The staff was pleasant which is what I look for when dining out.
Delicious menu and fabulous drinks! I've been twice and would go back again! Highly recommend
Great food and drinks!
It was really good, the ambiance was everything can’t wait to go again.
Mi Casa's cuisine is delicious, with a twist on Tex-Mex standards. We had tropical guacamole and there was a piece of roasted corn pudding (I think?) that came with the fajitas that was a fabulous savory surprise. The manager and our waiter Toren took excellent, attentive care of us, and there is plenty of COVID-safe outside space.
I'm still not a fan of the nachos, as I disagree with using liquid cheese sauce on them, but that's a minor quibble! Have the super-fresh ceviche, or the guac & salsa, instead...
Great place! Food was fantastic. Their happy hour deals were really good. And the service was excellent! Will be coming back.
The food here was absolutely delicious! And I loved the cocktails as well. The ambience is perfect for a night out or date night. The day of the dead menu was top notch and I totally recommend it!
Great menu and food. The bartender is completely burned out. In these times, I completely understand it, it’s been a really stressful time for everyone. That said, this guy has had his run, in customer service. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone so condescending to customers. Between that and mentioning 15 times to everyone that walked in that they might be closing the kitchen early because everyone wanted to go home, it was pretty unpleasant. Other than that, nice place.
The food was soooo great. The cocktails seemed a bit watery but not a deal breaker at all. We would definitely come back
I did not enjoy the meal. I will not be returning. The service was not good. I had to leave my table to ask for the check.
Everything we ordered was delicious. We tried from the Happy Hour menu.
The flautas were amazing, and the empanadas were tasty too!
The only comment is the server was too present. Every few minutes, they came to ask if we needed anything or if everything was good.
It just felt overbearing a bit but he was friendly.
Great service. Felt welcomed for my birthdday. The ribs are a best kept secret.
Fresh food and great ambiance. Recommend the nachos!
The drinks and food were amazing. Recommend getting "La Fiesta" as a meal for a big party or date night. A lot of food. Good range of tequila. Service was amazing. Connor was a great server.
It was great,
The food was delicious, the cocktails were pretty and tasty, the service was great and we loved the enclosed porch. We will be back!
Best salsa ever!!! I ate so much chips and salsa I couldn’t eat my food
Great job with the space and very happy to have Mi Casa in the neighborhood. I do wish their salsa was better (like Lauriol Plaza) and it was quieter inside but otherwise a good experience.
Cool atmosphere and great drinks! Food was really good as well.
Had a wonderful experience. Food, service and ambiance were excellent.
We had pina coladas, deviled eggs, steak fajita burritos and churros with chocolate sauce .
Great food and service - definitely a place to go again.
Staff were fantastic and food was delicious!
This place was good not great- we thought the food was overpriced for what we got. Overall worth a try though
We went to Taco Tuesday and sat outside. It was a little noisy at first with street traffic, but the noised died down after awhile. The Happy Hour food was very good. You have to like spicy food, though. Also would have appreciated more vegetarian options for those who don't eat meat or fish. We also ordered the guacamole which was spicy and delicious. It wasn't on the Happy Hour menu. Also, they didn't have a Happy Hour margarita, which disappointed one member of our party. Overall, though, it was great and I would recommend it!
Good service, good food, outside tables — we certainly will be back.
Mi Casa is a new addition to Dupont Circle, and they are trying very hard. Caveat: I'm from California and quite spoiled when it comes to authentic Mexican cooking, so I may be a bit more critical when it comes to the food. First, the service is outstanding--very attentive, accommodating, and on par with five-star restaurants. My husband and I sat outside and it was a warm day with the sun beating down on a number of the tables. We were lucky to get one that was partially shaded but the staff had to deal with patrons who expected the sun to realign in the sky according to their heat tolerance--the restaurant was patient in the face of seriously unreasonable and unpleasant diners. Our meals were quite good--fish and al pastor tacos, and a side of the chipotle corn. The gratis sides of charro beans were welcome and delicious. The cost of the overall meal was the big downside--at least twice as much as this meal would cost in most other "regular" Mexican restaurants. The entrees were quite pricey as well. I will return to try other dishes at Mi Casa, as the overall experience was very positive.
They were a little behind on getting us our first round of drinks but they comped them so that was quite nice. They also forgot one of our appetizers and we had to remind them right about the time that our main courses came out. Overall the food and cocktails were pretty good but not worth the inflated prices. Keep in mind that most entrees do not come with any side dish. You could definitely sense that the restaurant was working out the kinks but that is to be expected with a recent opening. I love deviled eggs but I would NOT recommend the chorizo deviled eggs. They have an off putting taste. I would recommend the guacamole even though it is overpriced.
Great staff and lovely ambiance.
But was annoyed that when various cocktails on the menu weren’t available, because the staff are “not allowed by management” to make the named cocktails when something is missing…that we had to argue with bartender and waiter to get them to make an approximation of the missing drink.
So odd. Speaking as a former bartender, you *always* have a Plan B. You don’t just tell the customer, “no you can’t have that, and no, we won’t make it with that one ingredient missing.”
Also, the nachos are covered in the dipping cheese sauce that’s served as per of another appetizer.
It makes them gloppy. Ugh.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The Bartender I had was amazing. She was totally fantastic...fully aware of the menu...and was just totally hospitable... I would totally have gone to her again
Very nice upscale Mexican food
Everything was fine. Nothing about the food was exceptional. A bit over priced for slightly above average food. But the service was really good
Mi Casa is not a Mexican restaurant. It is some kinda wannabe but doesn’t know how. I had sangria which was so sweet I had to ask the server to put seltzer water in it (it was still too sweet). My husband had a margarita which was pretty much water. I had an enchilada stack and my husband had rolled enchiladas. The sauce was pretty bad, not Mexican but some maybe upscale version of a red sauce and green sauce. There was lots of chicken in both the stacked and rolled. We had a cheese appetizer. The cheese was so tough that it was difficult to cut with a steak knife. Actually when the server put the cheese on the table - he walked away. We had to ask another server to give us plates and he came back with the serving utensils and plates (nice of him). I so wanted to find a good local Mexican restaurant but Mi Casa is a long way from good. We won’t go back. Too bad.
Amazing experience from the food to the service to the atmosphere!
I ate here for the first time and now will become a regular. Mi Casa is all you want in a neighborhood restaurant - a friendly, comfortable vibe, great food and service, good value. The food is ample, well presented and really good. I ordered enchiladas, my friend had shrimp and steak fajita and we both praised our choices. The service on a busy Saturday night was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly, patient, courteous, describing dishes and helping us make choices. The manager stopped by tables, greeted everyone and made us feel special. We had an outside table so conversation was easy, a big plus for us. Definitely will go back soon.
Perfectly fine meal. Nothing super memorable except guacamole was a touch creamy for my liking
Wonderful. We really enjoyed the food and the service. Highly recommend
Friendly service, cute ambiance, good food. A little pricey for what we got.
We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Jade was a perfect guide...giving us great recommendations for drinks, appetizers, and entrees.
Food was delicious! Service was quick and efficient. The only downfall was the mosquito infestation. They need to offer bug repellant to make for a more pleasant experience. Other than that it was a good time!
