Met Bar and Grill Natick Ratings and Reviews
Our party of six sat at a round table in a poorly lit corner. We had made reservations ahead of time and were disappointed that we were seated in such a poor location, esp. when there were other well lighted tables available. When we mentioned our unhappiness about the lighting, the waiter just said "everyone complains about this table. No offer was made to improve the situation. Not good!
This place used to be much better. The best thing about this place is you can sit for a served meal without a wait or via an Open Table reservation. Service was poor. Hamburger was over cooked and role stale. Not much better than what you can get at food court.
Met Bar and Grill has never been a disappointment. We go there for a consistent burger and when we want a fun place to eat. A member of our family is gluten free and we've never had a problem order for her. They have may gluten free options as well as ordering a burger without the bun. The only small issue is some of the host table staff can get short with patrons when they are busy. This occurred the other night when we showed up as well as on past occasions. But, once inside the restaurant we've never had an issues with staff.
One of the worst meals I have ever had in my life I’m a regular the bartender and servers know me on a first name basis I dine here a lot and this was by fat the worst meal I have ever had my food was burnt so bad that it was black and chard and bitter as all hell I order a thanksgiving burger stuffing shouldn’t be black right? I waited over an hour for you to burn the living hell out of my food and you actually served me it like it was fine I’m so disappointed
Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great service. The burgers in a bowl with arugula, onion and tomatoe is very good. They have many hamburger varieties to chose from. One of us sampled the seasonal pumpkin beer and ordered it. The pumpkin flavor wasn’t overpowering. We missed the happy hour appetizers but they look worth trying another time.
My husband and I used to like the drinks here and came here often. He is very particular about his Manhattan. Last time when we were there, he noticed the drink tasted different. We asked the waiting staff to remake it and make sure to add bitter. This time, the drink came, even I can taste the difference. Not sure what's going on at the bar but probably we won't order any drinks any more. Having said that, the burgers had been consistently good. The rating is just to reflect the quality of the drinks.
We enjoyed our lunch. It was a beautiful
day and we sat outside. Nice private area. We had a steak chopped sald and a chopped green salad with shrimp. The burger and fries that my family member ordered was one of his favorite burgers. We also had the bolognese which was well done. Good service. Good food. We did not try the cocktails on this visit. We will be returning. We enjoy dining there when shopping at the mall but would return for an evening meal as well. Large menu with a varied selection.
Our experience at Met Bar & Grill was very uneven. It took an hour to get our food - never a good start. The burgers were good, the fries were uninspired, and some of the food was really mediocre. It was incredibly loud inside the restaurant. From what I understand it's one of the better options at the Natick Mall but that doesn't mean it's great. The place was packed though so if you do plan to go be sure to reserve ahead.
I live nearby and forgot that this lovely dining option was so convenient for me to get to. I invited two close friends to join me for a 6:30 dinner, and we were impressed with the nice setting (tiny garden patio), the friendly and attentive service, and the many offerings on the menu. Lots of choice for everyone, and ditto for the cocktail/wine/beer list ! My brown rice bowl
with salmon was healthy, crunchy, generous and tasty -- not to mention a terrific bargain at $20 (incl. leftover takeout). We will definitely remember Met Bar for future girlfriend get togethers in metrowest.
We had reservations for brunch/lunch on Mother's Day. The server was very attentive, but the food was extremely disappointing. One guest ordered an omelet, which was so tough that it required a knife to cut. Another guest ordered a salmon burger from the burger bar which was overcooked and tasteless. This was my second unsatisfactory meal and I will not be going back for a third. If you only want a drink, the bar and bar menu were attractive.
While I like the food and atmosphere the noise level was incredibly high. We were seated in a smaller room off to the side of the restaurant and the acoustics may have intensified the noise but we could not even hear one another at the table .. for that reason alone I wont be going back soon
We have been to the Met Bar many times. It seems each time we go the food and service get more and more average. On this day the service was awful: "Please give us another minute to look at the menu" doesn't mean "come back in 15 minutes." We were at the restaurant for a whole hour before our food finally got to the table. I asked at one point what could be taking so long for our food to arrive and our server said that the steak tips take a long time. (I had 2 children in my party...maybe offer to at least bring their food?) I ordered my salad ($18) with steak tips (an additional $12) cooked medium. It came with 3 small pieces of steak that were charred to an inch of their life. Once our server came back to check on our satisfaction, most of my party was 3/4 done with their meal and I wasn't going to send my salad back--I was hungry! I did tell our server to inform the chef that the steak was WAY overcooked and the cost of the steak was removed from our bill.
The Met Bar is always a good time; nice menu and wine list; energetic feel, good service. This time a dish I've had several times wasn't quite up to par, but the server promptly took it back and had it replaced. (I often get the salmon burger "Tokyo" style, on a bowl of lettuce mix. This time for some reason the sauces were on the bottom of the bowl; then the lettuce, soaking in them; then topped with the burger. The steam from the burger combined with the pooled sauce = yuck re: my lettuce. They made me a new one with the sauces on the side; I've never had to ask for it that way before but if you don't like your greens soggy, perhaps ask for it that way just to be sure.) Anyway, it's a good place to get together with friends; my husband and I also go with our young daughter sometimes as it's good for families too.
The place is DIRTY. Lets start with that. Ok, sure, its winter. But everytime I come, its filthy. The roasted cauliflower lacked flavor. Food is eh. Menu is too big. I want to love Met, like I did in Nantucket, or Southie. Natick Collection is just a train wreck waiting to happen. It is dark and dirty. Get with it people.
Pretty unsatisfied with the overall experience. Food quality has gone down. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was flavorless. My friends ordered burgers and they were just ok. I have eaten at The Met on Newbury street plenty of times and the quality of food has been pretty great so I'm not sure why the Natick one isn't at the same level.
The service was also quite poor. Our waitress was a little strange. She never even asked us how our food was or if we liked it. I doubt I will ever eat here again.
