Food was terrific. Great Mexican fusion
This place was recommended by a friend and we will pass the word to the world :). Very nice place, super friendly staff, delicious food. Highly recommend.
We had a large group for a business dinner. The service and food was excellent. Our server was top notch and made it seem as though we were a small 4 top. Everyone in our group commented about how good the food was and each enjoyed the evening. I would high recommend!
Food is always exceptional here with occasional specials. I'm partial to the tacos and the pasta dishes. Friendly bar scene and excellent specialty drinks. Cuban mojito is a favorite.
great food and service
presentation was outstanding
The food is excellent. The salmon is really, really good. Delish.
Wonderful food—novel preparation and plating—in an unlikely spot. Everything we ate was delicious! We also had a very attentive and knowledgeable server making the overall experience very memorable. We will definitely be back!
Way too over priced even if the food tasted good.
Food was delicious and creative flavors in the Mexican cuisine. Great service!
A little pricey but delicious. Definitely worth the occasional splurge.
Not our first time eating at Mesa Urbana, and also not our last. There’s a nice variety of margarita options and other drinks. The guacamole is very good, served with fresh vegetables, which is a nice change of pace and very tasty. Chips and salsa were on the table, but we didn’t eat them - too much better tasing food to be had. The main dishes are just as good as any fine dining establishment in Mexico, and heads above anything else in the Northshore area. Our table had shrimp, risotto, and the house special seared tuna. Presentation was very nice, preparation was original, nicely seasoned, and delicious.
We had another great meal at Mesa Urbana. From the fresh cocktails to the perfectly cooked seafood everything was delicious. I highly recommend the grilled octopus!
Not our first dance at Mesa Urbana. We like the freshness of the food and the service. We had the sesame encrusted tuna which was awesome. Sashimi quality!!
Food and service was one of the best I have had in awhile even better than restaurants in the city. Salmon dish & shrimp risotto were both extremely tasty and even my son’s chicken quesadilla was great. Very impressed with the excellent service. Can’t wait to go back again and try more things on the menu.
Food is ok. It's been better on previous visits. Menu a little limited. Service was ok, but a little slow. The main thing this reviewer did not like was the noise level. It was over the top. When you can't hear the server or have a conversation at your table without yelling, there's a problem.
Food was tasty, but too salty for my liking. The pricing seems too high. $19 for veggie tacos?
Being out of the mahi-mahi for tacos was disappointing.
Had a great dinner- Delicious food. Very pleasant wait staff. Wanderfull experibrce. Will definitely be back.
Always consistent and good is sooo good. The Guacamole appetizer comes with sides of celery, cucumbers and beets. Unique and outstanding. You can’t go wrong with any of the entree’s.
Loved the salmon, and everything! It was my birthday, and they made it really special!
Mesa Urbana is an outstanding restaurant with a unique and creative twist to Mexican food. I attended a shower there, though I had been to the restaurant many times, and was served the flautas. They were to die for so I ordered them as my meal at our latest visit. They are crisp, delicious with a topping of avocado. I may never order anything else. I have heard that Moe may open at another location as well. We can only hope.
Every bite of food was great. The octopus appetizer special with eggplant was very good. Good tomatillo salsa with chips. Entree with shrimp and risotto and the other was shrimp with grilled pineapple. Had chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Food portions were good, you will not leave here hungry. Good service, a little expensive, but worth every dime. Visit here whenever you can.
An innovated menu. Many interesting choices. Food tasty and excellently prepared. Good service. Very high noise level. Great for foodies, not so good for a romantic first date.
Food was great - will definitely come back, but felt it was overpriced, especially for the drinks.
Great food, good wine and wonderful service. Really enjoyed the dinner. Will be back . Thank you
been many times. food is consistently good. highly recommend. Quiet time on Monday evening. Good for conversations. Can be noisy on a Saturday nite
The food is outstanding, especially the mussels and quest fondido. My wife had the rock shrimp risotto and I had the fish tacos. The staff are extremely friendly and you are greeted and welcomed in such a way that makes you feel that want your patronage.
Food was Mexican-fusion; different from what I expected but so good! The octopus salad and salmon entree were one of the best I've had in a while but the portion sizes were considerably too small for a meal that costs over $50. The salmon entree didn't come with any side either; so I'd have had to order a side separately for almost $10 additional. I didn't think this restaurant is that upscale for such pricey ala carte menu. I went home and still had to get a snack because of the small portion sizes.
And, the service is kind of questionable. The waiter just set the water pitcher down and left; so I had to pour my own water? Well, I'd understand doing that if I went to a place where the bill wasn't over $50. So, it's unclear what the value proposition was exactly, other than the quite delicious meal!
Mesa Urbana is the kind of place that you wish you could find everyday. Been there several times and the food is always top notch. Great blend of flavors from the cocktails to the guacamole to the entrees. They never disappoint us.
Overrated. The Food was very very salty and definitely overpriced. Would rather have driven into the city to get better Mexican at same or better prices!
Our reservation was for 6:30 on a Friday. Promptly seated as the restaurant was not filled. Ambience was nice and easy to talk. By 7:30 it was filled and very noisy and we were shouting to be heard. Service was excellent and our waiter was attentive. Margaritas wonderful. Would return again but would ask for a table near the window or sit at the bar.
You can’t miss at this place everything is excellent. I always enjoy the salmon here prepared like nowhere else.
Best fish tacos on the planet!!! Food is fabulous!
Food was delicious. Service was good although, I felt we were being rushed at times. The waitstaff and owners are very friendly and welcoming. We would go back.
What a diamond in the middle of the burbs!! I was thoroughly surprised with the food and the general atmosphere which definitely has a Chicago, metro vibe. I had the chicken teriyaki tacos. Fabulous flavors. I would definitely go back.
Shared meal with a friend...food and service was outstanding.
I love this Restaurant! The food is spectacular. The drinks are unique and made from fresh fruit juices. The service is awesome. The vibe is totally cool. The only thing that doesn’t fit with all the positive attributes of this restaurant is it’s location. One just would not think that a restaurant in a strip mall could be so special!
The chef is super creative.
I’ve never had a bad meal. It’s a busy tight place but it’s worth it
Good, very eclectic menu, not that much Mexican as we know it, but actually better.
It’s a very popular, crowded spot. Hope they can enlarge it a bit, not much just to accommodate people waiting and walking to tables. It’s very tight in there.
I love Mesa Urbana. I love the food, the service, and the fact that they really care about their customers.
