Food excellent. Drinks delicious. Pricey. We were there on a quiet Monday night so it was not loud or crowded. Overall a great experience for this evening.
Tasty wonderful flavors, innovative menu, wonderful place to dine.
Disappointing decor, feels like a cheap canteen.. food was just ok, ambiance was below freezing pint.. decor reminds you of a bathroom rather than a restaurant.. not even close to deliver vibrancy on southern medeterranian ..
The food was amazing! We all enjoyed the meal very much, and our waiter was great! My only criticism was the portions could have been bigger...meatballs were very small. But food was delicious!!!
Horrible service. Took about 45 min to place an order even though the restaurant was relatively empty. Drinks were forgotten at the bar until we reminded our server after we had already received the food.
Definitely a great place for a date night! The food was great. The pita was one of the best I've had. The dessert was delicious as well
Meso was a surprising pleasant restaurant to dine at. The ambiance included dimly lit rooms and subtle lighting. Even enjoyed the silent vertical descending water fountain too. As for the food, the portions appeared to be on the small side, but easily made up for that in voluminous flavor and spices; which goes for all the taste plates and entree plates we tried. The cuisine is quite vegetarian friendly too. Lastly the service was highly responsive and friendly. Our server was extremely knowledgable to every drink and dish as well. Would definitely come back here again!
Meso was absolutely one of the best restaurants in a long time. Everything we had was very good. Really enjoyed it. Sometimes when you don't expect you will like the restaurant you get surprised. This was a great surprise indeed.
It was particularly a cold day and we were seated close to patio doors and it was def cold. They had some heaters but it wasn’t enough. Good was good and delicious but portions were too small for the price.
After the appetizers, we waited almost half an hour to get our entrees which were the whole fish and New York steak. I have to speak up and asked about the order until they were apologetic. The waitress did took off one of our appetizer for the inconvenience. Overall the experience was average.
Awesome ambiance with beautiful lamps and a fountain. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Fresh products and very good food: meat and fish, salads and vegetables...wine, beers and cocktails...Kids menu too!

Seems like the restaurant is still figuring things out. The staff was friendly but it took forever to get drinks.
The fish and Chicken were very good but the steak was fatty. When we mentioned it to the server, she said she would do something about that but did not follow up. The restaurant has a lot of potential.

Spectacular food. Very different from your standard Mediterranean food. More authentic and the spices were fantastic. Looking forward to trying some of the European wines

Good food, slow service. It just opened so hopefully they’ll fix the service once they know how many they need to service during the day.
We enjoyed our dinner. Great server, Luke. One dish was overlooked by the kitchen and it was made and the chef comp'd our dessert. All the breads we had were delicious. Disappointed with that flat bread topping, the egg was over cooked and not gooey as it should have been and the mushrooms were a bit tough. The beet spread was fabulous! We had dirty martinis and wished they were a bit more flavored with olive juice. Instead of sending our drinks back to be remade we asked for a shot of olive juice, which we were charged $2 for! Really? Next time we will send the drink back and make the bartender remake our drinks, which would cost more than $2. Really, you charged $2 for olive juice?
I will come back, but hoping to see things get smoothed out.

The decor is beautiful, the seating is comfortable, service was attentive and fast, but the food was SO salty to the point of it being the predominant flavor of every dish. I wanted to like this place, but the food is just too hard to enjoy.

Terrible service, mixed up orders, multiple forgotten orders. Friendly, though. Waited 30 min for our table despite arriving on time for reservation. Could not order drinks at the bar while waiting, bartenders literally ignore you. We suggested it to our friends for that night out together....pretty embarrassed, won’t do that again.

First time at this newly opened restaurant. It’s a nicely kitted out space, a nice ‘modern’ take on Mediterranean style. Our two top table had cocktails, the chicken, the hummus with lamb, the Brussels sprouts and for dessert, the pear and date with ice cream. The entire meal was amazing. We’ve eaten at every one of the ‘name’ Mediterranean restaurants from San Francisco to Palo Alto to Los Gatos to San Jose, and this meal definitely was the best. We look forward to returning often, and we highly recommend Meso.
On the negative side, although our wonderful server Aida did a valiant job (and a super job describing the menu and portion sizes to guide us) on a Saturday night, the restaurant was under staffed. Our table and the table near us waited ‘forever’ just for basics like water, ordering, and the check. The entire staff, even hosts, were trying to help out, but even with that, service was slow. We were seated next to the restaurants front windows, which were covered in temporary white paper, blocking the view of the outside fountain, and making us feel we were in the back alley of a dive restaurant, instead of what could have been some of the best seats in the house. The paper should have been removed prior to opening. One server in training joked with us twice about his wanting to eat the extra chicken we asked to take home with us. It might have been funny first time. It was not funny the second time. Lastly, the lighting in the men’s room is too bright. Tone it down some, this is a class act restaurant, not a fast food joint.

It was a Saturday night, and we had made reservations earlier in the week for a party of 8. Our group was seated at the stunnning long table adjacent to the bar. The brass hanging perforated lamps, and the furniture are very fitting for the restaurant. The menu is tantalizing, and the waitress commented that everything was intended to be shared across the table. Suffice to say, it is a beautiful restaurant. However, the food is a far stretch from where it should be.
1) Smoked eggplant: while good, I would have expected to have more eggplant pureed in the dip. The pita is phenomenal - densely spongy and delightfully warm. However, it is a bit odd that they only give you a single pita bread for the entire bowl of baba ganoush.
2) Hummus and crispy lamb: the crispy lamb bits on top really brings the hummus from a ho-hum average to sligthly better than average. Again, it was accompanied by a lone pita bread.
3) Crispy brussel sprouts: the edges are crisp and slightly burnt, making it a table favorite. However there was no charred scallion with feta, as was indicated on the menu. In the end, it really isn't any different from the brussel sprouts I've made at home.
4) Charred halloumi: I confess I am a huge fan of halloumi, so I did enjoy this dish. It has a well balanced char and tartness from the preserved lemons.
5) Harissa seared octopus: The octopus legs are masterfully cooked, but I would have chosen slightly larger legs to improve the ratio between the slightly crusty exterior and the delicately softened interior. The confit potatoes, kale, and herbed labneh were lackluster and too heavy to be paired with the ocopus.
6) Sauteed prawns: In my opion, it was in poor choice to use such a heavily flavored sauce for the prawns. I could tell from the texture the prawns were well cooked, but all I could really taste is the sauce, and none of the natural sweetness from the prawns.
7) Meso's roasted chicken: The chicken was a disappointment. It was surprisingly a bit dry

Great food option in Santana Row. Clean, healthy eats with a surprising (if short) list of wines from around the Med. Everything we ordered was tasty, looked good, well presented. Strongly suggest ordering various items and sharing with all at the table.
