I had a pork dish and the pork was over done. Salad and pasta work great
We were in Erie for a three day get away and wanted to enjoy some Italian food. We found Mi Scuzi on Open Table. The restaurant is located in a cute little neighborhood near downtown Erie. Due to COVid we sat out on their patio. It was so relaxing and the service was excellent. Our waitress did an excellent job making recommendations. The food was delicious. At the completion of our meal, the owner came out and greeted us and asked us if our two young boys would like to see the fish tank. Thanks for making our evening enjoyable and memorable. We were so happy to discover this neighborhood gem.
Everything perfect, a very nice place
We found the restaurant on Trip Advisor. They are charging a $2.50 service charge to help with the cost of extras cleaning. It’s ridiculous considering we sat at our table the entire meal and didn’t move around. Our waitress was very short with us, almost just throwing out plates and drinks on the table. There were 7 of us in the party so you think you’d be a bit nicer to get a good tip.
Food was pretty good but prices a bit high for the quality.
Owner seemed friendly and visited with the patrons eating.
They now have a nice little outdoor space to accommodate outdoor seating during Covid. Very nice. The tomato mozzarella salad and the wedding soup were fantastic. They were Also accommodating and able to cut another one of their Appetizers, the oepperonata, in half because only one of us could eat it. The giant ravioli were also fantastic. The service was very personal and the chef even came out at the end. Excellent surprise find in Erie. We will be back!
Excellent food, great service!! Definitely recommend!
The pasta and meatballs were excellent as well as their sauce a chicken français of cooked to perfection
Great dinner. Chef/owner came out and talked to us and made the experience that much better. Food was of excellent quality. It was a great night out
Get the Chilean Sea Bass. It’s worth every penny!!! Delicious Ceasar salad! Even the fresh yeast rolls served with olive oil and shaved Parmesan cheese were AMAZING! LOVE this place!
The food and service was amazing. We enjoyed finding this restaurant and dining there.
Well set up for social distancing; Chef Michael is a wizard in the kitchen and a warm host in his house. Every item that n the menu has his unique touch. The best.
Went to Mi Scuzi for my wife’s birthday on some of my families recommendation. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. This is a hidden gem in the city of Erie. We are planning to go back next week!
Disappointing, given the reviews and the prices. Appetizer served incorrectly from menu description. Not credited on bill. Entrees messy on the plates, and not as described. Seafood special to have shrimp, there was one. Scallops, there were none. Sauce was too sweet and too thick. Overall, they appeared to not be prepared fir reopening. Five people, $250. Too expensive for sub par experience.
Awesome Italian fare with a quiet atmosphere. The entree was beautifully presented, the opera music softly in the background was a nice addition. Save room for cheesecake with bordulux cherry, yum yum. Very nice and affordable vino selection. This is one of Eries best dining experience.
Excellent food and presentation! The sea bass was melt in your mouth and the rolls with oil and fresh parm were to die for. We sat on their outdoor patio with the green trellis over head. The chef and owner Michael came out to great all of the tables which was a nice touch. I can't wait to return when we visit from Pittsburgh!
Food was excellent - as always. It's a new day for restaurants and being outside was a different experience - the wine made it all good. Good time, food and company. Glad we were able to be there.
The restaurant was half empty she we got there and open table said there were only two time slots open. The waitress new nothing about opentable.
Excellent service and food. The thin mint martini's were awesome!
Amazing meal, our group shared the mussel appetizer and the mi scuzi pizza to start. The mussles in red sauce were out of this world with flavour. The entrees ordered included Pollo alla vodka, osso bucco, and the sea bass. Each of us had a taste of each others and every meal was amazingly delicious. Loved that the owner came out to speak with us and our Waitress (Lindy) was wonderful. Will definitely go back!
Excellent food with friendly service in a quiet atmosphere. This restaurant is located in a neighborhood and has a special ambiance. We look forward to our next visit.
The food was outstanding as usual. It's always nice to see Michael out in the dining room visiting. We’ll definitely be back soon.
Mi Scuzis never disappoints. Amazing food! I highly recommend.
My son and daughter and I drove to meet in Erie from Rochester, NY and Pittsburgh and were looking for a nice place to celebrate my son't birthday. Mi Scuzzi was the perfect place. The gnocchi in Bolognese sauce was superb. All the dishes were wonderful. The warm bread with slices of parmesan cheese were a real delight. The server did a fabulous job bringing a birthday dessert with the requested number of candles and was very patient and engaging. She took our picture making sure it turned out well. I can't say enough about how impressed we were with this restaurant. Can you open up a branch in Rochester, NY?
Everything was wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent food, drinks, and service. We will definitely go there again soon.
I appreciated the special Valentine's Day menu and everything was excellent. I missed the signature calamari but will have it again when I return. This is a gem in Erie.
The food was amazing! The chef can around to all the tables! Excellent service! We cannot wait to go back!
We ended up going here for our anniversary dinner (which happens to be very close to Valentine's Day, so it was busy). The food was great- we got the calamari ceviche as an appetizer- the presentation was fantastic and it was honestly the best calamari we've ever had. My boyfriend got angel hair pasta with chicken as his entree, and I got the special for the day- 3 petit entrees- chicken parm, portabello mushroom, and then a (ravioli?- I forgot, but it was good). Both of the entrees were great- tasted fine and for the price, the portions were pretty solid.
The problem came with the service, however. Our waitress was nice off the start, albeit maybe a tad slow on refilling drinks (it was busy, I'll give her a pass), but when it came to the bill, we were upcharged $34. We have the Erie Fine Dining Card, which allows a free entree with the purchase of another entree. When the bill came back, it was stated that the card was used, but there was no sign of such. The original bill without the EFDC should've been ~$94. It ended up being $128. I don't know how you make such a glaring error. That's two things you messed up- not adding the free entree and then somehow upcharging.
When the head chef came over to check on us (which is nice), he saw us checking the bill and said in a really passive/aggressive tone 'oh, doing math on the bill, are you?'- like, dude, come on. Just because your main clientele isn't 20-something-year-old gay guys doesn't mean you need to be like that to us. When the server came back to get the bill and we addressed her, she apologized, and it seemed super fake, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt- she said sorry like 10 times. When the final bill came back, it was the price it should've been (like $68). After we signed the bill, our waitress said in the strangest tone 'I'm so sorry about that, you guys can get out as quick as possible, I know this sucks'- uhh. Telling people to 'get out as quick as possible' is not a good thing to do.
We had a great meal and dessert. Everything we had was very tasty and will go back for sure! The staff was very attentive. Thanks for the great time!
Good food but overpriced. The Stuffed Poblano Peppers was an excellent appetizer. Sea bass was not worth the price
The food was good [not great, but I am very picky]. There is a definite upscale flare to this place. I think it is a bit over priced, but the portions are large and overall the value is there. Tiny things to improve on ... the rolls are store bought and not really Italian style. The neighborhood is weird for a restaurant, but Erie is generally eclectically imbalanced. I would say overall you can expect a good meal, so I recommend going.
Everyone was friendly and accommodating. There was valet service at the door (since they don't have a parking lot). They had good options for both vegetarian and gluten free. We had the hand-made ravioli and hand made sausage that were delicious. They had a nice selection of wine and martini. We would stop by again.
Absolutely delicious! Chef Michael and his daily inspirations never disappoint. Cannot wait to go back again!
Kids running around everywhere, food was bland, not like previous experience, disappointed.
Had a great evening. Drinks and dinners were all very good.
Great food! Always have.a great meal here and portions are good
What an absolute delight this place was. Reminded my wife and I of some of the old timey Italian places that we went to as kids. The food was absolutely exceptional. Can’t wait to make reservations for Christmas next year, but they only take reservations 90 days in advance! Loved it.
It was a fantastic night out with the family. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Fine dining with a family welcoming feel that made for a great meal.
