Our go to when visiting our son at Williams .best option in the area
The food is creative and great on any level. The staff - everyone we encountered - were exceptional. A wonderful dining experience.
Great 👍 love it!
Very nice restaurant, a great evening for all the family !
Excellent food, service and wine! Highly recommended if you are in the area!
Service was terrible waitress didn’t seem to have a handle on menu or wine list or beer list. Out of many wines and beers on a Friday night. Unable or unwilling to provide substitutions and then allowed it for one of us and not another.
Many empty tables, yet time choices for reservations (open table and phone) were limited.
The space is nicely decorated, cozy but clean and modern. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The food and drink choices were very well executed. We are "foodies" and were very happy with our meals! Portions are on the small size but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Best food we have had in the Williamstown area!
The food was all excellent! Let the bartender surprise you with mystery drink (you choose the spirit) and order the hen of the woods small plate of available. Order other things, sure, but don’t leave without eating the hen of the woods ragu!
Mezze is some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. I have been many times an never had a single thing I didn’t like. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Great service, from the welcome at the door to the check on the way out. I loved the 'Staff menu' specials, especially the Amaretto Sour - great, creative, and affordable.
The Mezze Bistro + Bar tactile experience — food, ambience, elegantly casual service, understated decor, lively and beautiful crowd — is of those rare earthly occasions of perfection. Management has a gift for attracting staff passionate about the business, front and back of house. The menu is a thrill to read and imagine and somehow narrow down one’s choices. The gracious small touches — taking our coats without fuss, gratis sweets delivered with the check, an impression of all being glad to welcome us — add up to Materpiece.
Mezze is always a beautiful meal in a warm, welcoming environment. Interesting menu that changes often. Great wines and cocktails. Excellent service. I try to come whenever I’m in Williamstown.
Every dish is prepared with care. Every dish. Every time. Distinct flavors and perfect preparations. Never had a meal anywhere that was better.
New Year's Eve dinner was fabulous. Started with Pemaquid oysters which were succulent. My husband ordered
duck and thought it was some of of the best ever. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Fabulous food, great ambience. Why this is one of our favorite dining spots
Terrific food, lovely atmosphere, but abysmal service. Plates and silverware were removed and never replaced. The main entree for our son arrived 30 minutes after the rest of our food without any explanation. The waitress ditched us mid-way through our meal (again no explanation) and we were served by other staff members for the rest of our meal. We would have felt fine with this treatment in a pizza joint, but it detracted from the rest of the experience so much that I'm not sure we'll ever return.
I love Mezze normally, and their kale caesar salad was as excellent as ever this time. The salmon crudo appetizer was a disappointment-- very acid flavors that drowned out the salmon and other ingredients. I also found the main menu for entrees ranged from uninspiring (variations on plain roast meat with veggies that could easily be cooked at home) to downright repellent (beef heart with tallow crumbs sounds like something people might have been forced to resort to during WWII). I wound up ordering the cavatelli from the staff menu which was fine, but not quite the gourmet luxury experience I was hoping for. Overall, more good food than not at our table but not up to its usual standard.
Delicious cocktails and small plates. Special table. Overall delightful experience as usual.
Mezze always delights. The food is excellent and different from most good restaurants. The chefs are creative. Some of the combinations sound strange but taste really wonderful. Staff is attentive. The dining room is very comfortable. Make sure to make a reservation on Friday or Saturday.
Great spot! Food is delicious. Staff is great. We got free gummy candies! We eat here all the time!
What a unexpected surprise. It's a jewel of a restaurant. The cuisine is interesting without being fussy, the service first rate and the ambience pleasing.
Delicious food, inventive but not far out, service was attentive and friendly, in a lovely, almost home-like (elegant home!) setting.
Best in town!!! The place to go for great food. We've never had bad experience.
Came to Mezze for my mother's 66th birthday. Price was well worth the quality of food and service. Due to a last minute issue, I also brought my 2 yr old daughter with us. I would not recommend Mezze as a place to bring children, but if you must an earlier reservation and a well behaved child - they were very sweet to her. Bringing her crayons and being patient with her one or two animal noises. Food was amazing, price was doable, and staff was top notch!
My husand and I enjoyed our dinner at Mezza. Although the menu is limited, the food was innovative with good size portions. At the waiters suggestion, we had the Georgia Candy Roaster which was a remarkably delicious appetizer. Look forward to our next visit.
We have been visiting our child at Williams College for 4 years and dinner here has always been a highlight!
Extremely disappointed given other reviews. Food at best was mediocre. Pumpkin arrancini were bland. One of the three arrancini tasted gamey. Perhaps the cheese inside was a bit off. Crispy octopus was full of sand and not cooked enough at the larger end of the leg making it unmalleable. Garganelli had the strangest spice blend. Not a good night overall.
Wanted a special place to take our Williams students on Family Days Weekend. This was excellent.
Occasionally you encounter a wait staff person who really adds to the experience. Alexandra is that person - knows food and wine, is upbeat and enthusiastic about her work and the restaurant, and is beyond thoughtful and helpful. The menu descriptions can be a tad opaque and you'll benefit from knowledgable explanations. We have eaten here several times, and this was the best. We recommend the restaurant highly.
Food: Delicious, as always. Wine list is quite respectable. Highly recommend the kohlrabi salad, pate, and any fish on the menu. Ambiance: Comfortable, softly lit. A very large group was seated next to us and though they were a bit loud at times, it was well absorbed in the space. Service: Very attentive but the check was brought before we’d asked for it and while we were still enjoying dessert and coffee. Overall: highly recommend, food will not disappoint. Our favorite go-to when visiting Williamstown
Ate here the last night of a three night stay in the Berkshires. If I had known about it before I would have eaten here every night.
This is a pricey restaurant, we spent $250 for four people, but by-and-large you get what yo pay for.
The greeting, seating, and water/bread serving was exemplary, as was the food. the food/drink service, however was sloppy - we felt like we were in a diner, not an upscale restaurant. Service was slow, the waitress forgot what wine we had ordered and brought something else, which we had to send back, and her general approach was decidedly nonchalant. But apart from that - a nice evening with our daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. The food was amazing. Wish there were a few more entree choices, but the two my husband and I had were fabulous and creative. We started with the kale salad and mussels as appetizers followed by the duck and the garganelli for our entrees. The chocolate pie and decaf French press were a perfect finish to the meal.
Beautiful location, great ambiance, spectacular food, and exceptional service. A bit of a drive for us but so worth the trip!
The room is casually stylish and well-designed, and the light comes as a surprise in midtown. The food is always good, portions are just right, and the staff couldn't be nicer.
Been going to Mezzo since they opened, about ten years ago. Consistently high quality. Service is very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent, I had duck, my husband had octopus orecchiette , both very fine. The duck is only cooked medium -rare, as the chef likes it. I was fine with that. For dessert I had apple fritters with caramel sauce which were quite delicious. Got a lovely pot of coffee all to myself and we got a nice little post-dessert of chocolate cookies on the house. Comfortable, relaxing, friendly, warm, welcoming and good food too. What more does anyone want?
next time we will plan a dinner during the week when fall foliage is over
Mezze is a go to restaurant when you want a chef prepared dining experience. The staff is friendly, the tables are distanced well and the food is yummy. The menu is very limited but everything we ordered was delicious.
I've had some great dishes at Mezze, some average dishes, and the other night two failed entrees. At this price point, I'm afraid it's not worth the risk for me to try again. I wasn't charged for the failed entrees, which showed great customer service.
