MET Back Bay
Had never been for breakfast before. It was delicious and relaxing. Highly recommend.
It took the waiter 20+ minutes to show up at our table. When food eventually arrived it was cold. Asked for cream cheese (asked previously) for bagel, took 30 minutes. Sent meal back twice because it was undercooked. Gave up on third time. Couple next to us was horrified by dirty glass. All in all,a horrible and too expensive experience. Do not recommend. FYI, my first review ever.
Food ok but service was slow and sub-standard with many mistakes.
Server was very friendly. Nice menu
Our server seemed to forget our special requests--no mayo, salad instead of fries, dressing on the side--but the food took so long to arrive that we didn't say anything. Not ideal. But still a nice place for a quiet work lunch with respectable food.
Nice place for brunch. We sat in the library where there's the bar it was very nice and quiet. I did peek at the dining room area and that seemed very nice with large windows. Food was delicious however wasn't the same menu posted here or on their website.
Don't expect it to be fast though. Not a problem for us but just a heads up for others. I appreciated that we weren't rushed out of there and could enjoy a nice leisurely brunch.
Good brunch spot, good variety in food. One recommendation is I wish they had fresh squeezed juice options. They only had pasteurized juice.
Met Back Bay was good. The hot chocolate flight was fun and delicious. The pasta and steaks were good. I'd recommend this restaurant. Parking is a big pain.
Service was excellent
The food here is consistently very good but unfortunately, when we came on a Saturday it was a terrible let down. We had a reservation for 7 people at 1:15pm- we did not get drinks until 1:55! We didn't even get water or an acknowledgment for 20 minutes. Extremely disappointing
The wait for this place is around 1 hours (if you don’t have the reservation). The waiter charged me $25 for the VIRGIN Bloody Mary. I knew that he charged me for the alcohol and I confronted him but he didn’t even try to adjust the price. I also ordered the California Hen House Hash. Do not order this because it just a bunch of fried potatoes and 2 eggs (the waiter didn’t even ask me how i’d like my eggs to be cooked) and some old avocados (it turned colors). This place is not worth your money. The quality of the food and the service are horrible. I’ll Never come back again.
I can't believe that for months now, they have not fixed the ladies room - no heat, no hot water and the dryer blows COLD air. Seriously!!
Wonderful waiter Colin was attentive to all of us and made our experience great!
We were there for lunch. Great French Onion soup and Caeser salad with big piece of grilled chicken
Food was delicious and the hot chocolate flight was fun! :)
The restaurant had said when had called that the kitchen would be open for the time we had set a reservation. When we arrived, no one would greet us and we approached a waitress who said the kitchen had closed and no new customers could be served. We were extremely disappointed.
Great lunch, great server. Only constructive criticism I have is that they put us in a booth which is very restrictive for 8. Hard to get in and out!
We arrived and our table was ready, but then our server didn't get to us for approx 15 minutes, and this only after we said something. Drinks were slow to come, and then when our food arrived, our party of 5 ended up sending 2 dishes back because the eggs were nearly raw. The hash brown and pork brunch dish was incredibly salty. Overall, we were not pleased; it was my 3rd visit to the Met, and I was sorely disappointed.
The staff was accommodating and very friendly. The meal was paced perfectly and the quality was top-notch!
We enjoyed our meals but were disappointed in the service. It was a slow night so not sure what the issue was...probably not adequately staffed.
Went for brunch New Years Day, 4 at table, they gave 2 of our meals to another table, had to wait another 20 minutes yo have them replaced so didnt eat together, did comp those 2 meals but we went to eat together
NYE dinner. Our service was AWFUL! Our waiter left with out telling anyone and we sat waiting for a half hour for our drinks. They had to ask us if we got our dinner and then asked what we had. Worst service ever. They didn’t offer to do anything either. I do have to say the service at the bar downstairs was great and friendly. Will not go back to the restaurant but will go to bar again.
My girlfriend and I chose MET for NYE for the close proximity to all the happenings in Copley for First Night. Overall, the food was good, the skirt steak was delicious, and the orecchiette was very flavorful - although it seemed like a lot of pasta, kind of like using an entire box of Barilla. Half way through dinner, our server disappeared, and we learned from others that he went home sick. Our appetizers came in a different order, but still tasty. Hope Colin is feeling ok.
We love the MET! Most recently, we were there for New Years Eve dinner. The menu hasn't changed much since our last New Years Eve outing to the MET, but we heard that they are revitalizing it soon. I am told the steaks and burgers are universally great, but I prefer the vegetarian options. The rice bowl or the MET Green Guru salad with tofu are my favourites. We usually end our evening a flight of hot chocolates. I hope they'll stay on the menu this year.
New Years dinner
Love MetBar. Go often and whenever someone in family has a birthday. But was very loud this time.
The good about this place is that our server was extremely helpful and considerate. He split our checks perfectly and responded to requests happily. The ambiance is nice- lots of hustle and bustle on a wknd brunch meal- pretty inside. Other than that, the chocolate experience sampler was SO bad. One of the drinks was warm milk and the others were very weak basically no chocolate added. 6 out of 7 meals were pretty blah. Don’t go here for the food.
We always love the Met! We go each time we are in Boston.
Was OK. Feel like the prices have gone up, the menu has decreased a little and the decor has really gone down hill. Service was slow.
Server was terrible and messed up many food dishes and drinks
Went for brunch and nobody had a bad meal.
The food and service was just ok...seemed like waiter had too much to handle. The restaurant was not that clean and the bathroom was filthy...
Was a great atmosphere and food was delicious! Hot Chocolate Flights were amazing!
Great atmosphere, hot chocolate flights were fantastic. I ordered eggs and tips, tips were good but the egg had three hairs in it. The staff was curteous and gave me a free meal as well as sent the manager over. The situation was well handled, I realize this happens having worked in a restaurant myself. My girlfriend had a three-cheese omelette which was just alright. The home fries were great, but the omelette was made with egg beaters which was a let down. For such an upscale place, you’d think that the eggs would be real in the omelettes. Overall, great atmosphere for brunch, the food is good when done right, and I highly recommend the hot chocolate options.
The service was abysmal, the coffee was burnt and the breakfast was mediocre.
The waitstaff is always super friendly and they accommodate children which is a plus!
The French toast is phenomenal!
They also have the best Bloody Mary in town!
I got the orichiette pasta with sausage and it was grossly over salted! My boyfriend got the chicken with the pancake and the chicken was cooked fine, could’ve used a sauce to make it more interesting. Your biscuits are wonerful. For the price, I don’t think the food was great. I would come back for drinks, but there are so many places in the area with great food and great drinks. The server was very nice and the atmosphere was great. Loved the decor.
The biscuits were amazing!
I loved the location of MET Back Bay and also the menu options and the visual appeal of the food. However, I was disappointed with the service we got. With the reservation, we still had to wait at least 10 minutes to get seated. We had to wait another 10 minutes for our waitress to come to us. She asked us for our drinks first, and took 20 minutes to deliver three coffee drinks before asking us what we wanted to eat. It took another 20 minutes for the food to come out, and our main entrees came out at least 45 minutes after we initially ordered, even after I stated I wanted them to come out as they were made. We asked for one dish with jalapenos and one without, but we're pretty certain that they were just both made without jalapenos. Someone else (not the waitress) came to check on us from time to time and her facial expression seemed annoyed and disinterested. The food and service here was just not worth the price I paid.
