Metropole @ 21c Museum Hotel
Metropole is great they always have great cocktails and all their food is amazing. I got the burnt carrot salad and it was amazing. We also got the broccoli fritters and they were amazing.
Food was great as was the service. The only issue was the temperature. We were seated near a window and there was a cold breeze blowing throughout the entire meal. I made several off hand comments about the cold to our wait staff, hoping she would get the hint, but she never did. Good thing I did not check my coat, I would have been very uncomfortable.
After-show dining. Exceptional service.
My good friend’s 60th birthday dinner
Our meal and service was wonderful. I dined with my son prior to the matinee performance of Les Miserables. My only complaint is that our table for 2 was REALLY close to other tables. Felt very "not private." At all. There were many open tables and we probably should have asked to move, but I assumed they would be filling up quickly. They never did. We had a reservation and I wish our table hadn't felt so squashed in between 2 others. Having said that, our food was really delicious (breakfast burrito and 21C breakfast) and the location is super convenient. Viewing the art is an added bonus. Not sure why this place wasn't packed before a show!!
Metropole has a menu I find unique to Cincinnati which is a major appeal. There is at times a Japanese flavor to some of the dishes, often barely noticeable. We, for a pre-Valentine's Day dinner created our own tasting menu from the non-entry parts of the menu. A truly enjoyable meal. The grilled octopus was the best I have had it quite some time. Service by excellent. Highly recommend.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the last time we went it was just ok. The burnt carrot salad was the highlight -- amazing as always, albeit much smaller than it used to be. They don't have the steak my husband loved anymore and there was only one gluten-free option now. Service was ok but not amazing like it has normally been.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful boutique hotel.
Dinner at Metropole was a wonderful experience. We started in the bar with ample and delicious Old Fashioneds and some warm olives. The server was charming. We were then seated in the dining room. Service was terrific. We both had salmon, one ordered medium and one ordered well done. The outside was crispy and both were cooked perfectly. The bill for our drinks and dinner was very reasonable. I will come here again and highly recommend.
I don't give this restaurant enough love. We, along with many others, were headed to the theater across the street and the staff was very accommodating to everyone. Meals were fast, but not rushed, in fact, the timing was perfect. AND speaking about perfect, everything we had was excellent from the deceptively large/decidedly light salads, a mushroom consomme, charcuterie board, braised short rib, and grilled duck. The drinks were great as well. Service was attentive, but not pushy or overbearing.
Everything was outstanding. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the wine pours were surprisingly generous. I particularly recommend the octopus an the duck.
Fantastic dinner and service! from oil arrive through dinner the service was top notch. Thank you for a lovely time. We will be back.
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. We will be back.
Ambiance was perfect. Service was great too. Food had beautiful presentation but nothing exceptional on flavor. It was good quality clean food but nothing I couldn’t get somewhere else for a better price.
We enjoyed dining at Metropole very much. The food was delicious, the portions were good and the service was excellent.
Dinner before show
Took a long time to get one cocktail. Salads were wonderful. Entrees were not- fish and duck both overcooked and dry. Great ambiance, but food mediocre.
Great food and our server was amazing! We will be back. Everything was fresh and delicious!
Bad service , food si so
Amazing way to enjoy dinner before Lion King, Greta service, drinks and food!!!
The risotto was overcooked, almost soup like. The vegetable dumpling filling was nice but the exterior unevenly cooked - some were almost burnt and others were a nice golden brown.
Great venue for business meetings, nice surroundings and pleasant people.
It was perfect!
Metropole always delivers a consistent, quality experience in both food & environment. Great menu and fantastic service. Highly recommended for special events or an evening with friends.
We were a bit disappointed in the food although the burnt carrot salad was as advertised,!the Brussel sprouts were just slightly above average and the entrees were uneven. The shirt rubs were chewy, and the tenderloin beef was somewhat short on meat. Duck Breast was fine. Seemed overpriced for the quality of the food. Quite disappointed after going because of the City Beat year end review of restaurants.
Very pleasant experience. Dinner prior to an event at the Aronoff. Service was wonderful. Food was delicious but surprisingly not incredibly distinctive tasting.
A very nice experience. The menu is diverse and unique all at the same time. My wife had the charred carrot salad and vegetable dumplings which she loved. I have the tartare, which was good, and the duck which was excellent. Overall an awesome meal and evening out.
We had an amazing 3ed anniversary dinner at this restaurant, you guys might see us for the 4th.
This is one of my favorite places to eat before a show. They are always accommodating and move our meal aling to make sure we don't miss the curtain. Yet, we don't feel rushed. The staff are all incredibly friendly and have the special ability to be attuned to our mood.
Food was perfectly paired and prepared. Fast and great service. We had a table for 8 and were concerened about making our showtime in 90 minutes . But we even had enough time for dessert. We had 7 different entrees and everything was excellent. Can't wait to go back again.
My daughter and I went there before a play and had absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. We told them we were going to the play so everything came out quickly. We shared the salmon and also shared 3 amazing side dishes - Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and burnt carrot salad. Everything was outstanding!!
Great service, good food. Had octopus and side salad as a meal. Prep of octopus with couscous was great.
Experience wasn't the best compared to previous. Waitress seemed a little standoffish and not committed to the dinning experience as previously experienced.
Unique and enjoyable evening in downtown Cincinnati was complimented by our stay at 21C. Quiet, private and unique compared to standard downtown hotels. Location is perfect for the theater and downtowns best restaurants.
The "Pop Tarts" were amazing! Smoked Salmon Benedict was perfectly prepared. Great atmosphere.
Service, food and ambiance were incredible! Such a great New Year’s Eve dinner. The recommendations from our server were spot on. Highly recommend!
A returning customer who brought my family to the Metropole for New Year's Eve. Very disappointed in the service (long wait to get a cocktail), the food (mediocre at best when it had been fabulous on my first visit two years ago) and the lack of menu selections.
So sorry to hear about your disappointing visit with us - our menu changes frequently, we are adding another entree for menu variety and appreciate feedback as it really helps us learn/grow. Hopefully you will give us an opportunity in 2020 to give you the experience with us you should have had on your last visit. Please reach out to me personally whenever you are ready to return. Our server was a bit odd in his communication style and only moderately attentive. The food was outstanding.
Love it. We’re big fans of this place.
