Meso Maya - Ft. Worth
Chef Nico’s love for the culinary arts started at age nine, when he worked for a bakery, making deliveries and assisting in the kitchen in Mexico. Nico honed his skills at several restaurants throughout the country, in states such as Vera Cruz, where he learned about seafood, dried chilies, and making sauces from scratch, and Oaxaca, where he perfected tamale-making techniques. In 1996 he left Mexico for DFW so he could pursue his goal of becoming a renowned chef. By traveling from state to state throughout Mexico, Chef Nico learned many of the culinary skills that patrons in the area enjoy every day. Chef Nico earned his reputation within the Dallas restaurant scene by working at Cuba Libre, The Porch, Hibiscus, and Meso Maya. His food is celebrated for its complexity, unique presentation, and fresh flavors (thanks, in part, to his love of gardening—he grows peppers, tomatoes, squash, and onions).

Went there with a 7:45 reservation. Despite multiple open tables, we were told we had to sit in a small booth in the back that was a challenge for our party to sit or wait 30 more minutes for a table.
The staff was rude and not accommodating! We will never go back. Too many other good Mexican restaurants in town to dine!!
Beautiful location and amazing food!
The margaritas and Wait staff were good. I had the del mar. It was supposed to have shrimp, crab meat and avocado. There were 2 tacos, each contained 2 shrimp, there was no
crab meat at all and there were 2 small pieces of avacado. My husband had salmon which he said was just ok. This is our 2nd time there and our last. It cannot compare to the locations we have visited in Dallas.

Service was slow. We were sat away from main dining and waited quite awhile for even a beverage service. The menu is somewhat small entree wise, that much variety. Half way through our meal, ordered a to go entree. After driving an hour home, discovered the entree was totally opposite what we ordered (Ordered Salmon, got Carne Asada), which was made more eventful by the fact the person it was intended for can't eat red meat. At first glance, the appearance is depictive of rather "snobbish and snooty." When we did get service, the server was very personable and friendly, albeit rushed. I would recommend this restaurant to young adults and college students.

Our server was great, the location was perfect and the restaurant itself is a beautiful piece of architecture. The food, however was bland; it took me back to my high school days when we would eat at On The Border for lunch. I was a little disappointed but then I got the bill and appreciated the price for such blandness. The saying that you get what you pay for is true here.
The food was ok. The queso was fantastic! We ended by ordering the chocolate cake, and it was huge, dry, and tasted like it came from the microwave. There was ice cream on top, but only a couple of spoon fills. It was not at all proportional to the size of the cake. Also, the corn in the ice cream made it feel like there were chunks of ice in it. I do not think we will eat there again.
The food was great and all but the service could have been a bit better . I almost felt a bit discriminated by our waiter who was not really paying much attention to us when we got seated at our table . We got out chips and salsa at the same time our food came out and we’re only checked up on 1 time while he took care more of the rest of his tables .
Great service, and our group seemed very satisfied with food . Diverse menu , not everyday tex mex We will be back.
We love the food! Different twist than usual Tex-Mex. Chips are from roasted corn and taste very fresh! Mole is also good!
The food is pre-made so you can’t make any changes to it whatsoever. I wanted extra cheese in the chile relleno, couldn’t do it. Just the fish in the ceviche and no shrimp since I’m allergic, couldn’t do it. Everything is already made and they just heat it up. Ridiculous if you ask me. Do not say you’re authentic when all your food is not made to order but made days before. Embarrassing date experience

Food, margaritas, and service was excellent! We had the beef arrachera, elotes, Brussels sprouts, queso, and the house margaritas. I appreciate that they do happy hour on fridays until 7! $5 margaritas!

Great Mother’s Day celebration
Our food was delicious as usual, however, after waiting almost 40 minutes for our food, the waitress advised us that someone had taken one of our meals and served it to another table. They were cooking it again ASAP. :( - we had to ask for drink refills, water and soda.

A gem for true Mexican cuisine with a great tex mex spin. The staff and our waiter were outstanding explaining the type of cuisine and differences in how dishes are cooked. Everything is cooked to order with outstanding flavor profiles. We enjoyed the avocado margarita - exceptional. We will be back, one of the best meals we have had in the Fort Worth area.

I met friends for lunch and ordered a meal to go for my husband. It was disappointing to have to ask for a bag of chips and salsa to go with my meal. They were provided when I asked for them but I shouldn’t have had to ask. Chips and salsa are figured into the cost of all entrees at a Mexican/southwestern restaurant and should have been I closed in the take out meal.

First time there with 6 of us for Easter Brunch. Food was great but kind of disappointed that the actual brunch menu only consisted of half of what was on the downloadable/QR code menu. Still very tasty and great service.
My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant! I tried the new mango strawberry margarita and it was great! We love everything about the food here, especially the chips and salsa.
