Love it. Will keep going back
Great place for first and continuous dates. Loved the patio and live music. Defenitely coming back.
Everyone had a great time, food and drinks were great
The wife and I loved the food! The ambiance was just perfect. Attentive staff!
I would put this restaurant as the best in El Paso. Number one restaurant in my opinion. I would put their food against anyone’s. Their steaks were amazing. Service was high class. When we were served our food, a older gentleman came to our table to set the silverware for my wife and place her napkin in her lap. Great dining experience for us.
The food was just OK. My expectation was for fine dining and the quality just seemed off. Maybe Monday night is not a great choice.
The lamb was very bland with very small portions. I understand that’s what fine dining is but it wasn’t good in the first place. The wait Thomas was terrible and hardly came to the table. It even took him a while just to acknowledge us. Definitely will never go again and better off going to Ruth Chris.
Waitress was very quick to leave the table before we finished ordering. Asked for standard table and got a high table next to the bar where the noise was kind of loud.
Although I think the quality of the food was over priced, It was a nice place for dinner.
The steak was cooked as ordered and had a nice charred crust. Mushrooms as a side had very good flavor. Chocolate cake was also delicious and plenty to share. Good wine selection and Richards wine knowledge and recommendations were perfect.
I always feel like they can do better, but there is a deep problem here.
The hostess was pleasant.
The waiter was not friendly but not rude, just indifferent, like you don’t matter.
The lobster was dry and my medium rare steak was actually done medium well. The cut of beef was not a better piece anyway. Very disappointing.
I talked up this place to keep the group excited, but I think the other 10 people in my group had the same lousy food experience. I felt bad about it.
Every 3-4 years, I come back here for a special occasion.
It’s the same way every time. The only way this place will work as a restaurant is to really invest in hiring and training great staff. And drop the pretentious attitude. It leaves a sour taste on the palate a long time.
We have several good options now for ‘special occasion’ dinners.
This place can remain a cigar bar..
It was our first Valentine's together and first time at the restaurant. Everything was great and the patio area was perfect setting.
We went to the Mesa St. Grill for Valentine's Day. Walking in the door, they had a large "LOVE" light display in the lobby to mark the day. It was extremely bright - almost blinding. A little less wattage would have been better. A good idea, poorly executed.
When we were shown to our table, the hostess give my wife a rose. She really appreciated the rose - she brought it back to the hotel room and all the way back to our home in Maryland! But - again, small detail - the rose still had the thorns on the stem. So her first task upon receiving the rose was to pry the thorns off with her fingernails.
The food was very good. I had the Southwest escargot - an interesting southwest cream dressing on the snails. My wife had an interesting salad and the salmon, which was fresh and good. I had the pork chop, which was very nice.
Pricey! Two appetizers, two entrees, 3 glasses of the less expensive wines and a cocktail came to $200. I was surprised to pay that kind of money for a good - not great - meal in El Paso. But the waitress and the rest of the staff was very friendly, so all in all it was a very nice Valentine's Day for us.
I’d give this restaurant a 4 out of 5. The waiter was very attentive and nice. The food was good except the chocolate cake we had for dessert. It was too thick and cold. One downside would be that the music did not fit the vibe of the restaurant.
They treated us like family and the food was excellent.
Mesa street grill never disappoints! I love this place. Food is amazing, staff is even better.
Excellent service + meal (lamb) and wine (Smith & Hook) with chocolate dessert.. ottimo ‼️
Great service and delicious food. Thank you !
Good food, very quiet and private setting.
The food was amazing! Steals cook to perfection, great wine selection, and superb service! We had a fantastic night out!
Great service by Tristan as we were challenged with extensive wait times over 50 mins for meal production due to some sort of large event in restaurant
In the end we did have
Bad price point for the food that you actually receive. There's other restaurant's in the area with way better food for a way better price (Saltgrass) . There are other fine dining options where you actually receive the value for the price (Cafe Central) . It seems as though they charge you to be in a "fancy" atmosphere and it can be quite uncomfortable . Also service is almost non-existent . Couldn't even tell you the servers name , he was awkward like , and didn't make us feel welcomed . Definitely would not recommend .
Despite having a reservation it took an hour to assign a table, the manager did nothing to solve the problem, after an hour they gave us a table of 4 people even though the reservation was for 6, it would seem that they were going to give us the dinner free! Obviously not. It is a very expensive place for the offered. If they do not have the capacity of greater capacity, they should not make reservations. They should have more organization.
New Year's dinner/celebration was amazing here. Food was delicious, service was awesome. Masquerade ball was a bonus to an already amazing evening with dancers/performers.
Our group of 4 had a very nice time. Drinks and food were great, as was the service. This was about our 6th time going there. Stays pretty consistent.
Food was very tasty. The service was not good, took very long to get our food and they were unable to get our check right after 3 attempts, kept getting overcharged for some items. It seemed as they were all new.
We had a very nice business dinner for 7. The entrees were fabulous, appetizers were great. We had a nice semi-quiet corner to chat, which was great. We might've preferred to sit "outside" but it was just a little too smoky for us.
First time there, the good and atmosphere was wonderful!!
The three of us ordered steaks. The menu is pricey but boasts "prime" beef. Two of our steaks were perfection, tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I would have given more stars except that one of our steaks was under cooked and was not prime - or at least not a good cut from prime. It was tough, stringy, and had to saw with the knife for each bite. We asked for the manager who came and took the complaint. He handled it like a pro: offered another steak or to remove it from the bill, and comp'd a dessert which we appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this restaurant and I highly recommend it.
We had a great time. Richard our waiter was outstanding. His recommendations for our dining was on point. The whole experience was wonderful. We'll bw back again!
As always, Carlos, took great care of us. Food was delicious
I took my parents to Mesa Street Bar and Grill as a treat, and the food and service was wonderful! The only hiccup was in my dad’s seafood ravioli: there was a small rock or very hard part of a shell that he bit and hurt his mouth. However, all the other plates were delicious, and the desserts were amazing, too! This is a great place to go to enjoy a nice meal.
Ask for Richard to wait on your table. Very knowledgeable of wines and food.
The food, overall service, and atmosphere was terrific. I say overall service as we received more service and attention, just enough at the right time, from services other than our main server.
Perhaps Mesa Street Grill’s policy is all tips are divided equally across all servers. I hope so as the overall service was great.
We were seated after a small delay as they figured out where other reservations needed to go. We had booked reservation for outside but upon arrival they indicated there was a party booked for all of the outside area so we were placed in main dining area. Service started strong with a glass of wine ordered and entrees but after a larger party arrived we were no longer checked on and had to flag waiter down each time we needed something. The waiter was very friendly but just a bit overwhelmed. However, gave four stars overall because the food was very good, a bit surprisingly so given reviews on steaks were mixed. Husband got the ribeye and not only was the meat high quality, cut with a fork type but it was juicy and flavorful. I got the sea bass which was made perfectly and well balanced with the spinach and sauce. For sides, we loved the green chili casserole and the brussels where okay (would have preferred more charred). My husband finished dinner with the banana foster which he eagerly ate saying it was delicious. Also, ambience at restaurant was nice, good people watching and a pleasant experience. When back to El Paso we’ll put on our dinner rotation.
Aside from the delightful ambiance, the wait staff was quick and attentive. Food was delicious and my company was impressed with the new digs. Thanks a million, and until next time; Cheers and Ciao!
A little disappointed. Service was great so no issues there. Food was ok. We had Jala Mari for appetizer and that was good. Pork and tuna we're pretty middle-of-the-road, not horrible but not great. We may or may not go back.
Our experience was excellent. The only cloud on the evening is when I forgot to ask about smoking allowed in the patio outside. Imagine my surprise when the guests in the next table lit up cigarettes and cigars. Being a non-smoker, we had to ask to be moved away from them, which worked for a while. When the new guests at the adjoining table started smoking, we left.
Your wait staff was excellent and accommodating, your food was superb. We will be back, but may not go outside.
We made a reservation in the am for 6:30pm for the patio..
We got there and were told that the patio was closed due to an event.. that we could be seated inside but that service was slow and that the kitchen was on hold. We we also told that we were going to get bad service. Nevertheless we left as did other people that were waiting to be seated. No use in making reservation.. no one even called or emailed or anything to let us know that our reservation was not going to be respected. Horrible service.
