Great menu (lots of interesting small dishes) and very good food quality. Everything was delicious!
Outstanding food! We had the chief's selections menu, pricey but spectacular. The service was also excellent.
An excellent, authentic food. The owners, are very kind and gracious people. My favorite restaurant in the area!
Really good food, but the service just wasn't there add the place was not that busy, for which we'd otherwise understand. The drinks were left empty for too long, food service left unfulfilled (missing parts of our order). I'd return but hopefully this gets their attention to address their service issues.
If you are interested to have real Turkish food - this is it. It does not get much better than this. Go have some amazing appetizers, drink some Raki, wonder how you will fit in the exquisite main and then be surprised that you were able to eat the desert on top!
Wonderful people, amazing food - finally a Turkish restaurant that we can actually recommend!
Great for lunch biz.
A great place to experience unique delicious food. The staff is very helpful in explaining each dish. We went with a group of five and ordered the meat and fish special dinners of many different dishes. An excellent way to taste many different dishes in one evening. Servings are generous as are the wine pours.
Bday great table
Excellent ethnic delicious food! Warm hospitality!
Mey House imbues with Turkish delight (food perfection not the candy). I met Revnak, one of the owners, who explained daily dinner specials and the many Turkey region offerings. Conveniently most of the dishes had regions noted in parentheses. Two cold mezes - beets drizzled in olive oil and ground pistachio, kopoglu fried eggplant in tomato/garlic yogurt sauce - dipped sauces with baked pides (similar to airy flat bread). Red lentil soup texture was light and flavored with mint/olive oil. Incik - lamb shank with mint, sour cherry, on top of roasted eggplant puree that had delicate, airy flavors to complement the roasted/baked lamb. Ended with turkish coffee and kunefe dessert - shredded wheat filled goat cheese with plenty of ground pistachio and sugary syrup. View of fresh wood-burning oven and its continuous use for patrons dinners added to the mystic of Turkey. Must go to experience Turkish culinary perfection in Sunnyvale!
This restaurant reminds us the food we had in Istanbul. The Mezes, the hot bread, delicious! The main course meat is tender and flavorful! The hostess was very friendly, explain the Today's menu, even took a group picture for us. Overall, this is the best food we had for a long time. Will for sure coming back, and bring our friends!
The food is always great. We as family love going to Meyhouse
Amazing place with great food and owners!
Everything was delicious!! Service is amazing!!
Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Meyhouse. The wait staff was pleasant, informative, fun, enthusiastic and helpful in answering our questions. Our food (muhammara and borek for appetizers; mousakka, manti, kofte, and kusleme for entrees) was delicious and just as some of us had enjoyed in Turkey. Definitely a "return to" place.
The place is wonderfull. I really like it. I feel like I was in a restourant at Beyoğlu in Istanbul.
This is a fantastic place. Truly authentic Turkish cuisine that would rival the best restaurants in Turkey easily (yes, I’m Turkish and a foodie). Everything is home made with love and diligence. The ingredients are of superb quality. No filler sides. Just pure goodness and taste. Expensive, but well worth it. I’ll be a regular for sure. Extremely highly recommended.
This weekend we went to Meyhouse with a large party. Although I felt the food was good, the value was just not there. Some more feedback;
The Good: As I mentioned, the food quality was very good. It was clear that they made their food fresh and took care in the quality of the food.
The Bad: The Services was meh...The place was noisy. Was crowded, which is good for them, but was hard to hear. Additionally, they had a pizza type oven next to the customer area. It heated up the entire restaurant and made it very uncomfortable. And frankly, i didnt even see them cooking anything in it. So i have no idea whats they use it for.
Additionally, and not trying to "nit-pick" but we ordered a diet coke. If your trying to be an "upscale restaurant" and charge a premium, dont bring me a can. Bring it in a glass and offer refills. Dont be that cheap.
The UGLY: The portions were very small. And we were very disappointed in the accessories to the meals. The main courses didnt really come with anything. Not even rice! How expensive is RICE?! They charged us $6 for rice!! Thats just insane.
The Adana Kebab came with 1 skewer. For $32 I'd expect at least 2 skewers and rice. Its ridiculous that they charge that much for just 1 skewer. Especially for a dinner portion.
Additionally, the "small plates" were all over $10. Even @ Oren's Hummus, you can get the same type of dishes for $6. They should have some tasting platter for $15 with a few options and all other dishes should be no more than $8. Its a "small plate" FFS, dont charge over $10 thats crazy.
Overall, again the food was good and fresh. But between the relatively poor service and insane pricing, we're not going to go back. I wish this restaurant the best as its new. Hopefully they read this and take this feedback to heart.
In the meantime, highly suggest you goto Dish Dash right down the road. Good food for a good price.
Meyhouse is a very very special restaurant. They bring the very best of Turkish food to the Bay Area! Their food is not only absolutely delicious but also extremely sophisticated and authentic. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have this dining experience so far from Turkey. Regardless of whether you are familiar with Mediterranean/Turkish/Middle Eastern food or not, you will be blown away by Meyhouse.
Amazing food, fresh with a great variety. This is one of a kind in the Bay Area.
Great Food and great service!! Our waitress was attentive and went above and beyond expectations! We will definitely be back again!!
Great food and service - everything was super fresh. The bread is simply amazing. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
Gthe ow er took special care of our group of 4.We had very specific dietary needs(gf,vegan,no dairy. They bent over backwards to please us and did an outstsnding job. The owner was very gracious, enthusiastic and so personable. Thwe food was so amazing. Fresh, hot, lovely to look at,and so tasty. We were overwhelmed and cant wait to visit again.
Tasty menu with an excellent service. They are serving variety of tapas(mezzes) plates which perfectly pairing with Turkish liqueur which calls Raki. I highly recommend to try Girit( pistachio covered cheese) , patlican ezme ( toasted eggplant) , Inegol kofte( meatballs). All were super delicious. They also offer you some daily specials which worth to try.
We are looking forward to go back!!
Very creative and good food. Plenty of vegetarian choices too.
Good range of appetizers that can be ordered to make a shareable fun meal by themselves.
OpenTable accepted reservations for 11:15am on Mother's Day and the restaurant doesn't open until 5pm. We were very disappointed. We were ready to have a nice meal for Mother's Day. We had to scramble to find another restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day dinner.
Excellent food and service! Will definitely go back. Best authentic Turkish food ever had!!
Delicious food and relatively good prices! I like the ambience and the music. One of the best Turkish restaurants in the Bay Area!
Food meh , slow service
Amazing food, awesome people!
The best restaurant to taste different Turkish food in tapas or meze style.
Good food and friendly service, but it is also very expensive, especially considering that many of their dishes have small portions!
Loved, loved, LOVED the food! We did one of the chef choice experiences and it was the best decision of the night. The food kept coming. It all paired perfectly with the wine. The place was just the right amount of dressed up while still keeping a mostly casual feel. Would 10/10 recommend this place. It is a brand new restaurant and had minimal service hiccups. Will definitely be back!
We’ve been to Meyhouse twice so far and at both times we left very happy. All the meze's and meat we had were fresh and similar to authentic Turkish food. However, I would especially recommend fish and seafood if you like them, because this may be the only place where you can find such special variety around the Bay Area and they were fantastic. Also, the atmosphere of this restaurant is great and the staff is very friendly and kind. They all try to make sure you have a great time. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a memorable dinner in a nice atmosphere.
