About Meson Sabika
Located just west of downtown Naperville, Mesón Sabika has been serving the community since 1990. Built in 1847, the pristine four-acre estate and beautiful mansion welcome you before you reach the driveway. Whether you dine in one of the mansion’s eight dining rooms decorated in traditional Spanish décor, attend a wedding or corporate event in the pavilion, or sit out back on the patio, the cuisine of Spain and delicious drinks make for an unparalleled dining experience.
For a quiet, romantic dining experience we recommend a week night reservation. The small mansion rooms fill up on the weekends, making for a more lively dining experience.
Our dress code is "proper casual/casual dressy." Gentlemen, we respectfully ask that you cover up your arms (no tank tops). And ladies, we ask that the majority of your midriff is covered (no bandeaux’s). We ask that everyone remove their baseball hats when dining inside the mansion. Thank you!

Meson Sabika Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is overrated for the value offered to us. You can smell the odor of the older building as soon as you are stepping in. The food was average, nothing close to Spanish tapas other than names in the menu. We were waiting when the waiter would clean the table for 15 minutes, waiters were going back and force and nobody cleaned the table even it was obvious that we were done. Overall a very mediocre experience for the restaurant with that high rating.
This was our first time here. A lot of our friends said we would love it and boy did we!! An amazing menu and setting! From the moment we sat down we knew it was going to be great! Our waiter was very helpful with suggestions, so we let him choose and it was all spot on! A great value for an amazing quality of service, food, setting!! We can’t wsit to go back. We live an hour south and will have no problem driving there for dinner!! 5 Stars!!
The room we’re in was small with low ceilings, so the noise was quite loud from the group in the room but the food completely made up for it. Will definitely be coming back. One of the best meals I’ve had and the service was fantastic. Looking forward to coming back during the summer to see the patio our server was telling us about
The manager was amazing......we had a complaint about the noise level in our dining room and he could not have been more gracious. The food was fabulous, but the noise level from the two tables we sat between was deafening. I don't think it is the fault of the restaurant to have rude clients.
We came for lunch with 5 adults. 4 of us ordered tapas, but one person ordered a lunch entree.. and it came out 15-20 minutes after everyone else had gotten our tapas. The waiter told us twice it was on its way out, but then left us hanging. By the time it finally came out, he gave a super quick “sorry for the delay” with no explanation.. so 4 people had to eat and leave one person sitting and waiting for his steak. I’ve dined here many times and never had a bad experience until now. Usually the waitstaff is awesome, but this experience was definitely an unusual one. A good waiter would have offered something while he waited for his entree, or knocked it off the bill... it was just very odd that he acted like it was no big deal.
We have been here several times and always have a good time. Our server this time was not the best. The restaurant closes at 10 and at 9:40 they started clearing everything off of our table, including the bread basket and the fresh olives. We were in a conversation so we really didn't notice that was happening. When we asked for more bread and olives, she said she would have to charge us for the olives because they first serving is complimentary. Well, we had at least 10-15 olives left when they took it away.
We just felt very rushed at the end, they were basically hawking us until we left, and we walked out of there before 10pm.
I will go back, but just disappointed on how the end of the night went. FYI, we had 4 people and our bill was a little over $200, so we weren't just sitting there talking and not ordering.
Came here for lunch. We each had the mushroom soup, goat chesse dip to share and two entrees. The salmon with asparagus and I had the chicken sandwich. All the food was good. Service was above average. The sangrias are a must but are pricey, used to be much less. Overall we would return.
We are from Michigan and were visiting our children in Naperville. We noticed Meson Sabika on our way to their home and thought it might be a good place to go for dinner on our last day with them. We were so right! Everything was perfect, and the wait staff were awesome. Will definitely make reservations for our next visit.
I love this place. I've been to Mason Sabika many times for dinner, drinks, and particularly the Sunday brunch. The service is always very prompt and friendly, even though they are usually quite crowded. Sunday brunch is a bit pricy, but worth it, large variety of tasty foods and a perfectly prepared ribeye was on the carving station.
Have been to Meson SABIKA many times. We were there on a very cold January night. We had to refuse the first table because it was along a window lined hall near the bar area and it was very cold. We were offered a table in one of the dining rooms that was much better.
I have always loved the tapas here and they didn't disappoint. It's a great place to go with a group so that you can try lots of things. Our waiter was great. He staged the tapas so they came out of the kitchen a couple at a time. Our dinner was the perfect pace.
Don't miss the Fire and Spice Martini. The perfect combination of cucumber vodka, citrus and Jalapeno. Our waiter brought us a complimentary profiterole because we were celebrating a birthday. So nice.
This is a great place for a girls night out. Good food, good drinks great place to catch up.
We go to MS on a monthly basis at the least. We took a friend and her husband out to celebrate her B-Day on Tuesday 1/2. Reservations at 6:30. Place was already full like a Fri or Sat night ...lots of buzzing conversations with couples and families. Great place to celebrate and enjoy the small plates and sangria. Was too loud for any type of intimate conversation, not too romantic as it can be on other nights. But we went for the food, the service and our friends. Great time!
When we arrived it was pretty empty, on a frigid Tuesday afternoon. Then the people came and were seated right next to us in this large restaurant . Our server was nice but got a bit side-tracked with the other tables. The lunches were delish! And the sangria and dessert were divine! Will go back when the weather is warmer ☀️
We love Meson Sabika. I thought it would be a good place to go NYE since our local tapas restaurant has closed. We booked through Open Table, and I wish we would have had something telling me that there was a fixed menu that evening. Typically not a problem but the fixed menu was 75-80% seafood and my husband and son do not like seafood. Thankfully we were able to order from the kids menu for my son (& a second for him, that was actually for my husband). I ate like a queen and enjoyed every bite! Service, atmosphere, food/drinks were great! So, I guess what I’m saying is to just check their actual website on special occasions to see what they have going on with the menu.
