Loved our server and the food. We met the chef and felt it was a nice touch to our experience.
We LOVE this place! The apps are always the best part. Two of us got the enchiladas rojas and one got the tamal stack. The tamal was salty and the enchiladas were underseasoned. Staff weren't as attentive this visit as they've been in the past, but they were overall okay. We'll keep coming back for the guacamole, queso fundido, and churros!
Excellent and creative menu. Great space. Delightful staff.
AMAZING! Not one thing was bad and we ordered more just to have leftover! Can't wait to go back again.
Excellent food and a perfect drink recommendations from one of the servers (Justin) who addressed my concerns with Mezcal’s smoky aftertaste.
Everything was lovely.
Even got a great photo of the family (who were visiting for the first time since before the pandemic) to celebrate my birthday.
Really great food! Many Gluten free options! Quiet and spacious.
Outstanding! Fabulous! Best restaurant and Chef in GR. You will have your tastebuds saying wow. People are friendly and helpful. Great drinks are made. Food is beyond description. You must experience this place.
We were seated late, told we couldn't grab a drink at the bar because the bartender was too busy (the bar area was nearly empty). We then were told they were down a server (which I am totally understanding about since no one can get staff right now). We got a water from the hostess. The server came to get our drink order and it took nearly 20min for him to bring a beer, and then I was told "they had to hunt down some mezcal for my drink" so mine came even later. Next we ordered chips and guac since it was going to be a slow dinner, they were both delicious but tiny portions for $9. Our dinner came, my tacos were good but had no sides for $18 and my date's dinner was flavorful but dry for $20. This was my second time at Mexo and I was unimpressed the 1st time, I don't think I'll give it a 3rd visit
Our waiter was fantastic! Great food!
Server was amazing, chefs special was exquisite.
Great food, eclectic, locally sourced. A bit over priced for 2 people. We each had a drink/meal, shared an appetizer, and shared dessert.
We were seated in a smaller back room with a group who were very noisy. Did not lend itself well to my husband and I on a date away from the kids to be able to chat over dinner. Would go again if seated in the main part of the restaurant.
Nice mix of fresh dishes. Service was outstanding..
Everything was outstanding from the service, waiter and food! Was definitely an experience and look forward to coming again!
Not cheap, but wonderful food, and a great dining experience.
After wanting to try this place for a long time, I finally did and it did not disappoint! Although we didn't order an entree, we had four apps and they were all delicious. The food came out super fast. Cocktails were excellent also.
Great food, great atmosphere and we will be back!!
Anniversary dinner but no one asked after putting it on the reservation 😕
We love the creativity of the kitchen!
Great authentic Mexican food. The mole was incredible. My new favorite spot.
We had multiple servers and did not receive silverware or appetizer plates until we asked for them. Our drink order took awhile to get done but the food was good and overall we did have a nice dinner. Just a few hiccups in the FOH.
They were short staffed and it took longer than usual to have proper service.
Has been wanting to try this place for a while so we made a reservation for our monthly girls night out. Seeing all the great reviews, we had high hopes. Well, we were very disappointed! The atmosphere is just strange. It feels like card tables set up in someone’s basement, with an eclectic decor and a slideshow taking up an entire wall, complete with a headshot of the chef….just odd. We expected a Mexican restaurant to be lively and fun, but there was NO music and it was just quiet and awkward hearing the conversations of the other diners around us (and knowing they could hear ours). The drinks were decent, but the food was definitely nothing impressive. I ordered the Carne Asada medium rare and it came out extra well done, half of it wasn’t even though edible. The presentation of all the plates just seemed like they were trying to hard (the rice patties especially). Our server was nice enough but we were just ready to get out of there ASAP so we didn’t finish our entrees and just cashed out. Such a strange experience that I hope to never have again! We love to try new places but this one is not it.
We had a wonderful meal with great cocktails. Our server recommended dishes and was so nice. The chef himself came out to make the soup and explained its origin in the prehispanic culture. Enjoyed the mole - will definitely go back for more. He changes it frequently.
Very nice time. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding!
The food is good and you can tell they make a point to scratch make as much as they can. The service is very slow. We ordered our second round of cocktails after our appetizer and before the main courses came out. We didn’t get them until we had finished our meals. Overall this is a good restaurant just need to work on service.
Our server, Trevor was awesome! Tequila old fashion was great. Food was great!
Fantastic experience on the patio!
Amazing food and excellent customer service!
Went to MeXo for my wife's birthday and it was an incredible experience. All of the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and the food was unique and absolutely delicious. Cannot wait to go back!!!
Food was amazing
Server was terrible - no personality, rushed us when she was present, and we didn’t order dessert simply because she never asked, just brought the check.
Wonderful food and service!
I will definitely come back!
When we eat out, if fish tacos are on the menu, we order them. The fish tacos at MeXo are outstanding!
The back room was noisy, so we moved to a table in the bar area and had a wonderful meal.
All the staff are friendly and professional.
We will be back.
We've been here three or four times and each time discover something new. Yes, you can get tacos here, but they are elevated by the ancient flavors and cooking methods this restaurant is known for. The food itself is delicious, but as a bonus, the dishes are visually stunning. A very long list of tequilas and mezcales are available. Best of all there is free parking immediately next door on weeknights and weekends.
Awesome place and great service by Trevor. He dialed it up with suggestions, advice, and service.
Excellent, Appetizers are amazing
My husband and I are addicted to this amazing food. This is a top restaurant in Grand Rapids!
Will definitely go back and recommend to others. The only thing that was a little disappointing were the chips. Tasted like they were "from a bag" and too salty. But everything else was perfect.
Service was very GREAT, margaritas were spectacular, but the food was VERY bland. Would return for the cocktails
Outstanding. Beyond expectations. Amazing flavors. These are comments from my coworkers. It was their first time at MeXo. The private room and Server, Taylor were great. All the food was great. Most of the items on the menu were gluten free. My coworker still raves about the corn tortillas. This is the place to go for a special occasion.
The food was a welcomed departure from the “Mexican” food submerged in cheese and sauce, bastardized by cheap imitators. Ingredients were quality, flavor brilliant, savory, spicy, and acidic all where appropriate, and our server Jessica was kind and courteous.
