The Aquachile Shrimp Ceviche offered a delightful blend of bold, fresh flavors that set it apart as a truly unique dish. I followed it up with the Carne Asada a la Tampiqueña 1939, which was nothing short of exceptional—easily one of the best flank steak dishes I've ever enjoyed. To complement the meal, I had the Palenque Margarita, which was perfectly crafted and ranks among the best Margaritas I've tasted. While the service was a little slow, it didn't detract from the experience, as we weren’t in a rush.

We highly recommend eating here! The food was authentic, fresh, and gluten-free. We shared the guacamole appetizer which was unique and amazing! My husband had the mole chicken enchiladas and I had the Mexican Flag chicken enchiladas. Tortillas were homemade and yummy. The sauces and chicken were very good. Gotta say that the creamy goat cheese sauce was a little weird. The only bummer was the ambience of the outdoor patio. It needed a little cleaning and music, and maybe a fan. Overall, don’t miss this restaurant!

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I thought the concept was great. And I do think the food is a cut above your average Mexican restaurant. I thought the menu was varied and had some interesting dishes that you, again, won’t find at the average restaurant. I’m basing my opinion on having a very limited sampling of the food. The chips and salsa duo was very good and one of them was very hot, which I loved. The guacamole was tasty but, for $12, was not a good value. Four of us shared it and we barely got a tablespoon each. The watermelon salad was delicious but difficult to serve when sharing it. I understand the presentation, but maybe better to cut the watermelon into cubes. The snapper was presented with a real flourish-under a dome of smoke! But the fish was overcooked. The salsa that covered it was delicious. I tasted my husband’s cochinita pibil which was also very good. The service was a bit off, and it felt like they didn’t quite know what they were doing. But everyone was friendly. Overall, I do like this place and will return for a taste of other dishes.

Definitely wouldn’t bring kids who aren’t Terribly adventurous. Kids menu was for little kids and regular menu didn’t have many offerings for older kids.
