My all time favorite restaurant. Food and service is outstanding! Love this place!

A truly great find. We’re lucky to have it so near-by. We dine out often,and enjoy good food as much as good service.

The cocktails were lovely, but they were quite expensive. I also ordered Chardonnay, and got a 5 oz. pour for $14.00. Not a good value.
My husband ordered the mahi tacos, which were fair.
I ordered the salmon. It was good, but on the spicy side. The waitress said they were not spicy.

Food was good not great. Entrees are very expensive. Too expensive for a neighborhood store front. Hostess is rude and could benefit from customer service training!!!

Great drinks and great food to share with friends. Never disappointed after coming here. Keep up the good work.

Really, really outstanding food and friendly service. We've been here at peak times and not enjoyed the experience because of the crowds. We went early on a Sunday evening and had an absolutely wonderful meal.

This place had great reviews but a few people highlighted some issues. We went to see for ourselves. Unfortunately we had to agree with some of the not so great reviews. The ambience was very good as was the service. Plus all the food LOOKED terrific. But unfortunately the looks were deceiving. All thee dishes we had were presented very well but the taste was bland at best. Add to this the fact that everything at this restaurant is premium priced and I would have to say that we will likely not be back. A shame since we had such high hopes for this place.

Food was good but too loud

I really like the menu twists at Mesa Urbana and the El Jefe margarita is the best. Sound level can be atrocious during busy times but this Thursday evening it was totally tolerable. Pricey so it’s not a weekly visit type of place but we try to visit every few months and have never left disappointed.

Tasty fusion food w Mexican flair. Pricey menu. Overall good quality. Delicious red sangria.

Every item we have ordered at Mesa Urbana - in excess of a dozen- has been outstanding. The chef is very creative, but always delivers good flavors that work. Ignore the strip center “ambiance” and enjoy.

Excellent in every way!

Mesa Urbana is always a treat. Halibut Rissoto was fantastic. Never pass up their guacamole.

My favorite restaurant! Food was outstanding usual. Our waitstaff was excellent. The waitress was enthusiastic and did a great job of explaining the specials and answering questions. Out water glasses were kept full. Love the salsa. The cod was delicious as were the chicken lettuce wraps. The complementary pumpkin desert for my friends who were celebrating their anniversary was enjoyed. Mesa Urbana is my go to place for a special occasion as were as a nice night out.

I have been to Mesa Urbana many times but this time I tried the salmon. It was delicious! Also our table really loved the cauliflower.

We had a group of 10 for a business dinner, it was really excellent. Food, service and ambiance were great. Can be a little pricey, but everybody had a good time.

I come to the Northbrook area 3-4 times per year and always have dinner at Mesa Urbana. It’s great!

We LOVE Mesa Urbana!! They treat you like family. The food is excellent, the bar has anything you want and if you need to alter a meal choice, they will do it, no problem! We have referred many friends to this restaurant and they love it too!! Don't forget to order the guacamole, it's the best in town!!

Authentic appetizers and the best margaritas! Try the Mussels.

We were seated right away according to our reservation. Food arrived in a timely manner and it was delicious. The waiter was very pleasant.

As always, a 5 star review to Moe and Mesa Urbana! A great night to celebrate our mom's 80th birthday!

The food was great, portions were a little smaller than i would like for the price. Got the short rib tacos, and they fell apart on me everytime.

Best salmon I have ever had!

Great craft cocktails and the food had amazing flavors! Love that they served the guacamole with fresh veggies and not just chips. Located in an oldish strip mall but atmosphere inside is great! A little pricey but the quality of the food is totally worth it! Would definitely recommend!

Our 4th or 5th time at Mesa Urbana. Excellent food and great service.

Very different spin on Mexican food. Everything was very good. Only challenge was the noise level which made it hard to have a conversation. Otherwise everything was great! Will definitely go back again!!

My mom and i went for dinner and ordered 1 appetizer and 2 entrees, no drinks and the total came to $98 with tip. Food was very mediocre and the portions were small but the service was good.

I can’t believe such a fantastic restaurant is hidden in a strip mall. Will definitely be going back again. Went out with a group of girls and everything we had was absolutely delicious.

Took our friends to Mesa Urbana for the first time and they loved it the same way we do. The food and the service makes you return. Try the special— they never disappoint. Can’t wait to try their new restaurant in Lincoln Park when it opens!

This place is a gem! Great food, beautifully presented and quiet enough to carry a conversation. Highly recommend. Fresh ingredients and the place is small but very nicely decorated z I will be back for dinner!!

Specials are fantastic for dinner

Delicious cauliflower and thought the portion size was rather larger compared to my expectations after reading reviews. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. I loved the octopus appetizer and queso fundido (although not your typical fundido). My husband liked his lamb a lot as well but said the portion was small.
