We ordered appetizers the guacamole and salmon and tuna tartare. Both servings were generous and would have been enough for a dinner. The waiter was friendly and prompt with our food.
Our main courses were a burger ( cooked to very rare as my husband likes it) and the cedar miso salmon with twice friend rice for me. The salmon was good but the twice fried rice was hard as a rock and did not add to the dish.
This was a great place to get a bite after shopping for jeans at the mall.
Two day old baked potato. Boring and tasteless steak not worth the price. Sitting on a rats nest of arugula. No effort. Served our salad with the appetizers. Pushed entrees on table without clearing appetizer plates and serving dishes. Silverware not available. Dull knives. And a sever who should have showered at least once this week! Offensive! Has been restaurant. Will never go back.
Good food and value for money. Nothing special but reliable, especially the comfort food dishes, such as hamburgers, rice bowls, falafel and mac and cheese.
Service was slow, food wasn’t great. Waitress was the only one in the section and had about 6 tables she was waiting on.
Sunday brunch with my husband was a big disappointment. The brunch menu has been cut and now has very limited offerings. They took pancakes off the menu! Instead I ordered the three cheese omelette which contained about 3 pounds of cheese. The cheese to egg ratio in the omelette was very unbalanced and it was served with French fries instead of breakfast potatoes or hash browns. My husband’s bacon was burnt, but he did ask for extra crispy bacon so there you go. I used to enjoy brunch at Met Bar but I think I’ll head to IHOP next time. I just can’t imagine Brunch without pancakes.
Eggs were cold and over cooked. Bloody Mary’s had no taste. Was terrible food. Pancakes were ok.
This is not somewhere I'd return...the ambiance is very poor--harsh lighting, stark decor--and the food is mediocre. Our meatloaf was much better than the fish and chips, which was overbattered and too large. The steak fries were the best part of that meal. Good for large groups, and not for a romantic dinner.
On the plus side, our waitress was lively and efficient.
Food was poor. They ran out of one appetizer and instead of saying they were out of it they brought over a VERY small amount [they later apologized and took off the charge]. Food was greasy and not good.
Very busy in the mall but its a big place with a big bar.
Our party of six sat at a round table in a poorly lit corner. We had made reservations ahead of time and were disappointed that we were seated in such a poor location, esp. when there were other well lighted tables available. When we mentioned our unhappiness about the lighting, the waiter just said "everyone complains about this table. No offer was made to improve the situation. Not good!
Another wonderful meal packed with excellent service. The waitress was top notch, the manager really cared about serving us, and the food was excellent, quick, and convenient. Best place for lunch while shopping.
This place used to be much better. The best thing about this place is you can sit for a served meal without a wait or via an Open Table reservation. Service was poor. Hamburger was over cooked and role stale. Not much better than what you can get at food court.
Met Bar and Grill has never been a disappointment. We go there for a consistent burger and when we want a fun place to eat. A member of our family is gluten free and we've never had a problem order for her. They have may gluten free options as well as ordering a burger without the bun. The only small issue is some of the host table staff can get short with patrons when they are busy. This occurred the other night when we showed up as well as on past occasions. But, once inside the restaurant we've never had an issues with staff.
We hit the mall every Black Friday and it's a tradition we always have lunch at The Met. Great burgers, good drinks and steady service. We will be back next year!
One of the worst meals I have ever had in my life I’m a regular the bartender and servers know me on a first name basis I dine here a lot and this was by fat the worst meal I have ever had my food was burnt so bad that it was black and chard and bitter as all hell I order a thanksgiving burger stuffing shouldn’t be black right? I waited over an hour for you to burn the living hell out of my food and you actually served me it like it was fine I’m so disappointed
Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great service. The burgers in a bowl with arugula, onion and tomatoe is very good. They have many hamburger varieties to chose from. One of us sampled the seasonal pumpkin beer and ordered it. The pumpkin flavor wasn’t overpowering. We missed the happy hour appetizers but they look worth trying another time.
Decent wine list and great service because we sat for awhile and chatted after we ate- awhile! And were not bothered
We have been to Met Bar before and had a enjoyable meal. However our last visit included sub par service and food. It will be a while be few we think of visiting the restaurant again.
Waitress was missing most of the time.. we were two woman chatting it up but was constantly looking for her
My husband and I used to like the drinks here and came here often. He is very particular about his Manhattan. Last time when we were there, he noticed the drink tasted different. We asked the waiting staff to remake it and make sure to add bitter. This time, the drink came, even I can taste the difference. Not sure what's going on at the bar but probably we won't order any drinks any more. Having said that, the burgers had been consistently good. The rating is just to reflect the quality of the drinks.
Always excellent, good menu. Burgers for us tonight and they are very good. Served with fries, regular or sweet potato. Service good, nice atmosphere.
We enjoyed our lunch. It was a beautiful
day and we sat outside. Nice private area. We had a steak chopped sald and a chopped green salad with shrimp. The burger and fries that my family member ordered was one of his favorite burgers. We also had the bolognese which was well done. Good service. Good food. We did not try the cocktails on this visit. We will be returning. We enjoy dining there when shopping at the mall but would return for an evening meal as well. Large menu with a varied selection.
Our experience at Met Bar & Grill was very uneven. It took an hour to get our food - never a good start. The burgers were good, the fries were uninspired, and some of the food was really mediocre. It was incredibly loud inside the restaurant. From what I understand it's one of the better options at the Natick Mall but that doesn't mean it's great. The place was packed though so if you do plan to go be sure to reserve ahead.
Excellent choice for lunch or dinner. The top place overall for dining in the Natick Mall. Our Brick Chicken, Sweet Pot. fries, burgers, salads.. all very good. Service, like tonight, sometimes slips. Took a lot of time to get our chow.
I live nearby and forgot that this lovely dining option was so convenient for me to get to. I invited two close friends to join me for a 6:30 dinner, and we were impressed with the nice setting (tiny garden patio), the friendly and attentive service, and the many offerings on the menu. Lots of choice for everyone, and ditto for the cocktail/wine/beer list ! My brown rice bowl
with salmon was healthy, crunchy, generous and tasty -- not to mention a terrific bargain at $20 (incl. leftover takeout). We will definitely remember Met Bar for future girlfriend get togethers in metrowest.
Enjoyed the meal, was a little disappointed in the Ahi Tuna Burger, we were not expecting ground up Ahi Tuna. Still it was good, and the salads we had were excellent. Would go back again.
I always enjoy the Met Bar. The food is really consistent and their custom bloody mary at brunch is amazing.
Incredible food great staff and good prices a must go week night dinner spot
the waiter was extremely helpful with my food allergy concerns
Our experience was what we expected. It was a convenient place to meet. We were coming from 3 different directions. Food is average. Noise level a bit high. We made our own experience. It had nothing to do with Met Bar.
Great food for thae mall! (The diet soda is not good if you don't drink that matters)
We have had the same waitress a number of times and she is always friendly and pleasant. The food was great and there is never any pressure to leave like at some other restaurants. We love the Met Bar!
We had reservations for brunch/lunch on Mother's Day. The server was very attentive, but the food was extremely disappointing. One guest ordered an omelet, which was so tough that it required a knife to cut. Another guest ordered a salmon burger from the burger bar which was overcooked and tasteless. This was my second unsatisfactory meal and I will not be going back for a third. If you only want a drink, the bar and bar menu were attractive.
While I like the food and atmosphere the noise level was incredibly high. We were seated in a smaller room off to the side of the restaurant and the acoustics may have intensified the noise but we could not even hear one another at the table .. for that reason alone I wont be going back soon
Waiter was excellent, food was superb and brought out fast. Loved the atmosphere and the seating. Perfect ambiance and a nice little hideaway in the mall.
Great dinner with the lady Foods always good had to take some to go will be back.
We have been to the Met Bar many times. It seems each time we go the food and service get more and more average. On this day the service was awful: "Please give us another minute to look at the menu" doesn't mean "come back in 15 minutes." We were at the restaurant for a whole hour before our food finally got to the table. I asked at one point what could be taking so long for our food to arrive and our server said that the steak tips take a long time. (I had 2 children in my party...maybe offer to at least bring their food?) I ordered my salad ($18) with steak tips (an additional $12) cooked medium. It came with 3 small pieces of steak that were charred to an inch of their life. Once our server came back to check on our satisfaction, most of my party was 3/4 done with their meal and I wasn't going to send my salad back--I was hungry! I did tell our server to inform the chef that the steak was WAY overcooked and the cost of the steak was removed from our bill.
The Met Bar is always a good time; nice menu and wine list; energetic feel, good service. This time a dish I've had several times wasn't quite up to par, but the server promptly took it back and had it replaced. (I often get the salmon burger "Tokyo" style, on a bowl of lettuce mix. This time for some reason the sauces were on the bottom of the bowl; then the lettuce, soaking in them; then topped with the burger. The steam from the burger combined with the pooled sauce = yuck re: my lettuce. They made me a new one with the sauces on the side; I've never had to ask for it that way before but if you don't like your greens soggy, perhaps ask for it that way just to be sure.) Anyway, it's a good place to get together with friends; my husband and I also go with our young daughter sometimes as it's good for families too.
