Williamstown is also served by Peter Pan Bus (800-343-9999) and Bonanza Bus (800-343-9999) companies.
Read the reviews and took a chance. Was staying in Williamstown and well worth the effort to have dinner there. Only issue is the parking or if you have a handicapped person in the group. Need to drop them off!
The atmosphere was energetic and the food was great. The service was very slow. Took over 2 hours to have a meal which never happened before.
The venue is charming as is the ambiance. The two receptionists were delightful - very customer service oriented and attentive. The food was very good - we had the steak, the lima beans and the pork belly and to start we enjoyed the Marcona almonds, Hen of the Woods (mushrooms) and the melon soup - all were delicious. Our waitress explained the dishes thoroughly to set our expectations. The one area of improvement aside from the dessert menu would be to speed up the service - even when the restaurant cleared out after the pre-theatre rush and there were only a few tables left, the food took a while to come out and we ended up asking the hostess for the check as we could not find our waitress. The dessert menu was rather limited so we opted out, but the overall experience was great and we will definitely be back.
The dinner at Mezze with our two 14 year old nieces was a wonderful experience. The food was locally sorced, fresh, and presented in a very appealing manner. When up in the Berkshires again, we would certainly return.
An exciting menu set the tone for this pleasant restaurant. We enjoyed all three "snacks;" fresh, seasonal appetizers (cold cantaloupe soup for one, heirloom tomatoes with marscarpone for another); and very nice entrees. The vegetarian lima dish was hit, as was the pork belly. I should have asked for more details about steelhead trout, because it turned out to be more like salmon than trout. Desserts slightly missed the mark: the peaches and mascarpone was topped with a meringue that was not included in the description, and which took away from the exquisite creaminess of the concoction. The brownie/pudding was tiny and held only a morsel of brownie. However, overall we were delighted with our experience here and it really verges on excellent.
Everything was wonderful...my favorite restaurant in the Bershires area. Nice wine list. Bread was warm and delicious. I had the Chicken Confit that was fabulous and my husband's bolognese pasta was excellent. Even the mixed greens salad was great! Dessert was inventive and light....perfect end to a suburb meal.
Limited menu, but dishes all well thought out and well prepared, professional service, lovely ambience where you can actually hear your table mates. Better than most of the competition.
The best meal I have had in the Berkshires in nine summers! Truly well executed and delicious.
Absolutely loved Mezze. The ingredients are phenomenally fresh and the dishes are so creative. We had the green bean Caesar and Blistered Shishito Peppers - both were amazing. Our main course was the New Bedford Scallops - simply exquisite. We savored ever bite. We split a quart tart which had the freshest blueberries. We can’t wait to return to this exceptional restaurant
The food was lovely and the garden is amazing. The inside architecture is very nice and matches to the great surrounding. The staff was very friendly and nice to our two children
Mezze has great food and service. On this evening (Saturday, August 4), we were in the smaller, back room with 12 women at another table. Their voices and laughter were annoyingly loud. We were able to move to another table, but I suggest that when you have a large party, you don’t seat small parties in the same room.
I always love mezze, but i wish they would change the menu more frequently and offer just a few more options. The dessert menu is always different which I appreciate. Our go-to for a nice meal! And bring back comfort sundays!
Ate here while visiting Williamstown for the weekend. What a surprise! The food was very special and creative. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
Farm fresh food, inventive cuisine, great service.
The service, food selection(menu),food(Lima beans!) and overall dining were outstanding- -really very very good.
Beautiful setting and interior decor. Food is creative and very well prepared. Staff is friendly and attentive. I will always dine here when I visit the Berkshires.
Pre-theater. Lovely food and attentive, warm service.
We couldn't have been more delighted with our visit to Mezze. From our welcome to warm and informed waitress to the quality and originality of taste sensations of every dish; from the oh-so-lovely in the woods setting to well-spaced for conversational ease tables, we enjoyed every morsel and every minute.
The appetizers - peppers & hen-in-the-woods mushrooms - were delicious. For the main course, the Garganzelli was great. HOWEVER - the meatball main course dish was totally undistinguished (rather like reheated lunch meat) - nothing distinctive about it. The coconut cake was too fine and tasted 'dried out'....that said, the service was cheery and attentive.
Wonderful meal from start to finish. It was so pleasant to sit out on the deck on a beautiful summer evening. The hen of the woods mushroom appetizer was fantastic and, though I didn't like the sound of watermelon in my gazpacho, that was delicious and so refreshing. The entrees were both terrific as well. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, but not at all intrusive. It was a great pick for an early dinner before hitting the theater in Williamstown. When I'm back in the area, I would love to return!
Divine. This is the sort of place you talk about for years to come and would drive back to for a sampling of new seasonal dishes.
Delicious cocktails. Very reasonably priced and diverse wine list.
Excellent service - the waiter was kind enough to split our portions so it felt more like a tasting menu.
The food was just excellent - so fresh in its ingredients and deceptively simple combinations that played on all corners of your tastebuds. And being located amid rolling hills and trees, ponds, etc. really set up for a special atmosphere.
When I made the reservation, I explained that we weren't sure exactly when we would arrive, because we were going to Tanglewood, and didn't know when the concert ended or how bad the traffic would be. As it happened, there were at least 2 other tables for 2 empty during our dinner. However, when I got home, I got an email saying our reservation had been cancelled 5 minutes after the time of the reservation. As it happened, we arrived about 8 minutes after the time of the reservation. This was like a slap in the face. The food was good, and the service was very good. Our first table was very noisy, so they graciously changed it. The servings are not huge and the prices are expensive, but we knew this ahead of time. I guess the prices compare with those in a big city, which we're not used to. I would certainly recommend Mezze to a rich friend.
We've been to Mezze many times and we are never disappointed. The food is inventively and carefully prepared; the environment is lovely and unpretentious, and the service is excellent. We look forward to every visit.
I go to Mezze once a summer when in the area- used to look forward to it. The menu gets less interesting with each visit. My last visit was extremely disappointing- slow unfriendly service, dishes delivered out of requested sequence with a half hour in between, poorly executed dishes, warm beer, staff ganged up in corner texting instead of working. I hope they can turn themselves around.
Waiter went out of his way to make our dinner special, answering all our questions about unfamiliar ingredients and wrote down the names of the wines we had so we could find them when we got home.
From appetizer to dessert the meal I had was outstanding. My wife had the duck. She was not as happy thought it was over cooked.
Mezze's food is well prepared, but the menu is limited and doesn't change much. The appetizers are especially limited and are not very imaginative. The rib eye is overpriced.
We love Mezze and go there whenever we go to Williamstown for theatre, which is several times over the course of our stay in the Berkshires. The food is inventive and well prepared, the setting is delightful and the service is excellent. We've tried many restaurants in the region and Mezze is among our very favorites. We look forward to our visits and always feel welcomed when we return.
Great food and excellent service! It's very close to Williamstown, so it's a perfect spot for a pre-theater meal.
Dinner and a show
Our annual pick for pre-theater dining! Food is good, predictably delicious, staff is friendly and efficient, atmosphere is charming.
Overall amazing place. The hostess staff needs further training on customer service.
This was my second visit to Mezze in 2 years. The setting is bucolic, with a stream and tiny stone bridge on the grounds. It's convenient to the motel where we stayed and to the Williamstown Theater.
One of the best meals of my life. The beet soup was incredible- the duck was superb. The coconut cake was perfect
The food is usually wonderful here, but one of our party ordered a steak rare, after a discussion with the waiter about what that would be, and it arrived well done. He sent it back and the replacement came out immediately -- but it was purple and almost cold inside. The chicken another guest ordered was tough. Salads were wonderful and the mushroom small plate was spectacular. Service was very responsive. Lovely atmosphere, and the best dining choice in the area, but room for improvement.
Mezze Bistro is an attractive, picturesque restaurant with very good service. Unfortunately, the menu is inferior to restaurants in the same price and ambience- range. Food quality was excellent - very good ingredients, and very fresh - but there are simply too few options. It's a very small menu, so diners are left with little choice to match their preferences, esthetic or dietary.
Good points- the beet soup was excellent, and the re-imagined Caesar salad was very good. Week points - the ziti with ragu was mediocre, neither bad nor good; worse, the flagship steak was very poor.
Local sourcing is great. However, extremely lean beef, with no fat to flavor, has the texture and flavor of a piece of jerky - except jerky has smoke and seasonings (perhaps moist shoe leather is a better analogue). The texture and flavor were further undermined by a cooking process that left no sear - and no corresponding sear flavor. I saw no point in sending it back - it had been clearly prepared this way deliberately. I know this a is strong opinion, but having had great steaks in Ogunquit a few days later (in two different restaurants - me at one, my wife at the other) , my opinion of Mezze's steak preparation has gone even further lower.
Summary - a more expansive menu would help improve Mezze. It's got a lot of good things going for it - servers were very attentive, and it's got a beautiful setting, inside and out - but the menu needs to step up. It's an affluent clientele - the food should be better. Given that this particular stretch of Rt 7 has few good restaurants, this visitor to the region would have been much happier if Mezze was better.
Excellent as usual. Service and the food exceeded our expectations (as usual)
The food was amazing
The service was superb
The atmosphere great
