This restaurant is permanently closed. Enjoy craft cocktails, draft beer with friends accompanied by our famous chilaqules burger and our pozole ramen bowl. I made a reservation for 10pm. When we got there, they said kitchen was closed. So we drove out there for nothing basically. Very disappointing. We went especially for their scallop appetizer plate. Just ended up having one for their Michiladas. Their services is definitely bad. BTW this is not the first time something like this has happened.

Wonderful service from Zack and the food was spectacular, special thanks to the Executive Chef Mario Medina. Also, great drinks especially the Old Fashioned they prepared. Delicious 😋 Highly recommended!

We had an 8:30 reservation, we called because we were running a little late, 12 minutes to be exact. We still waited almost an hour to be seated, we were at the bar, drinks are $12, fine I don't mind paying as long as they are good, they were moderate. When we did sit the waiter only gave us water, didn't offer us drink because he saw some of us had cocktails, so no non-alcoholic beverages were offered to us. It was Valentine's Day, they only had 2 choices for dinner. They brought our salads/soups out, some of us were still eating when the waiter was literally taking our plate before even finishing our food, they rushed us, I hate that feeling. So it was not a pleasant experience, I will not return! The only nice thing was the rose we received while entering.

I was skeptical about the restaurant but decided to make a reservation. We walked in and we were offered a small table at the front door way. I was asked if the table was going to be ok, I said no and asked for another table away from the front door. The manager walked up and said he had no other tables available. The restaurant had many other tables available at the time. They offered to move the small table to the side. A special menu was given to us without any explanation with only three options to choose from. The menu didn’t offer a steak and they claim to be a steak house. We walked out before attempting to continue having dinner at this establishment. I will never go back to this restaurant. I truly expect a higher quality restaurant along with appropriate standards. It would be great to have such a restaurant in Downey however, in my opinion this place will not measure up.

Mi Cielo has a great rib eye and cost was reasonable. However, recommend they add more dinner options and have a bigger selection on wine.

The server was inexperienced. Was not well versed on the menu. For the price and ambience- one expects a better trained server. It was hot and the doors were open, several flies were flying around, there was a broken toilet in the bathroom, and it smelled like death in the ladies bathroom. Drinks were good, steaks were delicious, fish was over cooked, desert was average.

A very nice restaurant with much better food than across the street. It was very slow for a Friday night. Hope they stay open. The bar upstairs needs to have some tables that are not based on bottle service or at least some stools at the bar.

I’m excited to have this restaurant in Downey. The food and service were great. My only complaint: it is much too loud. Impossible to have a conversation.

We had an absolutely horrendous experience here. The fire alarm went off and no one came to let us know what was going on. Our food took well over an hour. When it finally arrived all of our expensive steaks were very cold! My meat was super salty. A dish was taken right out of our guests hands as they were eating from it.It was so rude. Luckily we weren't charged. Our server was great. Everything else was not. The bartender on the rooftop, George was fantastic!

Janan from down under was our server, she was the best, made sure we were served what we ordered and had us cut our steaks to make sure they were cooked as we requested and let me say my husband and I are still taking about our steaks. Overall everyone was extremely nice and very attentive. Definitely going back!

Service was terrible. Food took about an hour. Drinks were not good. I had to just stick wine after the 2nd bad drink. We took a look at the rooftop after dinner and it seemed nice. There for about 10 minutes only due to other plans.

We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant. They sat us at a table that was so wobbly we felt like we were on a seesaw. They tried to fix it but it didn’t work. The server finally showed up and took our drink order. From the time we entered until I received my glass of wine took 40 minutes. When the server started taking our order his iPad thing didn’t work and so I said shall I start over and he said no I got this. My husband ordered the wedge salad and I ordered the beet salad appetizer. So we waited again and my husband finally got his salad and they said we’ll bring two plates. I told them I had ordered the beet appetizer and didn’t need a second plate. It took so long to get the beet salad that they gave us a free glass of wine. They came over and fixed the table this time. Then the steaks were delivered. They were actually delicious. However, my loaded baked potato was cold. My husband’s garlic mashed potatoes were yummy and hot. By this time it was very late and we just wanted to leave so we did not raise the issue with the chef. We pretty much packaged everything up to take it home. And waited for the check. And waited. Another server asked if my husband would like some more iced tea while we were waiting and they brought him sweetened tea -- which is not good for a diabetic. For a restaurant that had only 5 tables of patrons we did an awful lot of waiting. I realize that there are many people who have rave reviews for this restaurant but that was not our experience.

I expected dining at a fine steak house. What we experienced was something else. The bread they served was obviously from a loaf that was purchased at the supermarket. The filet mignon we ordered arrived at our table luke warm. It tasted like day old meat that had been warmed up in the microwave. Way over priced! I will never dine there again.

We Came for Mother's Day Sunday brunch. They were very accommodating And polite. Accommodating because they allowed us to add 2 extra people when I called a couple days before our reservation date. However the service was very slow, it took nearly 2 hours for us to get our food. Our reservation was at 11:30 in the morning and we did not finish our food until nearly 3:00 p.m. because of all the delays. Their brunch food was pretty good, we enjoyed it.

place was nice and so were the servers but could improve in the service. We recently went for Brunch for Mothers day...it was not busy at all. The men was the same for everyone. Our party received their food but my mother was still waiting for hers and i was waiting for the rest of my order..you would think it would be quick since its the same food for everyone. So the server told us he apologized and since its the same food for everyone, all servers were just grabbing plates and distributing them. So people after us got their food before...i just think they need to be more organized.

It took 15 minutes before we were approached by a waiter. There was no silverware on the table and everything was very disorganized. We spoke to the manager but he did not seem to care. They were out of one of the items we ordered and the food was fair. The restroom looked like a restroom in a 1 star restraurant. I would not recommend. Don't waste your money and go somewhere else.

Went to Mi Cielo with a party of 8 to celebrate an early mother's day on a Friday night. We all ordered different items on the menu; from the Salmon, the 12oz Prime Top Sirloin Steak, to the seared brussel sprouts; everything was very flavorful! For dessert our table shared the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and the Lava Cake and both desserts were delicious! Overall, attentive Waitress, beautiful decor, nice atmosphere and delicious food.

The service was attentive and friendly and this new dining venue in Downey is set in a refurbished bank building with floor to ceiling windows, exposed brick, wooden floors--beautifully decorated inside and the outside patio is lovely with statuary and the rooftop overlook. Starters (wedge salad and chicken tortilla soup were good), but my main course was fairly disappointing--short rib--although large--was very tough--nothing fell off the bone--and the roasted brussels sprouts we very undercooked and difficult to chew. I will probably give the restaurant one more try since it's in such a lovely spot and Downey is in need of a high-end restaurant. Hopefully the chef will get up to speed or be replaced. Will keep you posted.
