Good, very eclectic menu, not that much Mexican as we know it, but actually better.
It’s a very popular, crowded spot. Hope they can enlarge it a bit, not much just to accommodate people waiting and walking to tables. It’s very tight in there.
I love Mesa Urbana. I love the food, the service, and the fact that they really care about their customers.
such a diamond in the rough, this beauty of a restaurant amid a cheesy strip mall. felt like being in the city. the food was so unique and delicious and fresh.
I love it here!! Wonderful and creative food for any palette. It is small but always busy. If you make reservations they honor the time and you never wait. Staff is wonderful and attentive. We had to wait a bit for our drinks but they are all infused by scratch. Food came out timely and the staff was great. I had the salmon which was wonderful. The others had the lamb and the scallops. All was fantastic
Very very good and creative food. Noise level is very very bad. Have to yell to be heard
This was my third visit to Mesa Urbana, and the service is outstanding at every turn. The food and drinks are consistently excellent.
Wonderful as usual. Nicole was our server and Max went the extra mile to serve us!
This was our 3rd visit to Mesa Urbana. Each time we go we enjoy it more! The food and service was wonderful. We went for my birthday during the week and it was quiet and pleasant. On the weekend, it can get very crowded and noisy.
I highly recommend eating there!
Had a wonderful dinner experience. There were 4 of us, tried new dishes which were excellent. The soft shell crab was out of this world. Keep up the excellent service, food.
Tablets&chairs crammed into the space, leaving little room for servers to access diners or for diners to enter or leave. VERY noisy. Meals were not served at the same time for all diners. Had to wait for approx 5 minutes to have everything served.
Drink menu is supposed to be crafted...apparently to justify the price. Cocktails served into pretty glasses full of ice and scant liquid. Menu is limited. Side dishes are overpriced.
Our table could have been turned over for another party 15-20 minutes sooner if the server had been attentive or the kitchen more efficient.
Always loved this place. Food and beverages are spectacular.
Had a reservation for 10, but some couldn’t make it at the last minute. The restaurant was very flexible and we had a great time.
The service could not have been better. They were very attentive. It was my birthday with my family who included a one year old. I was expecting more typical Mexican fare, but that is not what they are about. The guacamole was excellent and the vegetables provided with the appetizer was a very nice touch. The beet salad was not to my liking as the garden variety of lettuce is not what I like in a salad. There was a small amount of beets and watermelon in the salad. The carne asada was good was a bit pricey for the item. The lettuce wrap tacos were ok, but I have had much better at other restaurants and significantly less pricey. The fish tacos looked very good. If you are looking for traditional Mexican this is not your place. If you want a fusion influence then this could be a good fit.
Everyone was extremely friendly, prompt and helpful. The food is amazing.
Excellent food, great service, friendly atmosphere always.
Saturday night meal with friends
Love this restaurant for it's great food, interesting cocktails and comfortable size. I always feel welcome, whether dining for business or pleasure. The menu is "right-priced" and the food is delicious.
Excellent food & service!! Will definitely come back!!
Food is amazing. Overpriced though
Always predictably excellent.
Amazing dinner !! Love this restaurant!! Moe the owner is so nice !
Met a group of six friends for some Mexican food. With a name like Mesa Urbana, I expected your typical Mexican food menu. I was surprised by the spin on the food and the presentation. Mesa Urbana had some great Mexican/Caribbean fusion flavors. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I will be going again.
We waited probably ten minutes for our cocktails, which I thought was very long on a Tuesday night. The restaurant and bar were not crowded- we thought our waitress had forgotten us. After the drinks arrived, we ordered appetizers and then our waitress was more attentive. We all had hoped for a more spicy menu, but the food was tasty and well prepared. Prices were somewhat high for a strip mall restaurant, but everything was fresh and tasty. Would like to see more Latin and Hispanic items.
We celebrated 2 birthdays. Food and service were excellent. Salmon was incredible! Loved everything we ordered and our delicious birthday dessert. We will be back!!!
Our server (Mary Lou?) was fantastic. The food is delicious! 2 scallops is not enough for a dinner portion for $25
This was our first visit here.
We had several drinks and every one of them were fantastic! The restaurant was pretty full which made the noise level a little too loud to carry on a conversation if you weren’t sitting right next to the person. It was uncomfortably hot and saw many people fanning themselves with menus and napkins and wiping sweat from their brows, us included. We ordered a few appetizers which were great but within a few minutes our entrees and sides arrived as well. We had a table full of food and no room to maneuver. Everything we ordered was delicious so it’s a shame we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it in courses.
The staff were all very friendly and fun. Overall we had a good time and we will definitely be back to give it another go.
Fantastic cocktails, terrific chips, wonderful, friendly service by Nicole. Great night out!
We were all disappointed by the price of the food...can get very good mexican fare for much less. And the voice level of music and people was so loud we could not even talk to our friends...we needed to leave quickly. The food and service was good but not for the prices and the drive to a suburban restaurant. I have recommended your place in the past, but I will not longer due to the two main issues.
Had a table near rear of Restaurant and had trouble reading menu...too dark. Restaurant looks like it needs fresh paint and a little revitalization. Empanada too bready...and could have used more filling. Salad had too much dressing. Loved the well-chilled wine... and it was served quickly!
Excellent food and service. The owner checked in with every table, which was impressive. It is pricey though, so you have to be ready for that.
I have dined here at least 6 times. On each and every occasion meal was superb. Service was excellent. Cocktails are innovative and delicious.
This was our first time at Mesa Urbana, and the food is very good. We will definitely return.
Excellent Food and Service. Not a traditional Mexican restaurant. All the food selections were delicious and this place will not disappoint the most discriminating eater.
We always love Mesa's food - especially the salmon!! Just wish it wasn't so noisy - hard to have a conversation!!
Consistent high quality of food.
Once again, fantastic food and service at Mesa Urbana. Our server Louanne was the best we’ve ever had. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, just wish it weren’t so loud!
Loved the food!
I’ll start with the good: the salmon was delicious. And the mango and papaya salad served with it was even better. The okay: the shrimp entree was fairly tasty but had only 3 shrimp. The not so good: the ceviche sampler was not only bland but was 90 percent salsa— almost no fish or shrimp in any of the three ceviches. Add to this teeny tiny wine pours and we decided we wouldn’t refuse to go back if friends pushed us, but we wouldn’t choose to return our own.
The empanadas tasted stale and the restaurant ran out of their tortilla soup special an hour after opening the restaurant for dinner with only a quarter of the restaurant filled! The waiter didn’t care that the special had run out and no one really bothered to come by and ask how we liked our food. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, not for the meal and definitely not for the overpriced, average items! Very disappointing.
First time to eat here. The food was terrific ,our waiter was fun. A great evening!!!!
