Awesome place for a date night! Unique, intimate ambiance. Food was excellent- I was extremely impressed with the size and quality of the house salad starter, we both loved that as well as the gorgonzola steak pasta, which was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly. Best service I've had in a while. Staff was so kind and regularly checked in with us, including the manager. Our server, Jordan, was great. Really appreciate that they came to make sure our steaks were cooked to our liking (they were). Wine was very good too. Thanks for making our evening special, we will be back!

Above and beyond. Almost ten years ago, we got engaged using the old tasting flutes. Our incredible server (I believe her name was Hannah) was able to track them down and they gifted us a pair. Outside of incredible customer care, the food was INCREDIBLE. the whipped ricotta appetizer is a must. Gorgonzola steak linguine was mind blowing. I didn't have room for dessert which I'll regret for a while, next time!

First off, our server Julia was simply fantastic! Can’t say enough of just how refreshing her attitude was during the evening. Now for the rest- The wines tasted and paired for dinner were good to very good. The dining room where we sat was a great palette with which to work but decor/interior design was surprisingly inept. Huge glass windows looking out to the countryside covered by bad taste in selections of ??? Stained concrete floors with a couple of rugs better off in another place. Now for the food: Snapper special presented well but overcooked - and we were sooo excited to hear that snapper was on the menu. Gorgonzola stuffed chicken presented well (as well) but overpowering flavor of the cheese sauce masked a well cooked chicken breast. Didn’t get a taste of the ribeye but looked as if it was cooked a perfect medium rare. Altogether, was a disappointing first experience at Messina Hof. May serve management well to visit some hill country wineries for inspiration. This establishment has been around way too long to come off as an underfunded startup…

This is our second visit to the Vintage House restaurant, and both experiences were very good. On our first visit in Spring 2022, we had one of the best meals we have every had anywhere in the USA--a crusted chicken breast in a wonderful sauce over risotto. It is no longer on your menu. Last nights meal was very good. Julia was a wonderful waitress, and her wine recommendations were much appreciated. However, my wife's veal was tasty but tough, and she was disappointed. Also, until the construction is completed on the roads around the winery, I strongly recommend you post information on your website and make your reserved customers fully aware of the detoured route your customers must take to get to Vintage House. When we got to the barricades, we were totally lost about how to get to Vintage House; and the directions we received on the phone were not very clear. The staff should know that customers need to exit Hwy 6 at the Madisonville Hwy and go northeast to Wallis Road before turning right.

This was the fourth time for us to visit Messina Hof’s dining room, with most times being good, but this one started off with a cheese plate that looked like it came directly from a supermarket—even being cubed, lacking distinct flavor, plus our waiter didn’t seem to know anything about them. For a winery that likely serves cheese with wine, this should be a step up—at the very least Whole Foods quality. My starter didn’t come out until our entrees did, which took quite a while to arrive. Good for them for taking my starter off our bill. Our entrees were good, if a bit bland. Wine was good.

Unique, fun place for dinner with friends while in town for the game. Nice variety of dinner options for everyone. Best part is that it was quiet enough for us to visit - the main purpose of our dinner. Wine was delicious, of course. Service was very good, although if there would be a critique at all they could use a couple more waitstaff. It didn't seem to slow down our service. Right now, the drive to and from is a bit tricky due to road construction - a quick call to the restaurant on our way there helped us find the best route vs. GPS which ran us into a roadblock. Our group would definitely return.

I have had the experience of dining at Messina Hof before and I was very disappointed in this visit. The food was not up to par or of good quality. The wine and the manager and wait staff were excellent! The dress was supposed to be appropriate for upscale dinner dining and we were certainly overdressed among the cut off shorts and tank tops! Something in the atmosphere was missing and that’s a shame. It didn’t come close to my other visits! No quail and no Brie? 😕

The restaurant had a flashing light above our table, the Caesar salad was rancid and the veal very tough and not edible. The steak was excellent.

We stayed overnight with our Airstream at the winery and enjoyed a very nice dinner. My filet was prepared perfectly. Salad, entree and dessert were delicious. My husband thought his fish had a little bit too much salt. But the wine made up for it.

We loved the restaurant! We plan to come back when we return to the College Station area. My husband had the best bacon wrapped filet of his life. I had an amazing chicken dish with gorgonzola cheese! The wine was reasonably priced and delicious! The desserts were incredible!

Very unique location. We were here on Friday before an Aggie game on Sat, so all restaurants were packed! We thought the menu was quite limited, but nice. I ordered my steak filet medium and it came rare. Sent it back, came rare again! Server took it off our bill. Caesar salad was terrible. House salad was great. I probably won’t go back except to buy wine!

Came here for my husband bday dinner. The food was cold, and the plate of a calamari had more breadcrumbs than the actual dish. There was an annoying fan that was shaky, it sounded like we were in a cafeteria. Everyone was kind and tried to service us well but rushed us. They close at 9 and we had an 8pm reservation. I would rather them have not taken my reservation if they were going to rush us. I wouldn’t recommend this place but it was over all fine.

Three of the 4 meals were luke warm to cold. The 4th meal came out late was hot but we had almost finished our meals when she got hers. I was disappointed in the meals but not the service or ambiance. I recommeded this place to my niece who wanted to buy us a nice meal so we did not say anything about the less than warm meals we received.

Our group had a fabulous evening of wine tasting. We sampled several small bites and loved them all—a nice charcuterie board, a couple of flatbreads, spinach artichoke dip, and a delicious Gouda cheese dip. Our server Kate was appropriately attentive and did a great job of sharing information regarding our wine selections. We will definitely be back!

We signed up for that 5pm cellar tour. Found out it wasn’t happening for the month of August when we arrived. They were very apologetic and gracefully accepted us to join in the wine tasting. We enjoyed that very much. I really missed doing the cellar tour. Do plan to come back. The dinner at 6:30 at the restaurant was absolutely amazing! Thank you for the wonderful staff and beautiful place for us to come and enjoy!

We were greeted by the manager and took us directly to our table. Our waitress Julia told us all about the featured appetizer and entrees. The feature was a medley of Lamb, Duck and Pork. It was fantastic. The wines by the glass were very diverse and exceptional. The food came out of the kitchen promptly and the service was fantastic. The Vintage House overlooks the vineyard. We ate in a working barrel room. The experience exceeded my expectations.

Messina Hof Winery & Resort, a Texas vineyard established in 1977 by Paul and Merrill Bonarrigo, is rooted in the union of two family heritages. Our 100-acre estate, of which 42 host the vineyard, is nestled in Bryan, Texas.In addition to the winery, the estate is home to The Villa bed & breakfast, The Vintage House restaurant and the Winemaster's Room wine bar. Tours and wine tastings are offered seven days a week. Our calendar of events is packed with cooking classes, wine appreciation classes, food and wine pairing seminars, murder mystery and winemaker dinners, and more!
