We were about the only guest in the restaurant?
Everyone provided great service from taking our coats to initiating conversation about time constraints with the play we were going to attend. They were all very prompt in bringing food and drinks as well as removing plates etc. as needed.
This is very nice place to have dinner, especially business dinner when the guest stay at the hotel.
The server was especially courteous and fun. Delicious food and good wine. Great atmosphere.
We have been there before for brunch. We met friends. Food is always good as was the food.
Got their farm egg omelette with egg whites only. It had a kick to it. - with whole wheat toast and hot tea.
And the smoked salmon Benedict with the Hollandaise on the side. They serve a lot of Hollandaise. I learned the last time to order it on the side.
Also tried the Switch Hitter - light on the gin and heavier on the bourbon. That was good.
Great art exhibit.
We lived everything except the Blue Cheese. Can’t wait to go back.
Best duck my wife has ever had (including 5 years in Paris). Short ribs great too.
Wonderful, imaginative food. Low key presentation. Service is a little flaky, but a great place for pre-theater dinner and after theater drinks
Graham the server was so sweet. He helped us pick cheese and meat for the charcuterie appetizer And he started off by asking if we were going to see a show after dinner and if so what time so that he could ensure we make it there on time. He also brought me macarons (two gigantic macarons) and a candle for my birthday and we had no idea he was going to do that. He was very attentive and the food was amazing. The second best part of the evening was the plastic penguin that sat with us :)
This is a great place for a nice pre-theatre dinner in Cincinnati. You can dine with the traditional Penguin sculpture, and take an after-dinner stroll through the gallery exhibitions.
Great service. Interesting menu. Delicious food. This will be our first choice before the Aronoff going forward.
Shrimp pasta delicious!
Girlfriends birthday lunch fun!
Metropole is great they always have great cocktails and all their food is amazing. I got the burnt carrot salad and it was amazing. We also got the broccoli fritters and they were amazing.
Food was great as was the service. The only issue was the temperature. We were seated near a window and there was a cold breeze blowing throughout the entire meal. I made several off hand comments about the cold to our wait staff, hoping she would get the hint, but she never did. Good thing I did not check my coat, I would have been very uncomfortable.
After-show dining. Exceptional service.
My good friend’s 60th birthday dinner
Our meal and service was wonderful. I dined with my son prior to the matinee performance of Les Miserables. My only complaint is that our table for 2 was REALLY close to other tables. Felt very "not private." At all. There were many open tables and we probably should have asked to move, but I assumed they would be filling up quickly. They never did. We had a reservation and I wish our table hadn't felt so squashed in between 2 others. Having said that, our food was really delicious (breakfast burrito and 21C breakfast) and the location is super convenient. Viewing the art is an added bonus. Not sure why this place wasn't packed before a show!!
Metropole has a menu I find unique to Cincinnati which is a major appeal. There is at times a Japanese flavor to some of the dishes, often barely noticeable. We, for a pre-Valentine's Day dinner created our own tasting menu from the non-entry parts of the menu. A truly enjoyable meal. The grilled octopus was the best I have had it quite some time. Service by excellent. Highly recommend.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the last time we went it was just ok. The burnt carrot salad was the highlight -- amazing as always, albeit much smaller than it used to be. They don't have the steak my husband loved anymore and there was only one gluten-free option now. Service was ok but not amazing like it has normally been.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful boutique hotel.
Dinner at Metropole was a wonderful experience. We started in the bar with ample and delicious Old Fashioneds and some warm olives. The server was charming. We were then seated in the dining room. Service was terrific. We both had salmon, one ordered medium and one ordered well done. The outside was crispy and both were cooked perfectly. The bill for our drinks and dinner was very reasonable. I will come here again and highly recommend.
Food is great and unique
I don't give this restaurant enough love. We, along with many others, were headed to the theater across the street and the staff was very accommodating to everyone. Meals were fast, but not rushed, in fact, the timing was perfect. AND speaking about perfect, everything we had was excellent from the deceptively large/decidedly light salads, a mushroom consomme, charcuterie board, braised short rib, and grilled duck. The drinks were great as well. Service was attentive, but not pushy or overbearing.
Everything was outstanding. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the wine pours were surprisingly generous. I particularly recommend the octopus an the duck.
Fantastic dinner and service! from oil arrive through dinner the service was top notch. Thank you for a lovely time. We will be back.
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. We will be back.
Ambiance was perfect. Service was great too. Food had beautiful presentation but nothing exceptional on flavor. It was good quality clean food but nothing I couldn’t get somewhere else for a better price.
We enjoyed dining at Metropole very much. The food was delicious, the portions were good and the service was excellent.
Dinner before show
Took a long time to get one cocktail. Salads were wonderful. Entrees were not- fish and duck both overcooked and dry. Great ambiance, but food mediocre.
Great food and our server was amazing! We will be back. Everything was fresh and delicious!
Bad service , food si so
Amazing way to enjoy dinner before Lion King, Greta service, drinks and food!!!
The risotto was overcooked, almost soup like. The vegetable dumpling filling was nice but the exterior unevenly cooked - some were almost burnt and others were a nice golden brown.
Great venue for business meetings, nice surroundings and pleasant people.
It was perfect!
Metropole always delivers a consistent, quality experience in both food & environment. Great menu and fantastic service. Highly recommended for special events or an evening with friends.
We were a bit disappointed in the food although the burnt carrot salad was as advertised,!the Brussel sprouts were just slightly above average and the entrees were uneven. The shirt rubs were chewy, and the tenderloin beef was somewhat short on meat. Duck Breast was fine. Seemed overpriced for the quality of the food. Quite disappointed after going because of the City Beat year end review of restaurants.
Very pleasant experience. Dinner prior to an event at the Aronoff. Service was wonderful. Food was delicious but surprisingly not incredibly distinctive tasting.
A very nice experience. The menu is diverse and unique all at the same time. My wife had the charred carrot salad and vegetable dumplings which she loved. I have the tartare, which was good, and the duck which was excellent. Overall an awesome meal and evening out.
