Metropole Bar and Kitchen
When we reopened in June after a year long hiatus, we did so with a pop up themed D’Vuelta concept, inviting everyone home with Chef Cesar Medrano and his team’s renditions of classic Latin dishes.
And now we’re preparing to relaunch with a comprehensive new menu featuring dishes from Los Angeles Neighborhood tables. This will launch at the end of November and feature a handful of dishes from the Chef Cesar’s D’Vuelta menu, as well some old favorites and new additions. In the meantime, please enjoy D’Vuelta while it last!

Pretty setting, and the food was just fine, when it finally came. But they must be understaffed as the host seemed confused and unfamiliar with the facility. We were then not even acknowledged at our table for a very long time. However, once our waiter arrived, he worked extremely hard and did a great job.
It was okay. If I’m having a salmon blt with truffle fries I would expect there to be more flavor in the main then in the side. It just tasted like store-bought salmon on bread. Also I’m not sure what’s the point of showing two different kinds of house sangria on the menu and not having either of them. It was only 6pm. If you’re not making it print a more updated menu.
The staff was nice, but that’s not enough reason to return. Sorry.
nice view of downtown la food was good good ambiance
Very limited options for brunch and portions are too small
Love the decor/vibe! Drinks are unique and delish. Food is outstanding, with smaller portions. We were able to get apps, entrees, and dessert without feeling overly stuffed! We are 1000% going back again soon!
My husband and I were really underwhelmed with this spot, which had great reviews that lead us to select it for a DTLA date night experience. Even the images made it look far more appealing than it was.
Consider it a comparable to an airport restaurant with more expensive food options. Everything from the lighting to the table set up.
The service was interesting. Our server came to our table clearly finishing a bite of her own meal, without a mask on, and speaking with the leftover bite of food on her tongue and cheek.
The bartender and the bus clerk, however, were fabulous and friendly.
The food was mediocre.
Empanadas just laid on top of slathered guacamole was interesting… still tasty, but the guacamole made the empanada soft on the bottom.
The Oso Buco was way overpriced for the Portion and nothing like the online menu picture on Opentable.
Not even our 4th choice for DTLA dinner… even if we were staying at the hotel
Truthfully, didn’t end up eating here because I have a ton of allergies and the one thing that looked safe/good to me they were out of stock at that moment. BUT, I do appreciate our server Destiny checking with the Chef on other items and presenting alternative options regarding said allergies even though they just weren’t what I was craving. And the drinks we had were awesome as well - LOVED the Bee’s Knees, very well balanced! I do plan on trying to come back to try the dish they were out of someday soon!
Literally walked out
Pretty good ambiance and decor. The good menu could be healthier and expanded.
I placed my reservation but when I was about to be on the way I realized the restaurant was closed. Had to make a new reservation last minute.
Was looking for a place to eat before a Clippers game. Booked the Metropole, never having been there. Shared the tacos and empanadas. Outstanding. Great reasonably priced wine. Was surprised there weren't more people there. Service was fast and efficient and easily got us to the game on time. Overall a great experience.
We had stayed at the hotel indigo a few years ago and tried metropole and it was pretty good. Tonight we were staying at a different hotel and wanted Mexican food but being Friday night and covid it was difficult to find a reservation anywhere except Metropole on Opentable which showed them having openings every 15 minutes. We drove there and asked the hostess to seat us but she said she was full even though several tables were empty and Open Table still showing openings. I showed her my phone and the app and she said she didn’t care what open table said she had to honor her customers who had previously reserved. So I booked through open table for the next 15 minute slot available and showed her I had received a confirmation for a reservation which she said she wouldn’t honor because it was last minute. Eventually she brought some body else over who said I do t make the rules I just enforce them. I told them
I wasn’t trying to cause trouble but I had made a reservation, there were tables open, it was the time confirmed and we’d just like to eat and suddenly they fiubd a table and we sat down. After that service was excellent and food was terrific Portions small and a little overpriced but we just ordered more food and didn’t think twice .. it’s covid and we really glad to be out. Next time I will call the restaurant directly so it doesn’t turn into another twilight zone experience with the hostess
Not in the best location but nice breakfast spot...
The hotel is in a good location, the structure and decorations are beautiful. the ambiance was a bit out of place since a group of young fellows having dinner on the terrace were smoking a marijuana cigarette even though there were signs posted on that area restricting any smoking within 25 ft of the hotel. The smell was pretty strong and no one in the hotel addressed the situation but just ignored it.
The food and service was amazing and other than the smoking incident I would highly recommend it.
The staff is so attentive and kind. The drinks were super good. Reasonable prices.
This place was awesome! Great food, great service. And they have a Tesla charging station which was so convenient!
Great experience. The staff were professional and friendly. We tried multiple beverages and food items and they were all lovely. Nice place and decor is amazing too!
The waiter was extremely nice and offered great service!
Service was slow for a restaurant that was not busy at the time we sat down. 10+ min to get water, 10 more min for the actual server to greet us and take initial drink orders. Another 15 min before drinks were served. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a good dining experience. Food and portions were good and generous. We do plan on staying at the hotel again in the future and will give them another shot at dinner :)
Wonderful in every way. perfectly cooked sea bass and short rib dinners. Lovely dining space and very cool downtown L.A. vibe! Our waiter, Paul, made our engagement dinner celebration even better because he knew the menu so well and was incredibly helpful. We want to go back soon! :)
Thank you for Dine LA. Wonderful food and wonderful service.
Good food, not so good service.
Service is great. Food is delicious. From the butters to the entrees
I tried the Fish and Chips with a side of Brussel sprouts.
The fish was excellent! Fries - nice & crispy. Brussels - amazing!
Took 45 minutes to get drinks; drinks came after food; manager should have addressed this.
Very poor service. Was difficult to find the waitress and she came over very infrequently. Food was good overall.
1) gnats flying around.
2) waitress inattentive.
3) ordered medium rare steak, received a overcooked steak.
4)asked for dessert to go, was supposed to be a warm brownie with ice cream, received a cold hard brownie and no ice cream.
5) hostess on cell phone, inattentive
6) over priced for level of service, quality of food, and gnats
7) both waitress and hostess made aware of gnats- didn’t acknowledge or apologize or attempt to mitigate
Service was friendly!
It was good food but the problem is that it says brunch till a certain time on a Saturday and when I came it was only on a Sunday and the restaurant was closed and bar area was only open. I would have just left but I was going to the pool area at the same hotel.
Victoria was a fantastic server. Knowledgeable and personable. She was laughing with us by the time the check came. There was no rush to order, even being a Saturday night. All courses were beautiful and delicious. We will definitely come back again.
Excellence in all area
Knowledgeable and enthusiastic wait staff; attentive chef and manager. Nice and quiet dinner away from a busy conference.
The food was OUTSTANDING!! So pleasantly surprised...honestly the best scallops I have had in a long time! The sauces really complimented the scallops so well! Highly recommend giving it a try!
Chef Alan Morales was amazing hdhehehehehehehehehdhfhfhf
Good selection of buffet meal. Samantha was very attentive and efficient. Since my son and I are both allergic to cheese, Samantha gladly took our request for scrambled eggs and eggs over easy without cheese. She made sure my coffee is still hot and refilled our water when it needed to be refilled. Excellent dining experience!
Service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Very nice environment for a hotel restaurant. We were with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meal.
The restaurant was beautiful, the service was great and the best part was the food. Was one of the most delicious meal I've experienced.
I would say I had one of the best steaks ever at a restaurant! So tender and done perfectly. Inside the Indigo Hotel. Great location. Only a couple of blocks from the Staples Center. Would definitely go back again!
Great food, great service. Gus was awesome.
Only had appetizers so not sure what mains are like. They looked interesting when waiters passed by delivering to other table. Would definitely dine again. Short walk to LA Live.
The food was bland, chicken dry and tasteless, and the fries seemed like they had been frozen. I normally finish my food even if I don’t like it much, but I couldn’t even finish my meal. It also made my stomach a little upset the whole rest of the day. Really disappointed.
Party of eight accommodated in a timely fashion. Good food and efficient service. Highly recommend.
