a little longer than necessary; waited quite a bit to place our drink order then for the drinks, themselves.
They need to fine tune their establishment. Too loud, no acoustics. Food is above average.
Our fave Alexandria restaurant. Love seeing the success on this historic corner. Service excellent. Food home-styled Italian. Great value.
Service was lacking compared to past visits. I
My only feedback was the pasta sauce was salty. The table next to mine made the same comment. Loved the location, the ambiance, staff and overall experience!
Our 2nd time here & both visits were perfect with our entire group.
I never had eggplant parmigiana that you have to cut it with a steak knife. It was so hard that I had them send it back. The next one came and it was just a little better. When I cut it I moved the whole table. The guy across from got it and he was cutting his with a fork. It should be soft but was like beef jerky. My daughters pizza was good and the other daughter got pasta which she said was good. I’ll just not order the eggplant next time.
Great brunch! It was a lot of food, but it gave us an opportunity to try lots of things.
I have been to Mia's twice now. I had a great experience both times. Good food and our waiter Noah was great!
Our server was great. We always have a nice experience dining at ARP’s restaurants.
Arugula salad was awesome. Both of us had pasta dishes- quite good.
Overall experience was good - every dish was far too salty and the kitchen needs to lighten it as it takes away from the flavor of the food. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant and the seating. The music was a bit too loud and the waiter seemed overwhelmed by a party of 7 - I would go back because the food overall was good
Nice environment and friendly service, but the food just wasnt anything exceptional, which is why I wouldnt go back. The "Ink Blot" pasta was just noodles and spinach with lobster on top. The individual ingredients tasted fine, but for such a highly rated restaurant I expected better integration. Just not impressive overall.
A pleasant surprise! Everything was great!
We had a great experience at Mia’s! The food, service and vibe was all great. We will definitely go back.
Best Italian food we have ever eaten! Wish they gave bread before while you wait and then it would have been perfect.
All five in our party really enjoyed our food. Grill sausage Stuffed calamari and the mushroom pasta were two of our favorites. The branding is delicious. Pizza also good. Service was great. Have been several times. Upstairs is a bit quieter. Very fun atmosphere up and down. Will definitely go back
Amazing brunch - you won't go hungry and it's a great value! And you'll probably have leftovers to take home for lunch the next day! Plus good prices on the brunch beverages as well.
Fun neighborhood restaurant with good food and a nice ambiance. Met with family for their family style lunch which was fun . We tried a variety of items - salad, fried zucchini, pasta and pizza and everything was delicious. Our server was great also keeping our drinks filled and checking in with us. Didn't have dessert but the dessert menu looked enticing.
Another great dining experience at Mia's. Had friends we wanted to treat for their birthday. Decided to meet Saturday for Mia's weekend brunch. So many choices on the brunch menu, served family style, and prepared for the number of guests participating in the Brunch Menu (and not all at the table are required to participate). First time to try Breakfast Spaghetti! Now a favorite! Each section on the menu had a great variety of choices it was hard for us to decide on the one!
We ordered the Praline French Toast as one of the options. We thought our server missed that selection. She intentionally served it AFTER the flatbread, making it a nice finishing touch (sweet one) to the entire meal. Good call, Laura!
We are frequent diners at this restaurant. Thank you for a reliably good meal at a restaurant where we know we can take friends and not take a "gamble" on the quality of the meal, service, or ambiance.
This restaurant is able to simultaneously be a romantic spot and a great family restaurant. We find the food consistently delicious and very reasonably priced.
Visited on a cold snowy evening, so the restaurant was not the bustling as usual. However, service and food was great... as always!
Great place to be with friends! Love the food. Easy to get to and great service
Food and service quite good, but tables too close together and area too noisy.
Mia’s is one of our favorite places. The drinks are great as is the service. The giant meatball is our favorite appetizer. We’ve had pasta, pizza, and entrees - all have been fabulous.
Mia’s Italian kitchen was even better than we imagined. Food was delicious, ambiance was very nice and service was great. Definitely a place we will come back more often!
What a wonderful experience! My husband, son and I dined here for Valentine’s Day. We were an hour late for our reservation due to a delayed flight. The host was so kind and sat us at a table by the window. Our waitress immediately came to our table and took our drink orders and made some suggestions. Our starter was a delicious artisan bread stuffed with cheese. Amazing!! My son had the cheese pizza. The flavors in the sauce danced on your tongue. My husband had chicken parmigiana and he gave it an excellent review. I had the house made fettuccine al funghi! I highly recommend this dish. Three varieties of mushrooms in a delicious cream sauce. We topped off the evening with cannolis! We will definitely return!!!
Food was plain
Loved the location / restaurant / food and drinks. Will come back again for sure
Great food; Italian flavor comes through.
