I almost want to keep this place a secret. This was our first visit and it will not be the last. I am a ceviche snob, and I loved the Tiritas - yellow tail. Next time I will def try the Atun. The Tatanachos were just unique enough to make everyone in our group happy. And the Zarape de Pato had amazing layers of flavor. We tried the lamb, carnitas, and beef tacos, and all were delicious. Looking forward to another meal here in the very near future.
Loved it! Very nice view! Great guacamole and very attentive staff! Would definitely recommend!
Went for a lunch date. Oscar was our server and definitely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the the menu. The drinks were delicious. We had guacamole and seafood empanadas for appetizers. I had a scallop and shrimp dish. It was 'okay'. The presentation was lackluster and for three shrimp and three scallops thought was overpriced @$35. My husband had the burger it was meh. Overall, it's a beautiful location, great service. Maybe next time we'll try another entree.
I wouldn’t call the noise “energetic” as this poll suggest is more like I cannot hear to the other side of the table, annoying noise.
Food is great, I’m am Mexican and this is for me the best Mexican restaurant in DC(as 2020). Tasty food and generous dishes, you get a great value for your meal.
We were seated very close to the bar even though our reservation (for a Wednesday night) was made well in advance. Noise level is high. Food was very good but waiter recommended a huge dessert that was much too much food for one person. Service was very good. Margaritas were good.
Not very flexible with orders, and chil
Without a doubt one of best meals I’ve had in over a year! The food was amazingly flavorful with such variety of taste our expectations were exceeded. We had the restaurant week 2020 menu and it was a great tasting of several parts of the menu.
The food was terrific and the service was great! I would suggest better labeling of menu items for common food allergies.
The fixed price menu during Restaurant Week was an outstanding value. The margaritas were excellent, every dish we were served was delicious, and the service was wonderful.
We took advantage of the outstanding restaurant week offer for $35. An incredible value and the food was outstanding! We couldn’t eat it all and excited to try dishes we wouldn’t have otherwise. I always love Mi Vida, but this was my favorite dining experience and combination of food, tastes and textures from any of my previous visits. Definitely a returning customer.
The ambiance of the restaurant is great. The food was good and of particular value for restaurant week.
We came for restaurant week lunch but discovered that it wouldn’t work for us as the fixed menu was all meat dishes and my husband is vegan. All parties at the table would have to order it. The lunch special was only $3 less than their regular lunch special. So we ordered off the menu. The food was good. We then ordered the churros with chocolate. The churros were hard and not warm and they didn’t provide enough chocolate for dipping so I wouldn’t recommend them.
Their Restaurant Week menu might be the best and best value in DC. Holy moly, they had to almost roll us out of there. It was not the cheapest and easiest to make stuff on there like a lot of places do. We’re frequent diners there anyway - besides having great good and atmosphere, they are very celiac friendly — but this seals it as our favorite.
Happened upon this during restaurant week. They had a fantastic menu sampling all of our favorites. Our server was great and able to make a few substitutions to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Overall we had an amazing time and can’t wait to visit again.
I am a huge fan of the enchiladas. While a Mexican restaurant, they have the best burger in DC. So, a friend of mine who never went asked me to go to dinner, I recommended Mi Vida. So when we arrived, we realized it was Winter Restaurant Week and decided to go with that because they gave us every item on the WRW menu. No, select one from each category, they just kept bringing food. On top of the 2 rounds of tequila, I will tell you my friend is still talking about it and he is a foodie. He even had enough to take home for leftovers.
Went for Restaurant Week and the menu was fabulous. Very authentic and tasty dishes, and at a good price. The drinks were delicious too! It's a super cute place in a great location. Great for a large group or an intimate date. Definitely will be going again.
If you like spicy food, this is the place for you.
Loved the 2020 Restaurant week special. Plenty of delicious food. I have never been disappointed. Work next door so visit a lot.
The food, atmosphere, and ambience were great. However, it was family style food but nothing (including the guacamole, enchiladas, or other sauces) came with serving utensils and we had to ask multiple times for them, which I do not expect at a restaurant of this level.
Food and view were great. A little pricier than you usually spend on Mexican food but we would go back again.
Great food and attentive wait staff
Great atmosphere and food!
A really enjoyable meal!
We had a fantastic birthday celebration at Mi Vida. The attention paid to us was just perfect, and the food and setting, thoroughly enjoyable. Wouldn’t change a thing!
We had reservations for dinner, getting seated and our service was smooth and pleasant. We sat upstairs on the other side of the bar- looking out over the dock and below. It was a very festive atmosphere. We had a preset dinner for both of us- so multi courses. Some of our food was good- some just so so, it was expensive and I am not sure worth what we spent. Both of my specialty cocktails were just ok but pricey. We had very good service. I would come back, but be more choosy on what I ordered.
Mi Vida was great! Would definitely go back
Delicious food, but definitely a bit pricey for Mexican...i.e. $14 guacamole. Was it fantastic Guacamole - absolutely, but that's still a pricey avocado.
Great place to grab food on the Waterfront. Walk after in front of the water.
Always a great time!! Quality service and great food! A+++
Had a great time on New Year’s Eve!
Service and ambiance were outstanding. From the hostess to server to food runner, our service was top notch. We also enjoyed the DJ very much. Great location and view as well. I highly recommend.
Love this place! Food delicious and waiter fantastic
Great place! Delicious food and drinks!
Our waiter and former chef, Alfredo was superb! The food was amazing and the service was off the charts. I would highly recommend Mi Vida!
The food was really nice. The decor was awesome and is in a really nice area to walk around. We had a later reservation and they were able to accommodate us a little early.
Overpriced - you're paying for the Wharf location. Mediocre service. Food was good, but not great.
Great table location on second floor next to windows overlooking waterfront. Wait staff was very attentive, but only when needed. Never felt rushed.
The place is beautiful and the food was good.
Fantastic experience and food. Oscar was an outstanding server with perfect recommendations. Couldn’t have picked a better place.
What started as lunch turned into a 3 hour feast. The service was best in class. Thank you Tucker and team. One of my top 3 meals of the year. What didn’t we eat? I highly recommend the duck, oysters and tuna ceviche, the cod, the shrimp and scallops a la plancha, best guacamole ever, washed down with a magnum of rose. Churros and flan for dessert.
