When we eat out, if fish tacos are on the menu, we order them. The fish tacos at MeXo are outstanding!
The back room was noisy, so we moved to a table in the bar area and had a wonderful meal.
All the staff are friendly and professional.
We will be back.
Awesome place and great service by Trevor. He dialed it up with suggestions, advice, and service.
Excellent, Appetizers are amazing
My husband and I are addicted to this amazing food. This is a top restaurant in Grand Rapids!
Will definitely go back and recommend to others. The only thing that was a little disappointing were the chips. Tasted like they were "from a bag" and too salty. But everything else was perfect.
Service was very GREAT, margaritas were spectacular, but the food was VERY bland. Would return for the cocktails
Outstanding. Beyond expectations. Amazing flavors. These are comments from my coworkers. It was their first time at MeXo. The private room and Server, Taylor were great. All the food was great. Most of the items on the menu were gluten free. My coworker still raves about the corn tortillas. This is the place to go for a special occasion.
The food was a welcomed departure from the “Mexican” food submerged in cheese and sauce, bastardized by cheap imitators. Ingredients were quality, flavor brilliant, savory, spicy, and acidic all where appropriate, and our server Jessica was kind and courteous.
I had been wanting to go back to MeXo for some time, as I had only sat at the bar for drinks and apps previously. And while the cocktails are really good, our Pulpo Ceviche was overdressed, and my stone soup was not what the waiter had said it was. It had mussels, shrimp and other white fish in it, and I was told it only had white fish in it. So the flavors were a bit randier than I would have liked, and the broth was fairly bland as well. My husband ordered the deconstructed tacos with the mushroom mixture. First, they brought him the wrong meal as the waitress accidentally put in the wrong thing in the system. This was quickly corrected. The mushroom mixture was like a bland paste, not good. I will continue to go back for drinks at the bar, but not a meal. While we understand right now staff is hard to come by and a bit slow for everyone as a result, they should at least get your orders correct and know the menu.
Last note, the ambience is a bit stale at this point and needs some energy. It is very bare minimum in there, lacks warmth, and the rotating slide show art on the wall is just weird and repetitive.
Our meal was absolutely delicious. Wonderful service too. Great experience.
Great place. Loved the big wooden table in the back
The food is amazing.. the chef cares tremendously about what he prepares and the food quality is superb!
Beautiful restaurant. Clean and Fresh.
Mural artwork is very stimulating out in the back covered patio.
LOVE the fancy Mezcal drinks too!
Clean , friendly staff , only reason for the 3 star Is the chicken in the enchiladas and flautas
Food was amazing, drinks were great. The decor was sparse and mishmashed - leaving the ambiance a little lacking.
Unique menu theme - Mexican before Spanish influence. Very personal service, including a visit from the chef. Tequila and Mescal selection was far ranging. Cocktail was unique and delicious. Food was well prepared and presented. Will certainly visit again and bring friends.
Great food and Excellent server!
Will be back for sure
MeXo is incredible. Finally tried the Caldo Piedra soup, which is cooked on the way to the table with a 500 degree stone. Amazing as everything else. Try some Tobala and Pechuga when you’re there!!
I’ll say it again. This is the best restaurant in town. Bartender Nate was wonderful. Made great drinks. Listened. Helpful. Food was beyond expectations. Delicious.
Absolute Mexo is my new favorite restaurant. You can feel how much time and love goes into this food. Thank you for sharing your passion with us! I would also, it’s says a lot about a restaurant (or any small business) when the whole team appears to be very happy.
Amazing, Oscar is a genius and Mexo is arguably one of the best restaurants in Michigan. I will visit anytime I am anywhere near GR.
Love the food, the cuisine, the drinks and ambiance!
Everything was delicious! Amazing from our drinks, to the guac, to our TACOS!! The pollo was my favorite! Yum!!
Overall, food received mixed reviews from our party. Fish tacos were outstanding, as was the guac and homemade chips. Chicken mole was OK, as were the mushroom tacos. Drinks were very subpar all around, especially the margaritas, which was especially disappointing. Even more so when you factor in the high cost of the drinks. Service was average, but I tend to give a pass in these challenging times, but a bit condescending. I highly doubt we will be back, nor would we recommend it to friends.
Really tasty food. The Mole' dish was fun for the kids.
Great service and food.
The best food and service. Cocktails were also great.
Food was excellent and service was personable.
MeXo was very accommodating to our large party size and our server - Nadya? was extremely patient. Food was more closely aligned with Mexican traditional than most "fusion" type restaurants in the area.
Planned a visit for Cinco de mayo and truly enjoyed the experience.
Was looking to try the mole sauce and was not disappointed!
We did not care for one of the "special" margaritas they had on the menu and our server removed it from our bill and replaced it with other main menu drinks.
Great and attentive service.
We will be back!
We had a great Cinco de Mayo meal with friends. The margaritas and the Sopa Azteca were outstanding! Also, our server Justin was amazing - very knowledgeable on the drinks and food, friendly and attentive. We’ll be back!
The service was great. The drinks were great. The food was phenomenal. Best restaurant in town.
Fantastic, fresh, healthy food and solid service. Quiet atmosphere. Felt very safe and clean. Staff was exceptional with food allergies.
Chef Oscar is brilliant! 🤩
Excellent service and food.
Extremely flavorful, well prepared food. Prompt, attentive service.
