My friend and I have Sunday lunch here fairly regularly after hitting Hot Yoga Revolution next door. The food is great. We love the Meximodo Salad with one of their margaritas or other signature cocktails. The chicken and waffles are great and and and! The service is good to great depending on the server. Truth be told, the service has never been bad. The only downside is the place can get really noisy and it makes conversation difficult. That’s literally my only dissatisfaction with this otherwise great establishment. Enjoy!

I went with a group of 3, the decor is so cute, and the wait staff was very attentive. I had the passion fruit margarita and it was tasty and strong. The table ordered the tres leches French toast, chicken and waffles , and corn pancakes. It was all incredible flavors. Chef Henry came to our table and we told him his menu was amazing.

The staff was very accommodating. We had few elderly and few people with allergies, the staff was able to provide table on the 1st since they had us setup for 2nd floor. The waiter marked all food on the menu that would cause allergies. It was a great experience.

This Metuchen restaurant is BOLD in every way. I was immediately captured by the punchy interior design. Festive colors, intricate tile work & a stunning mural paid homage to Mexican culture. No sad beige in sight. The same goes for their food. While it was soooo hard to narrow down choices from the brunch menu, we opted for the barbacoa omelette, the shrimp tacos & a side of yuca fries. We found Meximodo excelled at their sauces. Their drinks - both alcoholic & mocktail - also got a big thumbs up. I had the El Encanto which was gin, passion fruit, honey & lime. Highly recommend. If there is something Meximodo can improve on, it would be their service. In my reservation request, I added notes about my guest’s dietary requirements & the fact it was her birthday. The waiter did not provide “safe” suggestions from the menu as requested & did not acknowledge the celebration. The OpenTable notes should be read & addressed during service for an optimal experience. We also felt the hostess station was a bit disorganized. For our meal, we sat in the main dining room/bar area. There is also another space called “The Rose Room” that can host private events for up to 50 people. Feeling like dining al fresco? They have a wonderful patio too. Meximodo is also known for having a Guinness World Record for the largest agave spirits collection - over 1,000 different bottles! Keep an eye out this summer as Meximodo will open their second location in Jersey City. Buen Provecho! 😋
