Delicious drinks, awesome service and the food was excellent. I had the Carbonara, the medley of flavors were perfect, I slightly wanted the pasta to be more like pasta, to me, it tasted more like a rice noodle but it was still good. My husband got the lasagna off the specials menu and he said it was amazing, if only it was served as an actual meal! The fries were greasy and too crispy but I think they were supposed to be that way. The only thing that left more to be desired was the bread service. For $2 a roll the bread wasn’t that good but the butter was spectacular. All in all I am glad I came!
We went to a ballet matinee performance, had a 5:00 reservation - so we toured the gallery while we waited! We were seated and immediately greeted by our server who requested our water preference, I drink loads (I base my tip upon how well my water glass is kept filled) so I told him my preference was LOTS. He brought us two liter bottles. Definitely off to a good start. I looked at the menu and immediately made my decision so I turned the menu over so I wouldn’t change my mind! I chose the avocado and radish salad, my friend chose the burnt carrot salad. My salad was excellent, an entire half of an avocado (not just a few pieces) the green goddess dressing was wonderful and just the right amount. The burnt carrot salad was amazing , my friend offered me a taste. I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara as my entree , my friend the Duck. The flavor of my entree was superb, I would’ve preferred more crabmeat but still great. The duck was perfect. For dessert I had the strawberry rhubarb pie (actually a tart) it was the perfect size for topping off a terrific meal. My friend got the Chocolate Coconut Crunch which she said was like a giant Mounds bar! I ordered a cup of tea after the meal it was a green/rose blend. The warmed cup was a pleasant surprise, the tea came with an old fashioned egg time to assure proper brewing time. What a great idea, I’ve never had this happen in a restaurant - all should do it! The perfect ending to a marvelous meal. Can’t wait to return.
Hello Maryellen, So happy to hear you had a wonderful experience back at the ballet and then a wonderful dining experience with us. Your dinner sounds like my perfect meal and tea in a warmed mug with a timer is important! Hopefully we will see you back with us soon as we head into summer and some fun menu changes. Sincerely, Iona Muir | Area Director Food & Beverage, Cincinnati + Nashville She | Her | Hers
Everything was wonderful and delicious, but it is slightly overpriced.
This is our go-to for special occasions because Metropole never lets us down. We always enjoy the food from start to finish, and it’s fun to look at the art next door in the 21C Hotel. Jeremy was our server this time, and we recalled him from prior visits because he’s so efficient and personable. Everything about this visit was perfect.
We love Jeremy too! Happy to hear that you had such a great visit with us; delicious food, fun cocktails and amazing art - perfect combination. Hope to see you back with us soon as we head into summer and some seasonal menu changes. Sincerely, Iona Muir | Area Director Food & Beverage, Cincinnati + Nashville She | Her | Hers
Our first, but not last visit to Metropole. Everything was great and we really enjoyed the evening. The food and service were worth the money.
Great new menu with great options. All prepared very well .
The food was fantastic and our service was wonderful. Very much enjoyed the convenience of the restaurant
This is quietly one of the best restaurants in Cincinnati. The food is unique and amazing! from appetizer to desert. There is a nice selection. The wines are very reasonable priced, especially on sunday when at retail. Service is outstanding.
Terrific food and friendly service. All 4 of us ordered a pasta, and they were all very good. Excellent cocktails, pretty good wine-by-the-glass list, and very rich and delicious “Candy Bar” dessert.
Fabulous meal with excellent service. Highly recommended.
Food was insipid and ordinary. The dishes that we used to love like the burnt carrot salad etc, were altered and just did not taste like they used to.
Super cute, trendy place in Cincinnati. Great service, friendly atmosphere
Wonderful cocktails that were unique, courteous but relaxed service, delicious seasonal entrees.
First time back after over a year. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner & drinks. Service was great.
Excellent service and delicious food!! Highly recommend Metropole!
Our server Graham did an excellent job and provided superb recommendations.
Excellent and professional waiter David!
Bread service at $2 pp was very disappointing- if you’re going to charge for bread- which is fine- please get some really good rolls! Service was very slow- guess this is the new norm. Took over 2 hours for dinner. Food was good!!
The food is excellent and has been each of the times I have been there. This time also, however, we ordered two burnt carrot salads and the avocado was hard and not ripe enough in both. The menu items are priced a little high for the quantity and type of food you are getting. The quality is what makes it worth the price.
The service was great and our food was delicious. I enjoyed the creativity of the menu. After dinner we enjoyed the art galleries which made a perfect evening.
Excellent restaurant. It’s a great place to dine in Cincinnati
The best thing about this meal was the pace. We ordered 1 appetizer, 2 salads and then shared a pasta dish, a main and a dessert. The service gave us a breather between each course during which plates were cleared and silverware was replaced, water was refilled and wine glasses topped off. It was a relaxed lovely evening with very good food and just the right amount.
The food was excellent. The staff was remarkable. We had the calamari & shrimp ceviche appetizers both were amazing. We had the avocado and radish salad which was delicious. For the pasta we tried the tagliatelle carbonara and it did not disappoint. The main course we had the duck which was fabulous. For dessert we had the strawberry rhubarb pie which was also fantastic. The wine list was great. This is quite the hidden gem. We will be back!!
The service was very good. Our server was quick and prompt to all of our needs. The food was....just okay. Certainly not worth the price. The steak was cooked nicely, but the cut wasn't that great. The mashed potatoes were cold. Like, refrigerated cold, not room temperature. It was okay, but I doubt i'll be going back.
We had a fabulous dinner! Every last bite was delicious, the bottle of rose was perfect, and Graham took excellent care of us. Can't recommend highly enough!
Excellent food. Left replete and very satisfied. Excellent service by Jeremy.
Great food and great service, I was very pleased. I only wish they had a larger menu for lunch.
Girls weekend. We dressed up and went here for a fabulous dinner. Drinks were fantastic as were the appetizers and main dishes. We even had coffee and dessert. Staff is friendly and helpful. Loved the blistered shisito peppers and beets and calamari. Really can’t go wrong with anything here.
GREAT SETTING & AN AMAZING BURGER!!! GOURMET & DELICIOUS-- Best in town!
Nice vibe and ambiance, food was just ok, my wife’s Salmon was literally in a pool of butter and grits. She only ate the fish and left the rest. When a manager bused her plate he even looked at it , like, ewe. But didn’t ask if there was a problem either.
The Tagliatelle Carbonara was a disaster, two small pieces of king crab, the dish is worth about $15 not $29!
The service was ok, training new server, not overly friendly.
If you do go, the Crispy Deviled Eggs are to die for.
Food was amazing. Not too crowded - I really liked that. The server was a bit dry but very knowledgeable and quick.
These chef’s are excellent not only with the presentation, and taste that are so pleasing in every dish from the appetizer to the dessert.
Good food with a twist (but not pretentious) that's worth every penny. The service is fantastic, the atmosphere fun (love the penguins), and gallery is a great way to spend time while you're waiting.
All of the food was amazing and fresh. Flavors I didn’t expect hit me from every angel. Love it! Can’t wait to go back. The waiters recommendations were great.
Thank you for a lovely Mother’s Day! My 80 year old mum was so pampered and your menu was perfect. The staff was so patient and caring.
My son was in town for Mother’s Day and we wanted to go to one of our favorite places. The good ad service were wonderful as always. David and Iona took great care of us.
Thank you! We’ll be back!!!
It was good
We did not realize there was a limited menu for Mother’s Day. There was nothing my husband could eat, so he ordered off the Children’s menu. He was not pleased.
