Menu was slim
Food was Marginal
Service was Okay
Great place for good food and drinks....even during COVID!
Samantha was amazing as usual , always a pleasure coming in for great food and getting great service!
We had a nice dinner and everything was great as expected.
Had an 8:00 pm reservation. Called at 7:30 to see if we could get in early. We were told to come on by. When we arrived they told us that we couldn’t be seated until 8 and questioned rudely who told us we could come early. Food was terrible. Service was sub par.
Great food, great service. Tables spaced appropriately.
There was a bird flying around throughout our meal,
The food was slow to the table, the seats are hard!
The food was great, the drinks and the service was great as well. We were upstairs and it was completely empty which was nice
Love the ambiance however the food was a little pricey and most Mexican restaurants provide free chips and salsa. This one unfortunately does not.
We were seated quickly with our reservation and drink orders were taken. We did have to ask for tableware and napkins, which was a bit strange. Other than that, it was a good experience for the group.
Michael our server was great!
I’ve eaten at MEX before and it was a great experience. I wanted to bring my family there to try the food and the ambience. We arrived, were seated and weren’t acknowledged for 20 minutes, no welcome ,no waters or any acknowledgement at all from the Waitress. Finally, she came over and took the appetizer and drink order. Before we knew it another 15 or so minutes had passed. Finally she brings the drink order over and we noticed she’d been standing at another table speaking to guest directly behind us with our drinks on the tray. In this CoVID environment, she had our drinks on a tray talking to guest who were seated and had no mask. Unbelievable! Finally, she dropped the drinks at our table with no acknowledgement and basically threw the straws on the table. SMH. At that point we made the decision to leave.
In these times when many restaurants are in jeopardy of going out of business this is the treatment we received at this restaurant.
I hope the owner reads this criticism as I’m sure s/he would want the staff to be better. I recall the waitresses name was either Emily or Amanda (a stocky, White women with bright blond or reddish blond hair). We were at the restaurant on 9/26/2020 with a 7:00 reservation.
Wish the service would have been better ...
Everything was fabulous as it usually is! We just loveeeeeee this place! Open up more locations PLEASE!!!!
My colleague and I enjoyed some Mahi tacos and a couple of beers over a conversation. Our waitstaff was great... very responsive!
Great service & good food. Especially appreciate the outdoor seating.
Was our first time there. I absolutely loved the food the ambience the decor. The service....I will definitely be dining there again 😉 Thank you for the awesome service 💜
Clayton are sever was great. The food was just ok. A very limited menu. We at outside in the parking lot. They made no attempt to
make it anything but a parking lot. They were short on staff so out door dining was limited. A lot of the tables outside were empty and needed to be bussed.
Very tasty. It was a chilly night so heaters would have been appreciated in the outside dining area.
Nice place , Properly equipped to handle COVID situation
My date and I throughly enjoyed our time at MEX. The food and the service was great
We were seated in outdoor area as per our request. However, there was a bid party occupying most of the tent and they were loud, walking around without masks which made us very uncomfortable.
Took 10 minutes for waiter to come over. He was polite but didn’t ask us for our drink order or appetizer order. Came back for order about 5 mins later. Guacamole was good, drink was not garnished and he didn’t come back for another 10 minutes. Food was brought out, but my husbands was ice cold and mine was lukewarm. We asked for our bill for the drinks and guacamole. Manager came over and said sorry also gave us a gift card but it was to late. The sever informed us that they were so short staffed and this was how it was going all night.
If you are looking for basic mexican this is a good place to go.
The way the restaurant has adapted to Covid was impressive - outdoor seating under a large tent. However their pricing has gone up a lot and the quality of food has gone down. For three of us to get salads the overall bill was over $80 and this was for basic, no frills salads.
Food was Great, Service was even Better!
Aaliyah was Fantastic: Smiley, Pleasant, Helpful, Attentive, and Fun!
Wonderful again. Only wish that they would bring back the full menu again soon! Love this place we dine here weekly.
A very inventive restaurant. More than just mexican style food. Maybe some pork dishes, cactus, other mexican dishes or accompaniments would be even more intriguing.
Great patio and drinks!
Great food + very good CoVid protocols.
Great outdoor seating for social distancing, great food and service.
First visit since Covid-19. The food is off compared to my multiple prior visits. A little disappointing since I am a fan of the chef-owner. Nachos were average. Margaritas very expensive at $12.50 for a glass full of ice. Chicken very dry in fajitas. I love this place and hope they survive. They set their own bar very high. I will come back but expect more next time.
One of the only restaurants I feel comfortable in. Tables are appropriately spaced, employees wearing masks.
My first visit in the pandemic. Everything was compliant with CDC and state guidelines- all staff wore Masks and spacing was at least six feet. I had the chicken enchilada casserole and it was outstanding! My server was personable and helpful. I ate outside under the large tent adjacent to the restaurant. I’ll be back!
It was a bit got indoors, and the food was good! The only thing is that the Guacamole was on the pricey side! I didn’t think it was worth $10+ for chips and guac!
How do you fairly rate anyone during a pandemic? The tent in the parking lot was ok, but it just isn't worth spending so much money. This restaurant obviously has to charge to cover its overhead, but it just isn't worth it for the consumer. The prices should be less given the lack of ambience.
Great food and great service. Glad to see them back open
Super safe. Great Covid protocol.
