The place was busy but not too crazy. Our food took over an hour to get to the table ( we did not order drinks or appetizers). My son's cheeseburger was ordered as "well done" and came out raw in the middle. when I pointed this out to the waitress, she said, "what do you want me to do about it? the kitchen is crazy tonight". I didn't expect anything other than maybe an apology or replacement burger but her response was terrible. Needless to say, we won't go there again.
Our server, Rachel, was outstanding, and our order was cooked to perfection. Met Bar and Grill is an excellent restaurant for lunch or dinner. This restaurant never disappoints.
My only issue with Metbar is the number of items that have mayonnaise..often disguised as aioli, russian dressing, etc.
For a restaurant with such terrific food, I don't understand the need to put it on so many of the menu items. Mayo on cauliflower? french fries? squirted on tacos without listing it on the menu (I'm sure it was chipotle aioli or something like that).
LOVE the restaurant, service is always great..burgers are fantastic..please, no mayo.
Excellent staff and our meal was delicious. It was a busy Friday night but we were seated right on time. The host and our wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We're definitely going back soon. The steak tips were delicious and my turkey burger with sweet potato fries was excellent.
Great lunch with friends. The waitstaff is very considerate and let us enjoy good conversation after we finished lunch. We never felt rushed and the food was delicious.
We had great service “Rich” was very nice. Food was good!
Great lunch and excellent service.
The food was ok...very busy since it is school vacation week.
Our inexperienced waitress returned 15 minutes after our orders were placed to inform us that the kitchen could not accommodate a simple request. Ordered a replacement rice bowl which was bland and then had to wait an additional 5 minutes for hot sauce. Had cold air blowing on us throughout our entire meal despite numerous requests.
We're never disappointed by Met Bar & Grill; the food is always tasty and service is always on-point. I'm really falling for their Met Minis (sliders), which are just the perfect amount of food. The LA burger is my favorite; it's not overstuffed, and it has a great mix of flavors with the alfalfa sprouts, avocado, tomato, and bacon.
The host is very accommodating! Great atmosphere! My friends and I will go again!!!!
Bartenders were great. Cocktails, food and service were very good. My one complaint is that we were coming to celebrate my husband and son's birthdays. I let them know ahead of time and also when we checked in and was told by the host that he already knew. There was no special acknowledgment such as a really good table, bday greeting from staff , etc. We had a great dinner but I thought they would do a little something extra to make us feel special. This has been the case at most fine restaurants we have celebrated at.
Having dined at The Met-Back Bay quite a few times while in a Boston I was pleased to find The Met-Dedham on Open Table. My partner and I were doing a round trip for a delivery from the Berkshires and wanted to have a nice dinner. In terms of the food the portions were generous, nothing we had was bad but it was mediocre, it just wasn’t noteworthy. The drinks were generous which did make up a bit for the food. The ambiance of the place was more of a chain restaurant than what I have experienced on Newbury St. It’s fine for families with kids but not a place for a date or quiet conversation. I think I’ll head back to Newbury St for my next Met dinner!
I always have a great time when I come here. The service and food never disappoints. They now have some new menu items. I tried the chicken Milanese and it was one of the best dishes I have had.
When I walked in, I was not greeted for several minutes. The man at the desk was on the phone, sounded like he was taking a takeout order, and did not even make eye contact to let me know he would be with me soon. There was another person behind him at the desk who just stood there without doing anything. When we were finally led to the table, I handed my credit card to him for the table when the person I was with went to the bathroom (it was their birthday) and it was a battle to get him to take it before the other person got back to the table. The waiter was friendly, but interrrupted several times in the first few minutes beore we had a chance to look over the menu and then did not come back for a long while. He told us we could just “wave him down” but was standing with his back to our table chatting with other servers. Overall, the service was not good and the food was mediocre at best.
Disappointed in the choice of the Met Bar for our girls get-together. We were all looking forward to it as it came recommended by friends. Most of our issue was with the server who never gave her name. She spoke with confidence so we assumed she understood what we were asking. We asked what certain things were on the menu. For instance we were expecting mashed potatoes with skin after asking what smashed potatoes were. What we got were roasted/fried chunks of potatoes with some kind of cheese. This was just one of the issues. The biggest offense occurred however when I ordered an after dinner drink. I asked for a Manhattan. When it arrived, it didn't look quite right and I commented that it didn't look like the right color. She waited while I tasted it and much to my surprise, it was overwhelmingly peachy. I happen to be allergic to peaches. I immediately told her that I was allergic to peaches and asked if that was what was in the drink. She said yes and said she'd get the manager. The manager never came, the server asked if I was ok, and I asked for plenty of water which I had to ask for more than once. I was trying not to ruin our night out, but after half an hour with no sight of server or manager, I had to seek out the host to ask for the check so we could leave. I happened to ask if he knew what had happened at our table and he did not and said he would get the manager. After explaining to the manager what had happened, she told us that the server told her the customer didn't like the drink. By now my lips were swollen and we wanted to get out of there. I understand mistakes happen, but the way the server handled things was not right. As for the food, the steaks were good but too salty. The potatoes were left uneaten, and the dish could have used a vegetable. We will not waste our money giving them a second try, there are too many other places in the area.
We had the calamari app. Dipping sauce was good but there seemed to be more fried peppers than actual calamari. My wife's burger was good my Tuni was very good. Atmosphere feels like a cafeteria. High ceiling, bad lighting, fake would tables. Service was great and since we were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie it was fine.
We didn't plan this dinner, but it happened nevertheless, because we were in the area and we were hungry. It was Sunday night, right before the MLK day, so the restaurant was packed. We were told the wait was about 30-40 minutes, so I immediately jumped on Open Table and got a reservation for 7.30 pm, which reduced the wait time significantly. People, do your reservations! So, instead of 8.10-8.20, we got sited at 7.40 pm instead. We ordered burgers and they never disappoint. Juicy, good quality meat, crunchy fries, decent portions. The service was very good. Our waitress rushed to give me the pickled onions, when she realized I was instead given pickled cucumbers, and we loved her for that. Everything was outstanding and we'll be back.
A go to place for regular business meals. Noise level medium allowing good conversation without intruding on other tables. Fair selection of nenu options but good food!!
The food and the service are always excellent at this location.
Good food and excellent service
We go there all the time with our teenagers and usually it’s very good. This time the server was really slow to take our order (like 20 minutes), and the chicken teriyaki app was bad, as in spoiled. We did not eat it and they took it off the bill. I’m sure we’ll go back as on the whole it’s consistently good.
Large menu. Something for everyone. Excellent service. Friendly staff.
It was not busy for lunch that day and we spent 3 hours over drinks, appetizers, lunch and coffee. We were not rushed through our friends get together here, and really enjoyed it.
New Year’s Eve!!! Was amazing. Great service!!!
Food was cold and vegetables were over cooked (and we paid a $2 surcharge to substitute for fries). Not recommended.
Went after a football game - we were staying in Dedham and the food was excellent and the service was very good. We have been before and it was very busy but this New Years Eve we had a 6:30 reservation and it was quiet and pleasant. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous salmon and tuna tartare. Macaroni and cheese the best I've ever had.
our waitress was very nice but the salad was terrible and it came missing some ingredients. Very expensive meal for nothing but kale!
Waiter was great. Bartender was not!
Brunch was so yummy! Avocado toast with corn & tomatoes was amazing! Book orange bellinis were delicious! Perfect for the holiday’s
Always a bit pricey but Met Bar & Grill, whether in Legacy Place or at the Natick Mall is always consistently good. Prefer the one in Framingham in the summer because the outdoor patio is a bit more private than the one in Dedham. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We were there a long time and didn't feel rushed. I had the brick chicken, which was excellent and there was no problem substituting the vegetatable. For dessert, we shared the toll house chocolate chip pie - a staple when I eat there. It was delicious !
Food was very good. Burgers are huge. Recommend the Fried Chicken. Ser ice was great. Made a rez and they sat us right away.
This is my favorite Met. The food is always excellent, and you're always made to feel welcome. Service is excellent and the hostess and waitstaff very friendly. We had a wonderful time last night, in large part due to a great experience at the Met.
I had the salmon burgers which was terrible. My partner had steak which was delicious. Kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers. Milk shakes were fabulous. Also the calamari appetizer was great.
A mistake. Service was good but food mediocre at best. I I were the cook I would have been too embarrassed to put the way over cooked steak fries on my plate. How can you not get fries right?
The salads, burgers and beer are great. Service is efficient and prompt. It is a good spot for casual dining when you do not want to cook at home. Only criticism is the carpet needs cleaning/ replacement.
First time there, business meeting with clients. Great service, large selection from dinner and wine menu
Service wasn't great. The menu could use an update....the burger bar thing is cool, but the other options need more variety. Are they American Food? Asian Food? Mexican Food? It felt like it was a little of not so much - not enough focus and the quality wasn't great.
Lost orders, wrong food, spotty service at best. A truly awful experience that management was allerted to while the meal could be salvaged...and they choked. Complete disaster on a night they weren’t busy.
