A small intimate restaurant that is Just simply Outstanding!

Mezzo was, as always, a delicious experience.
We got the schnitzel and chicken piccata, with a salad and wine.
The creamy garlic dressing was the best dressing I think I have ever had.
My schnitzel was so extraordinary- multi-layered in taste sensations!
Pork, potatoes, bacon, creamy sauerkraut - sauce. Yummy!

This was our first visit and we will definitely be going back. The service was good but not rushed. The food was well prepared and served hot.

I always love going to Mezzo - and my husband loves schnitzel night (Tuesday)! We are still only comfortable with outdoor dining and Mezzo has set up a very cozy dining area. The food is outstanding and love the fact that the menu changes all the time. They have a small 'favorites' menu and a large menu board that changes every visit. The staff is polite, efficient and very competent. Also love this is a family-run restaurant.

Always a very comfortable ambiance. The food is delicious. Even a simple dish has wonderful flavor and is well prepared. One of our absolute favorite places.

We enjoyed the restaurant very much, it is intimate and very lovely. Our communication with the waitress was a bit off, but they rectified problems quickly and we will return.

We wanted to eat outside and the restaurant made us feel very comfortable even though we were sitting in the parking lot. Watta ya goin to do? The food was very good, especially the chocolate soufflé and the mozzarella and tomato tower. It’s not the sort of place to go to when you just feel like going out due to the price, but for a special occasion, we look forward to going back and eating inside!

Great reataurant. Will go again. This time service from the kitchen was slow, even though we were an early arrival.

Our dinner was delicious, we ordered our entire meal from the specials board; Veal Involtini, Italian Fish Soup, and a delicious pasta dish with filet and mushroom cream sauce. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Very disappointed in this restaurant. We saw our waiter twice the entire time we were there. For the prices they charge the food was below average. Will not be returning.

We had dinner with our daughter and son in law.
Caprese salad was amazing. Schnitzel was right out of Germany. A perfect dinner.

The ambience was lovely; and the four of us liked our meals.
The only negatives for me were that our food didn't all come out
at the same time; and the spätzle was was a little too wet and mixed into the
food instead being served as a side dish.

Love going there. The menu changes all the time and is always great. The owners are engaged and always listen.

Everything about this place is fabulous!!!! Great food, great service and great ambiance. There are about 8 more menu items I want to try. It was tough making a decision. Can’t wait to go back!!

Our second visit and all was delicious just like the first time. The Duck Breast with fig over tagliatelle cooked perfectly with wonderful flavor and the mushroom schnitzel was also delightful. We will certainly be back!

Chef Nick and his wife are wonderful hosts, providing for a wonderful evening. The menu is varied and excellent. The locale is quiet adding to the enjoyment of conversation. The service is on-point and knowledgeable....and non-obtrusive (Thanks JR). What more can I say other than we went twice during our time in Charleston.

Let me begin with that the restaurant is quite lovely. I liked the ambiance. Now...the food is just OK. It is QUITE overpriced for the quality. We also had an extremely long wait - over an hour for our food. Our waiter never mentioned anything, but the female bartender apologized after about 45 minutes. She was polite. I was still patient at this point, but asked if our soufflé order had already been put in. We ordered the soufflé before we ordered our food. (26 minutes to prepare) I was assured it was being made. It was not. We did not get the dessert until 30 minutes later. I was quite disappointed. The chef came out and apologized a couple of times, not only to our table but a couple others “everything is prepared fresh”. Well, if you charge those prices, it would be great to have a better flow. And again, it was very mediocre. For a better dining experience and better prices, try Nico or Red Drum. Acme on IOP (beachside open air) is a casual atmosphere but the food is amazing and better priced. It was our first visit to Mezzo. We were disappointed and will not return.
PS...They charge tea by the glass. Enough said about overpricing????

Our second trip and they’ll be many more. Outstanding food - very European. Selection is impressive - makes it hard to choose which is a good problem to have.

What can we say about this place, besides that it was amazing! From the moment you walk you notice that this restaurant is something different! The fresh flowers and candles on every table and dime lighting give the place a really cosy feel. The food itself was absolutely amazing... being from Europe and having lived in the US for the past year and a half we really missed good, tasteful, fresh, authentic European food... Boy did this place deliver on that! The mussels were spot on and the schnitzels were just... WAUW! We finished the evening with a chocolate soufflé... please leave room for it is you love desserts - you will not be disappointed! We were so blown away that we went back the next evening for more!
