We sat on the patio, and the food & drinks were great. Service was excellent as well!

We arrived a few mins early, hostess at the front told us to go upstairs. There was no one to greet us up there so we just stood there at the top of the stairs awkwardly for like 3 mins until someone finally came over. Then, they sat us at a table right next to a door to the patio that wouldn’t close all the way on the what was like, the hottest day of the year so far. Also, the tables close to the windows seemed like they were right under the AC vent but it didn’t seem like it was turned on. Which is crazy for Texas in July. We were looking at different restaurants that were close because we were about to get up and leave until someone finally came over after like 10 mins of no service being blasted by the heat anytime a server went to the patio. After that service was fine, and they were able to seat us at a table at a cooler spot. Food was good.

I’ve been to Mexican Sugar over 20 times at all DFW locations. For whatever reason the uptown location has the best views but the worst experiences every time it just gets worse and worse. First the AC was not working they had units trying to make it cool in there but it didn’t work AT ALL! Mind you they blamed it on the door opening and closing but never once told us the AC was out. (Didn’t find out about the units until we left) we waited 45 mins before we got our appetizers and then another 45 minutes before we got to even order our entree’s and then another 30 minutes by the time our food arrived. Even our water was room temp and the server only came back twice to ask if we needed more ice so we can stay fresh. IT WAS HOTTTTT. Literally one of the worst experiences I’ve had thus far. Even the Manager was rude.

Service was awful. Literally the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant in Dallas and I’ve lived here for 20 years. Our server took forever to take our order for drinks and food and didn’t bring us a water jug even though all the tables around us had one. One of our orders was wrong and he never came to check if the food was correct. We had to get another server to come to give us our missing items. Finally we asked for flour tortillas three times and never got any. If you don’t serve them that’s fine but no one told us you don’t serve them. We were there for an hour and a half and I ly got one drink order in. Ridiculous.

We went for my husband’s birthday and they truly had amazing food. Our server was polite, prompt, and took several photos of us when we asked. The table side margaritas were delicious and the bartenders preparing them were absolutely lovely. We will definitely be revisiting this downtown Dallas Gem. The ambiance, aesthetics, and vibes were top tier.

I had the best experience! Brent and Lugo the managers are super hospitable, they made sure I had the best time! Our server Dewayne took excellent care of us and checked back often ! Also made great recommendations. Can’t wait go to back !

Great food and drinks got the queso and just a chicken quesadilla and couldn't have gotten much better. Also got a classic marg with sugar on rim and it was great!

Great place to celebrate a birthday. They will accommodate large groups as well. The drinks are well worth it. I've had a handful of different items on the menu, and each time, it's superb. My group and I wanted to hangout at the bar after our meal, however it was full with people eating dinner. That would be my only complaint. Overall, it was a great experience.

We ordered the shrimp and ceviche and both are HORRIBLE! Took only a couple of bites and pushed to the side! We didn’t want to say anything to be rude, but the guy bartender upstairs, didn’t ask why we didn’t eat! The female bartender and the manager were amazing and the drinks were excellent!

The service was slow & manager seemed like he didn’t want to be there that day nor was his customer service the way it needed to be. Ended up having to ask a hostess to get what we were needing towards the end because the service never came back until it was time for the check.
