Mexican Bar Company
Enjoy a unique dining experience with "the MBC" ($30-$35 per person)
A sharing experience like no other, tailored to you and your guests table side. An amazing and unique way to experience Mexican Bar Company and all the flavors our menu has to offer. This experience is for the entire table and includes everything except your cocktails.
Seated promptly for our reservation. The bat area was very full and kind of noisy. The seated us away from the bar in a nice booth. Service staff and manager were amazing. Food was great!
Noise level made it very difficult to converse. Mojito was made from a mix although we were told it was not.
Very noisy! Skip the guacamole/queso trio - good but ordinary.
Amazing food and drinks! Especially their chicken dish that’s their specialty. Can’t recall the name but it’s delish!!
Service was top notch and so was the tasting experience.
Food was amazing! Service was not so great but we'll be back.
We told the hostess we had a reservation. She didn’t even look at it. She just walked to a table in side. We had requested patio seating. It took a second person to properly seat us. The manager began opening the sliding glass door. Knocked over a place setting. The glass hit the concrete. He commented he could believe it didn’t break. Instead of replacing the setting, he put it back on the table. Gross! Opening the glass doors ruined our experience. We wanted the outside ambience. The cold air from inside and the noise was opposite of why we wanted to sit outside. Opening the doors revealed tons for dirt and food crumbs on the floor. If you don’t take the time to clean there, what’s the kitchen look like. The wine pours are smaller than most places and the price per glass is higher than most places. $4.95 for a street taco is higher than mot places. Most of your meal prices are higher than most places. My draft beer came in a dirty glass. This was our second visit. We came during the first week of opening and vowed never to come back. We thought it might have been related to it being a new place. It’s obvious, there is no attention to details, cleanliness and general care about customer service. I am sorry, but I cannot give a good rating. You have too much competition in the area. We have a vast number of choices and it will take a huge change for us to return. You have work to do to improve. I just don’t understand the number of issues we experienced.
Very good food, corn tortillas with butter is a must! Queso very good. Service...Bonus!
Fantastic food and atmosphere. We will be coming back!
The food was good and this is a great restaurant. The only negative feedback I have is that it is very LOUD inside of the restaurant and hard to carry on a conversation without having to raise your voice. They just need to figure out away to work on the acoustics in this restaurant.
Very good tacos. A little pricey for 2 tacos, but somehow worth it. Drinks are good as well. Please offer happy hour to all patrons, not just bar.
Had a fun night out with friends. Fun vibe, friendly service and delicious food. Will definitely go back.
Great place for a business lunch; food is amazing.
Good food and service. I like the fun atmosphere but it is noisy. I had the enchiladas. Very good and would recommend.
Their chicken dish (the one that takes 30 min to cook) is outstanding!!!! I highly recommend it! Their sides are all wonderful! Tacos are all great! It’s our 3rd time back...
Always delicious...great margaritas, amazing ceviche, tacos, and chile relleno. Thanks!
Our experience was great. We did the tasting and our server picked our courses and it was very good. My only complaint was that it was very loud. It was hard to hear the conversation at our table and we could barely hear our server explain what the different courses were and that took away from our experience.
Our waiter came right away to ask for our drink order. He had our food come out fresh with no issues and provided amazing recommendations on both the drinking and dining menus.
The food is phenomenal but the service is horrible. Waitress got all the drinks wrong multiple times. She never came back to the table. The restaurant was empty and she was just chatting with a friend.
The food here was very good, though on the spicy side being more authentic Mexican. Selection was very limited and is geared towards the higher end, more expensive entrees. That’s ok except the food didn’t rate the pricing. The guacamole appetizer was not table-side and looked like it could have been scooped out of a large bucket in the kitchen. Nothing special about it.
The service was just average and the atmosphere was definitely not aligned with the pricing. It was more sports bar than high end restaurant inside. We sat on the patio which faced a row of valet parked cars.
There are so many Mexican restaurants in the area, and at least two other similar upscale restaurants which offer great food, good prices and great atmosphere. MBC is connected to a mall and was what you’d expect for a mall restaurant.
We enjoyed our meal. All food and drinks seemed well made and interesting. Wanted to try all the tacos, they all sounded great, but disappointing in that they were tiny. About 4 inch street taco tortillas not particularly well filled - 2 for $9. They recommend you get 3, so 3 for $13.50. My mushroom ones had alot of items in the description but not very much on them. So it was disappointing from that standpoint.
Menu was somewhat limited - apps, tacos, specialties. I think there was only one salad, a Caesar, a steak option, a chicken option, grilled (said roasted but waiter said flattop) seafood, etc.
Chips were thick and very good. The green salsa was very good, the red just OK but very spicy. The salsas come in pretty but tiny ramekins. Literally about 2 tablespoons of salsa. That's not enough for me let alone 4 people. The waiter did bring a larger portion when asked.
Service was good and friendly but bar was backed up so drinks were slow to arrive.
We were on the patio. Inside was very loud when we walked thru.
The service was outstanding. Great descriptions of the offerings. The food was just so-so. Pretty spicy and not a lot to choose from. Way to expensive for that kind of food. Drinks were super strong if you like that.
This was our first time and will not be our last! Food was amazing! Our server was excellent and offered items that were not on the menu that we ended up ordering (lobster tacos) and we were blown away! The Margaritas were very impressive as we are very picky when it comes to those. We went on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn’t real busy so the noise level was perfect. The only complaint was that the temperature was too cold.
Date for my me and my wife. We chose to sit outside as a pleasant evening and it was good to watch families play connect four and enjoy the plaza.
The ceviche was incredible...we did the mix two. The server was a help in offering which ones to go with. The food portions were small but allowed us to not be so full we couldn't enjoy. Our waters never went empty. We were checked on. Ultimately, it was a great night.
This is our favorite place!!!! Sometimes service could be better, they could bring chips and salsa without prompting. But still my most favorite place!!!
We had The MCB experience and it was amazing! The waiters asked us questions to see if we had any dislikes and what she brought out was perfect! The service was phenomenal with the perfect ambiance for a good Saturday brunch.
First time visit funny that no hostess was there to greet us. We were told to try the $30 per person sampler. Guacamole, salsas, and cheese dip were very good. Other items were hit or miss, corn was served cold and never brought back to table. Chicken was large serving, but dry and not that flavorful. Person waiting on us left before we received our check and didn’t let us know she was transferring her table. the bill was overcharged by $40. Manager corrected the bill, but the experience left us cold and unimpressed. Won’t be back
Star was phenomenal!!!
Bar tender was rude, server took about 20 minutes to bring just water glasses.... food was decent and server ended up being really nice
Service is horrible. Food is overpriced. The ambience is great and the drinks are strong is the only positives.
Great atmosphere, amazing service, great drinks and food, alot of fun!!
This place looks really cool and I will definitely give them another shot, but we had the slowest service I’ve ever had. It took 45 minutes to order dinner. We missed our concert. The manager sent over free stuff to make up for it, but even after he got involved, it took forever.
Food was pretty good and the bartender makes great drinks. We would have ordered more, but no one asked.
This is not your average TexMex joint. Everything about MBC is elevated: the cocktails, the dining room, the staff, the murals, the bar and THE FOOD. If you've been looking the perfect brunch spot, look no further. The lobster benedict, the carnitas hash, the ceviche trio are all a must. Multiple types of guacamole - all better than the next! The perfect orignal margarita isn't your thing? Try the Antioxidantl frozen. Just trust us! Go now; repeat.
4th time here and 2/4 times the service was an issue. Today was the worst. The wait staff that was there was doing their best and they are all fabulous workers. But one bday party going on and another large table doing the tasting menu basically took away the attention of the entire restaurant. The hostess sat us and it took 15 min to be greeted at the table by a waitress who said she wasn’t ours but she would take care of us. She was the sweetest, but we didn’t even get chips until I finally asked the hostess (it was now 23 min into our stay) she was amazing. Checked back as much as she could - but the poor girl was spread so thin. Not fair. Food was “ok” all appetizers and sides are great. Half the tacos on the menu are too spicy or salty. The Baja fish taco had NO fish. The whole thing was greasy breading. Didn’t drink this time, but the drinks in the past are amazing. Your downfall is going to be lack of help and frustration of customers due to this.
Small portions, big prices.
Not worth the effort, plenty of places to get better food for better value as it pertains to Mexican cuisine
Very very slow kitchen service
Christian was an AMAZING server. He made great suggestions and every bite was savory and delicious.
We enjoyed MBC so much the first visit we decided to try it again. We were seated right away, had a nice corner table in front of the bar. We decided not to do their tasting menu because basically the chef chooses what dishes to bring you, and we weren’t feeling that adventurous. They bring a small container with chips and a tiny dish of salsa, but they do refill upon request. Chips are good, not too salty and a little thicker than normal, with a tomatillo salsa that is good but very mild. We tried the sampling of 2 kinds of ceviche for 15$. Both were excellent but again, very small dishes. The entrees were good size portions, one was the chicken enchiladas in a crema sauce, which was yummy! Husband ordered the Mariscada, which was what he had last time and loved it. First, its suppposed to come over black rice, which the waitress failed to tell us squid ink is off the market now so they are making it with white rice. Would not have been a big deal if he knew what to expect and when he asked her about it, she was clueless and called over the manager. He immediately came over, apologized, explained the situation and offered to remove it from the bill. However, once my husband started to eat it, the seafood was SO salty that he barely touched it. The waitress came over to check and she stated he was not the first one to say the dish was way too salty that night. The mgr offered to bring something else but by that time I was already finished with my meal so he declined. Things happen, and sometimes its an off night, but the management definitely was great and had taken the entree off the bill with no hesitation, they did the right thing. Our server was sweet, but needed some more experience, slow to pick up used dishes etc. and the staff needs to be informed if dishes have changed from the menu description. We still mostly enjoyed everything else and will come back again.
We have dined at Mexican Bar Company multiple times and not once have we been disappointed. Kristian is our favorite server, he is always spot-on with his food & drink recommendations!
Amazing experience, food was delicious and drinks too. The service was good but you need to train your servers to understand the menu. Our server can't understand very well the names of some items on the menu like chilaquiles or tampiqueña.
