Metropole Bar and Kitchen
Early Valentine’s Dinner
Service is great!
Went here for dinela.
Good, attentive service.
The food was just average. Nothing really memorable. My sea bass was unremarkable and the beef we got was rather dry.
This didn't impress me or my friend enough to re-visit.
The service and area are great but foods are salty.
It was a bit disappointing because they were out of one of the 3 featured desserts, which I had ordered and had to be replaced. Also, we were never served their delicious bread until we saw it being served to a nearby table, so we asked for some & finished the meal with their creative way to serve bread.
I had a reservation for 6 people for 7:30pm. We were never seated until 8:20 when another party larger than ours had a reservation at 8pm and their table was ready before ours. Poor planning on the part of management in organizing their seating. I had the Beet salad - the flavors were fabulous but there wasn't much of it. The Sea Bass was great! We waited an extremely long time for our deserts to be served. The manager did buy a round of drinks for the table but we sat at the bar so long waiting that most people either didn't order another drink or didn't finish the one he offered. I would not go back.
Went to enjoy DineLA at Metropole Bar and Kitchen. We had a terrible experience from the beginning to end of our meal. First, we were given the lunch menu, then finally after 15 minute wait, given only 2 dinner menus for our party of 4. Service was really poor and very long waits for food. Food presentation looked good, but each entree served was lukewarm to cold. The food was just above mediocre. I ordered the sea bass which was way over cooked, yet cold by the time I received it. The lava cake was over cooked with no lava flowing when sliced. Manager was very nice and ended up apologizing for everything. Overall, a bad experience. Would never go again nor will I ever recommend.
Outstanding service at the prix fixe Restaurant Week menu. Food was good and presentation was very good. Only two things were unexpected at an upscale dinner---they asked us to use the same fork for appetizers and entree and butter dish (three beautiful and delicious butters) and the bread and butter plate were not cleared before dessert. Bravo for decor and prohibition theme planting the restaurant into the city it is serving historically.
Came here fir dine LA and it was amazing. The food was great for the price. Will definitely come back.
I loved the food and ambiance but service was so rushed. The server was nice but I felt as if he was a little pushy trying to hurry me with my meals. My dessert came out early as I was finishing up my main course.
Food and service was excellent!
The salads, entrees (Chicken and Pork for us), sorbet -- were all quite good. The fabulous dessert (Meringue) was absolutely amazing. It wasnt too crowded during new years for us, and service was good. Very happy with this choice.
Supost I reserve the table to 9:00 pm ,when I arrived the restaurant was close,
It's a restaurant inside a hotel which isn't made clear in any description. Food and service were good. Not good for special occasions or dates. Good for business when nothing else is available.
The service was great from start to finished, Nancy the host was amazing show us to our seats and explained the buffet and a bit about the menu. Chris our server was great answered any questions I’d had, the food was amazing eggs cooked perfectly potato hash crisp and not to mention their fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh brewed coffee and not too mention their complementary early birth smoothie. Frank the manager was great he made sure that visit was welcomed definitely recommend metropole bar and kitchen.
Metropole is a wonderful restaurant! I have dined here several times. The food is great but I would like to see more variety In the menu. Also, service was a bit slow (we had to return to work) but our servers were awesome and made sure we received everything we ordered. Love Metropole!
Ambiance was great, service was friendly, and food was delicious! They have fantastic soups and their fish and chips were great! I would definitely go back again.
Wasn't sure but glad we went, Wedge Salad and Olive Bread, Pasta and the BACON the best!! Great service Paul was excellent. Would go again!
I stayed at the hotel and had breakfast there. My husband ordered eggs benedict, which was good, but came with dry potato hash on the side. I ordered duck and potato hash (no ketchup or sauce; just dry potatoes), which ended up being confit duck with whole fingerling potatoes, arugula, and an over-hard fried egg on top. It ended up being an incredibly dry meal and hard to choke down. I ended up trading my egg for one of my husband's over-easy eggs and hollandaise so I had a bit of moisture, but it ended up being just way too much food for a bit of moisture. They needed a sauce or needed to cook down the potatoes or something to make it enjoyable. The service, my husband's meal, and the look of the room were really nice though, so it was all around good.
I loved the decor! Our server was excellent as was the food. I was disappointed as the restaurant said they ‘ran out of the sea bass’. It was DineLA week and our reservations were for 5:30. They ran out of the fish before they started serving it? DineLa menu should have been updated.
I would visit it again!
Tried this out for DineLA with a friend. Friendly service, creative menu & contemporary decor. I would definitely return!
Happened to be there for the 1st day of Restaurant Week - great deal for $20!!! Food is fresh and nicely presented. Staff very nice and efficient. Would definitely return!
Our table was a bit in the open, so weird ambiance. Given yelp reviews, was expecting food to be better than this. It was fine, but lots of better options in DTLA.
A great find in downtown near the Staples Center. Went there for Mother's Day and the special brunch buffet was incredible. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. The decor was very modern and clean. The whole ambiance was very European, upscale and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to checking on the bar on the 18th floor that our waiter told us about, which is open in the evenings.
The food was well prepared. Excellent omelette bar and shrimp shooters. Overall excellent food.
Grad dinner with family. Great food. Wasn’t expecting a hotel restaurant to be this good!
Made reservation to take client to lunch - problems in the kitchen prevented us from being able to stay so we had leave and go to another restaurant. Don't want to be put in that situation again! Can't recommend for anything.
Interesting non standard sunday brunch. Lots of duck on the menu. Very fair prices, 32 dollars for two coffee included but without drinks
Didn't realize this was in the Lobby of the Indigo Hotel. We booked before the Clippers game and walked a few blocks from Staples to be away from LA Live madness. At first the menu looked a bit limited for my pescatarian/ dairy free/ gluten free husband but the sea bass he ordered was amazing. I ordered a mixed greens salad with ricotta saluda and shaved asparagus. It was the best salad I've had in awhile. The sweet potato fries were also tasty and the drinks were well made. Totally reccommend!
Fast friendly service and great food!
Delicious food, super stylish - lovely surprise not very far from Staples, with gorgeous design and really creative food. Loved the bread service with three kinds of butters!
YUMM!! That’s all can say “DONT FORGET TO ORDER YOUR PINEAPPLE MULE”
The noise level will vary according to how packed and loud the bar is, which is right next to the restaurant sitting area. Service and food were great.
The food, ambiance and service were excellent. Hard choices for their Liquid, Leaf & Loaf selection as everything looked delicious and for a great price. I did miss the customary bread basket which I still believe is very important while waiting for your meal to be served.
The dineLA lunch menu included some items that aren't on the regular menu, including a delicious corn ravioli with lobster sauce that featured generous chunks of lobster meat. My dining companion very much enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich (which had cheese outside as well as inside) along with tomato bisque. The restaurant is right across the street from my office, and I'm looking forward to going back regularly.
I went for Dine LA and the food was excellent. However, the service was the highlight of the meal. My server was personable and not overbearing. He gave me good choices on what to get when I asked and put up with my attempts at humor. All in all, a great experience.
I enjoyed everything about our experience. We went to try it during DineLA restaurant week. The restaurant is next to the Lobby in the Indigo Hotel. The decor of the restaurant is really cool. From the moment you walk in the staff is very attentive. Our server, Gus, was great with recommendations and service. In fact at least 3 other people helped us throughout the night and they were extremely attentive and accommodating. I had the Corn Ravioli, Braised beef, and the Lava cake. All were above average in taste and presentation. The pineapple mule cocktail was really refreshing. I would recommend and go back again with friends.
In my opinion hotel restaurants are always a gamble but Metropole is a stand-out. There are still some hick-ups, as expected for a new place, with slower than expected service but the ambiance is great and the food was amazing. We came for their Dine LA menu and the stand-out dishes were the lobster ravioli and miso glazed sea bass.
The food and service were fine for what it was- a restaurant in a hotel. Kind of like dining in a Hilton- but that’s only because I live in hotels 95% of the time. It was my mistake choosing this place- it was not a hip and happening spot for a Saturday night in DTLA. The waitress was so sweet and kind till i started to feel bad for her. The placed a birthday party of 15+ people next to us and that’s when the service went downhill. Management could beef up staffing for Dine LA. My friend ordered a cocktail which took roughly 25 minutes and 3 reminders to get. Id recommend this if you’re staying in the hotel only. Don’t bring your boss, client, or friends when there are tons of other options with ridiculous downtown views at the same price. However, I don’t want to completely knock this placit because it did get 3 stars- get the corn ravioli and braised beef. The swordfish was cooked perfectly also.
Four of us stopped for dinner prior to a Broadway Musical show. The service was friendly and attentive. The food options were good and our selections were well prepared to order. The restaurant was very convenient to the Theater and the staff was sensitive to our timing for the start of the show. I though it was a good value.
