    Drove an hour and a half for a nice birthday dinner experience, and I can truly say that this was one of the biggest waste of a night I’ve ever had. While the other servers were wearing appropriate dark clothing, our server Mary was wearing an insanely short and low cut red dress. We ordered our drinks, received one glass of wine and had to wait 10 minutes for the other two to finally show up. A very pleasant woman came up to get our app orders, because our server was busy with another table. We didn’t see Mary again until we were completely done with our apps. That was pretty much the whole service experience altogether. We watched every other table get checked on multiple times by other servers, our server even checked on her other table’s multiple times, while ignoring us to a point that I thought it was a prank. We watched her stand and polish plates and talk while we flagged someone else down to just get us a glass of ice. When it came to the food, our appetizers were fine, the calamari was salty to the point that it almost tasted sour. Everything else was incredibly bland. Our salads were fine, and when we asked our server what a squished item was in the salad, she said “umm” and that she thinks that it was roasted garlic. When we asked if she was unsure of what the ingredients of the dish were, she stumbled and said she thinks she does but her “eye sight is bad”. We then had to wait an incredibly long time for entrees. Which would have been fine if we had seen our server one time in between salads and then. I could go on. Dont recommend unless you like to throw hundreds of dollars out the window. 100% never coming back.

    It did not strike me as creative of a menu as the last time I visited (early 2021), but you can see the thoughtfulness and technique in the creation of the dishes. Service was pleasant but we were left for quite a while after seating before getting water/drinks (of course everyone has staffing issues these days.) It was also quite loud, partly that was the luck of the draw of who we were seated by, nothing Metropole could do about that, but the tables could have been arranged in a way to allow a bit more space between diners. Also, dimming the lights a bit more would create a more subdued atmosphere. I’m highlighting the critiques but they were all very minor— overall it was a very good experience!

    Great dinner and service. We went right before the ballet at the Aronoff Center and came back for a drink at the bar. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants and experience!!

    It wasn't crowded. Took 15 minutes to get seated with reservations. Server was non existent. Food came an hour later and it was wrong. Came out again, wrong. Nobody really cared. They did remove my food from the check but at that point it was just a not great experience and I won't be back.

    The food was very good. Some of the cocktail menu items were unavailable, but that led me to having one of the best gin and tonics I’ve had. The homemade tonic was unique and delicious. The service was pretty inattentive. Long periods without drinks or check in’s and the tone felt like we were being spoken to almost condescendingly. Put a damper on the great food experience which at the end of the day we feel is most important, but still a bummer

    This place has seriously gone downhill. Food (chicken) was overcooke, served cold and lacking seasoning. The portions have gone down significantly while prices have gone up. Only good thing was the burger, but the fries were cold and no where close to being as good as they had been.

    When I saw a hamburger platter delivered to a neighboring table, it looked great. Our server said it was a popular selection, so I ordered it. It was, without a doubt, one of the best I've ever had - tasty, juicy - perfect!

    Our food was amazing. The homemade bread, the avocado salad, and the amazingly creative herb chicken and salmon dishes were creative and delicious. Can't wait to return! Our server, Emily, was very attentive also.

    Overrall, a quality meal before heading to the Aronoff. We ordered the special oyster appetizer. Very tasty but probably the tiniest oysters I've ever seen. Our main entrees were fabulous. I had the Strip which was cooked perfectly. The combination of flavors on the plate were delectable. My mother had the scallops and she had equal praise. Our service was good, but not perfect. The atmosphere was a bit louder than I remembered and the tables are way too close together when seated in the half booth section. I definitely recommend Metropole and will probably return. For the price, I'd like a quieter atmosphere and top notch service.

    The service and food were very good. We had the bread and jam starter. Interesting flavor to the jam. They were out of scallops unfortunately, but the salmon and chicken entrees were very tasty. The menu isn’t real large, but the usual proteins are available. I love soup and none offered. Perhaps in the fall and winter???? Too full for dessert.

    The service was impeccable!!! Everyone was kind and attentive from the hostess to servers. But my dish fell a bit short. I ordered the crab and avocado grilled cheese which was very bland - literally no flavor. My husband ordered shrimp and grits which he enjoyed. If I return for brunch I will definitely order a different dish.

    First time there. Took 40 minutes to get a mimosa, service and getting check was slow. Restaurant was not busy. Would not recommend yet, might try dinner time and re evaluate.

    Food and drink was just ok. Service was great! I really struggled with the drink and could only eat the chicken even though it was way overdone. The fries and burger were pretty good.

    Despite not having the sea scallops the evening we visited, which we had planned to try, our experience was excellent. We selected 5 of the appetizers, all of which were very good to excellent (calamari and tuna tartare were our faves). The celebration cake was a fantastic way to finish the meal. Service was attentive and consistent throughout the evening.

    It was such a great experience. The service was very good, the food was delicious and the dessert was to die for (cheesecake - It should probably be the last time I have cheesecake, because no others will hold up to this one). The atmosphere was fun, the plastic penguins added a whimsical touch. We really enjoyed ourselves and wouldn't hesitate to go again!

    I usually start a review with the food but this time I simply want mention the outstanding service we had from Nikki and several other staff. Could not have more accommodating and responsive to special requests. A highlight. With respect to the food: we ordered two starters (avocado salad and steak tartar) and two main dishes (scallops and duck) and would order all again without hesitation. A truly fine dining experience.

    I had a great experience at Metropole the first time I went, but this time was sub-par. I had to return one dish, my steak was cold. Just all in all not great food. Disappointed that it isn't reliable because I really did enjoy it a month ago.
