This was unlike any other dinning experience in LA. Don’t come here expecting the typical trendy LA restaurant. This restaurant is for a sophisticated palate and for those of you who appreciate the art of cuisine. The food is incredible and well thought out, I enjoyed It and will return for a special occasion.

The restaurant had cool decor but it was too bright. The lights need to be turned down and the music needs to be turned up. It was as moody and cool as it could have been. Overall, it was just ok.

Booked a reservation but was seated only 20 mins later. I dont understand how they managed the seating arrangement but it was horrible. The food was below average, nothing amazed us except the presentation and ambience were unique. Other than that, the food is not amazing. I am very familiar with Chef Jordan Kahn and I am never a fan of his dishes. Very unique but very meh taste.

Jordan Kahn is, in my opinion, the most innovative chef/restauranteur in Los Angeles today. My husband and I went to Meteora for his birthday. While I never had the opportunity to eat at Vespertine pre-Covid, I did order their takeout experiences multiple times during the pandemic and I was always impressed by the quality of food, presentation and wide variety of experiences. I thought the overall experience at Meteora was exceptional. Several reviews I read before going were critical of the friendliness of the staff, but we found everyone with whom we interacted from the hostess to our waiter to the other servers who came to the table to be professional and friendly. The restaurant has an Ancestral theme and its décor evokes tropical Tulum vibes. I will say that not all tables are created equal – most are well-spaced and offer privacy but some are close together. We were initially seated in the front dining room near the hostess stand and requested to be moved to the courtyard, which the hostess accommodated immediately. The menu is split into 4 different sections – 2 of them are primarily vegetable-oriented (although some include meat/fish), and the other 2 are seafood and meat. The waiter recommended 2-3 dishes per person. We ordered 4 dishes, one from each section, and it was more than enough food. We likely could have been good with 3 items for the 2 of us. We had the following – Leaves & Stones; Bigfin Squid; Carmelized Lobster Rice; Organic California Lamb. Where Jordan Kahn distinguishes himself is with the phenomenal combination of multiple aromas and flavors of the food he presents. Every one of the dishes was exceptional. The Leaves & Stones is a deconstruction of multiple ingredients to make your own lettuce wraps but that description doesn’t do it justice – it’s like a symphony of different flavors and textures. The Bigfin Squid is in the vein of a ceviche w/ some kick to it. Loved the lobster rice – couldn’t get enough of it. The la

Everything about Meteroa is great, different and outstanding. Valet service not so much. We got there and as we where being seated, we heard our vehicle (modified exhaust) be driven extensively. We went to check and so we thought what had happened was right. Valet service said because we drove our vehicle like that, he can do the same, which is no excuse. That really set the mood for the rest of the night, overall service and meal was great.

A classy yet comfortable experience in Midcity LA where unique and amazing flavor combinations are to be had. Where parking in LA is still, well LA parking they have a valet service. Entering the restaurant one really gets the LA experience of being transported to another world. Staff were very well versed on their menu and I felt that the best dishes of the night were all suggested by the staff. The staff never let my water get close to empty which is a huge plus. The Stone and Leaves dish was fun, witty, and most important of all, delicious. The caramelized lobster rice was mind blowing. The redwood ice desert was sensational. I was very tempted on ordering another. I would be very interested to try a tasting menu of some sort from them. Where the all the dishes were delicious in their own ways, I felt that some of the outshined the others so id be interested in seeing how they would incorporate these dish as s set menu. Their other restaurant, Vespertine does an amazing job of this so I have faith that they wont fail at this if they choose to do some sort of tasting menu. Overall I had a fantastic time there I would not hesitate to return. For such an amazing meal I felt like I had spent far more that I actually did which was also another pleasant surprise.

The decor and aesthetics are phenomenal but that isn’t enough … after taking a few pictures the bubble bursts. I totally understand a rule to sit only complete parties… but there was absolutely no waiting area available. There is a large area with sculptures and candles which is a completely wasted space. After we got seated a waiter mistakenly brought a drink to our table when we said that it isn’t for us he said “thank you ,wow you guys just saved my life “ we didn’t think a lot about it until later. Seems the servers are terrorized there.. We ordered 4 different cocktails, they were interesting, strange but tasty, no complains here. It all went way down hill after the hostess approach our table and literally shushed one of our friends. I’m very aware of my surroundings, the place is zen but dang it’s it’s no library and we were not loud. What a vibe kill ! I understand if we were drunk or obnoxious but wow we literally laughed couple of times and tired to have a good time. The food was tasty, but the mood was changed and the entire experience off. All the dishes are somehow deconstructed and incredibly photogenic. Portions are small and I was happy we came on a GNO and not with our husbands because they would left hungry for sure. Our bill added up to about $500 .. high but not terrible. The same girl that shushed us came with the bill so I asked her about her “ reprimanding us” and ruining our vibe even tho we really were not loud. She proceeded to explain that’s the restaurant policy and she isn’t a stranger to approaching guests to tell them to be quiet, and she would also go to tell a family with a baby to keep the sounds to their table only. I will not most likely not be returning as I’m assuming most people as well .. it’s just not a fun place. Honestly we were all yawning by the time we left. Its pretty bad ! It seems they also not allow the servers to be personable just cold stone proper service… Over all I was disappointed

Chef Kahn's latest is maybe his greatest. I'm a huge fan of both Destroyer and Vespertine and both are outstanding restaurants for very different reasons (other than the perfect quality of everything that leaves the kitchen) but Meteora seems to hit that perfect spot between undeniably unique dishes and a flavor profile that just hits home with every dish. It helps to know your guest(s), you will be sharing everything and using your hands here and there, but that's part of the rustic meets modern influence that floats throughout the restaurant. The room is beautiful. The service is perfect. Every dish hits home. Last night was my second visit, I was sad to see a few departures but then excited to try the dishes that replaced them. Although that corn ice cream. That's GOT to come back.

This is an influencer spot. Way overpriced and somewhat of a weird vibe. (Meditation music playing the entire time) It has all these amazing reviews, super hyped everywhere and it actually had really great service, but not worth it in my opinion. Dinner costs as much as a ticket to Tulum lol. Drinks are whatever, food is whatever. Our favorite was the pork. Least favorite was the lobster rice.

Otherworldly presentation. Imaginary exquisite flavors but in real life. Or was it? This is was an incredible experience. Unmatched. The servers, the presentation. The music. The copal. Meteora is the essence of space time. It flows between the spaces that interconnects the elements and in itself is the catalyst. Chef has tapped into an ephemeral vein within a wormhole that flows and fuses the primordial with a mysterious highly evolved distant future. Everything was fantastic. Rethink what to expect from going out to eat. Imagination here is abound. Proud that this exists in Los Angeles.

If Burning Man was a restaurant it would be Meteora. But seriously, you will eat things that don’t even resemble food you’ve ever had before. Like corn smut. And despiced habanero peppers. They’ll have a michelin star in no time, so go now.

The restaurant is very beautifully decorated. The bathroom area has a great vibe and is a fun spot for mirror selfies - if that’s your thing. I’m an east coast girl, but the service didn’t seem to be in line with the price point of the food. While portions are small, which I would expect, I would have liked to have felt more attention from the servers during the dining experience. A great place to tryout once for the experience!

An immersive dining experience, not only was the ambiance very special, the music and the interior but also the service was great. Small details the staff can work on: less side conversations and comments amongst themselves, better placement of dishes on the table (does it make sense to place this far away), slow down the explanation on the food. Details to bathroom cleaning can be improved, a restaurants face is their restroom maintenance!

I celebrated my birthday at Meteora, and was very pleased with the experience overall. Most of the food was truly exceptional with only a couple of disappointments (the dessert menu, in particular, felt like an afterthought, and the much-hyped lobster rice just didn’t work for any of us.) The short rib and Leaves and Stones were standouts. The cocktails were not great, though the wine list was wonderful. Service was impeccable. The biggest missteps to me were the attempts to make the experience feel “primordial”; the wooden forks and spoons for the first portion of the meal were unwieldy, and the music was almost unbearable by the end. Still, the food made up for it, and we were all glad we gave it a try.
