Fabulous margaritas & mojitos! Carne Asada and Salmon were delicious!!! Guacamole was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!
Food was excellent. Service was good and no one rushed us, which we appreciated. Only complaint would be that it is loud, making it hard to hear your companions.
It was horrible. We waited 15 minutes for our guacamole appetizer which they served at the same time as our lukewarm entree which was undercooked. Noisy, obnoxious and overpriced. I wanted to give 0 stars. Never going again.
Great food and fun vibe ! I’ve eaten here at least four times and it’s always consistent the food is delicious very fresh and unique. I love the guacamole presentation!
Food and service was good. Place is loud and cramped.
Salmon was outstanding. Not at all what you would expect! A one of a kind gem that is worth the visit. Make reservations and enjoy!!
Absolutely delicious food including frittata, salmon and carne with upscale prep and presentation. Warm salsa verse always a bonus!
Great place. Wonderful food, great service and terrific owners.
Our server was amazing and the food was incredible. Spicy margaritas were so delicious!!
Delicious food and great customer service!
I’ve dined there 3 or 4 times. I brought 3 new people and they were blown away. Fabulous upscale Mexican fusion. Just wish is wasn’t an hours drive for us , but we’ll be back.
Love this place! Each dish is better than the next… Especially the guacamole platter!
A very pleasant experience. We were a Vegan group of 5, and we were very well accommodated to customize our meals, though they already have some veg options. Very attentive staff. Great margaritas. Not a large place, but they handle it well and keep it flowing. Fun bar area.
Great food, great drinks, great service and a high energy vibe. Loved it!
So, fair warning, Fridays and Saturdays are very very busy, on account of this is the sort of city restaurant that suburbanites dream about having closer to home. And when it's crowded, it's somewhat loud.
But we went there for the eclectic menu and it did not disappoint. Each of us loved our dishes and drinks and raved over the shared appetizers. As a Latin fusion restaurant, they specialize in atypical riffs on conventional Latin cuisine. Everything was delicious, the owner came over several times and was very charming, and the service was wonderful. We look forward to going back on a weekday.
s always the food was great (love the salmon!) and the friendliness and service a huge bonus to the experience
It was our first time at this restaurant, we really enjoyed the food and the service was great. We were happy to know that there is also a childrens' menu.
We have been here several times, but I think it is getting even better. My salmon was delicious and others at our table said the Carne Asada was cooked perfect and fantastic flavors. If you like dessert, try the bread pudding!!! One of the best.
Dinner & drinks were fabulous as was the service. Noise level was manageable because it was a Tuesday night. Love the restaurant! Would highly highly recommend it
Great meal as usual! Food & drinks were delicious. Only complaint is the noise level
This was our first visit and we will be back. The food was excellent! However, the noise level unfortunately was extremely loud (full restaurant on Saturday night). We could hardly hear our own conversation. I wouldn't recommend for a first date or a quiet night out due to the noise level but definitely a lively, fun place with excellent food and service.
Very noisy and hard to have a conversation. Food was average. It should have been a lot better for the prices charged. Our waiter was great and very attentive. Cocktails were really good.
Great place. Food is delicious and unusual and well worth the price
This place is great
Wait even though we had a reservation. Very crowded and very noisy.
I have been going to Mesa Urbana for years and it never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Love everything on menu, Lamb, fish, tacos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+++. They knock the ball out of the park. ENJOY! Thank you Moe for another GREAT evening!
This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised with it. Food was unique and delicious. Servers definitely didn’t rush us...may not be the best place for a quick meal.
This is by far the best restaurant in the area and well worth your drive. Everything here is wonderful and do not by any means think this is Mexican food, it is far from it yet it is available.
Amazing ambiance. Downside: we waited for an hour for the table despite the fact that we had a rezervation. It was extremely busy. Staff was very nice though and gave us a free round of drinks and an appetizer for the inconvenience. Also, we ordered a couple of more rounds of drinks after being seated but each round was brought late. Food was quickly brought to the table though. Pro: close to home, amazing drinks and food.
My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary with a great meal here. She had the shrimp and I had the lamb. Both were excellently prepared and presented. We started with the red sangria, which was terrific... with an interesting peach flavor. The chips and guacamole were also excellent. The server was very friendly and helpful. The food came out fast. This is a very popular place, so the tables are close together and noisy, but we could carry on a conversation without problems. Overall a very enjoyable experience with great food.
I was searching for a new Mexican restaurant in Glenview and found this gem without having to drive into Chicago! We had a 6:00 reservation for a party of 4 on a Saturday night and got seated right away even though they were very busy. The server was great at explaining the Mexican fusion menu and specials. I started with a hand-crafted hefe margarita which was made with grapefruit juice and it was fabulous! The complimentary hot tortilla chips and verde salsa were excellent as we were drinking our cocktails. Our table ordered the guacamole with cucumber slices, yellow beets and pickled white radishes and that was a great starter, though I wish there had been more veggies for dipping. Our other appetizer was the fried calamari which was cooked to perfection and the mango chili sauce was a nice dipping sauce. I chose the salmon as my main entree which was moist and delicious sitting atop caramelized green papaya and avocado purée. The flavors really did fuse together nicely and it was truly yummy!! We ended our meal by sharing one hot chocolate lava cake which was comped by the owner who stopped by checking our dining experience. That was a nice personal touch at this fun trendy restaurant!
We got out the door for $96 for two of us splitting the bill—a bit spendy for 2 entrees, 1 appetizer, and 2 margaritas. However, compared to regular Mexican food it was well worth the higher price for the uniqueness of the Mexican fusion cuisine!! We will definitely be back to Mesa Urbana!!
Love the vibe. The food is delicious .
The best Margarita we’ve had in along time. The entrees have unique twists to traditional dishes which are delicious.
The place is packed like an airport departure gate before boarding. Food is mediocre. Maybe we expected too much based on the rating, so it was a bigger disappointment than it would be if we did no prior research. In any case, we won’t return.
-no espresso machine (only drip coffee)
-no hot sauce, only hot salsa
We love this rest we found it about 6 months ago and have gone back 6 times already. Love the food best sangria. Great service even though they are busy you don’t feel rushed.
Phenomenal service and amazing food. I give it the highest rating.
The salmon is my favorite , scallops are good but only got 2 , good size but should be at least 3 . The food is very good , I would absolutely recommend
delicious food, not your typical mexican restaurant. pretty expensive. food items were so creative, i felt like i was on an episode of "chopped"
