The food was amazing! Steals cook to perfection, great wine selection, and superb service! We had a fantastic night out!
Great service by Tristan as we were challenged with extensive wait times over 50 mins for meal production due to some sort of large event in restaurant
In the end we did have
Bad price point for the food that you actually receive. There's other restaurant's in the area with way better food for a way better price (Saltgrass) . There are other fine dining options where you actually receive the value for the price (Cafe Central) . It seems as though they charge you to be in a "fancy" atmosphere and it can be quite uncomfortable . Also service is almost non-existent . Couldn't even tell you the servers name , he was awkward like , and didn't make us feel welcomed . Definitely would not recommend .
Despite having a reservation it took an hour to assign a table, the manager did nothing to solve the problem, after an hour they gave us a table of 4 people even though the reservation was for 6, it would seem that they were going to give us the dinner free! Obviously not. It is a very expensive place for the offered. If they do not have the capacity of greater capacity, they should not make reservations. They should have more organization.
New Year's dinner/celebration was amazing here. Food was delicious, service was awesome. Masquerade ball was a bonus to an already amazing evening with dancers/performers.
Our group of 4 had a very nice time. Drinks and food were great, as was the service. This was about our 6th time going there. Stays pretty consistent.
Food was very tasty. The service was not good, took very long to get our food and they were unable to get our check right after 3 attempts, kept getting overcharged for some items. It seemed as they were all new.
We had a very nice business dinner for 7. The entrees were fabulous, appetizers were great. We had a nice semi-quiet corner to chat, which was great. We might've preferred to sit "outside" but it was just a little too smoky for us.
First time there, the good and atmosphere was wonderful!!
The three of us ordered steaks. The menu is pricey but boasts "prime" beef. Two of our steaks were perfection, tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I would have given more stars except that one of our steaks was under cooked and was not prime - or at least not a good cut from prime. It was tough, stringy, and had to saw with the knife for each bite. We asked for the manager who came and took the complaint. He handled it like a pro: offered another steak or to remove it from the bill, and comp'd a dessert which we appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this restaurant and I highly recommend it.
We had a great time. Richard our waiter was outstanding. His recommendations for our dining was on point. The whole experience was wonderful. We'll bw back again!
As always, Carlos, took great care of us. Food was delicious
I took my parents to Mesa Street Bar and Grill as a treat, and the food and service was wonderful! The only hiccup was in my dad’s seafood ravioli: there was a small rock or very hard part of a shell that he bit and hurt his mouth. However, all the other plates were delicious, and the desserts were amazing, too! This is a great place to go to enjoy a nice meal.
Ask for Richard to wait on your table. Very knowledgeable of wines and food.
The food, overall service, and atmosphere was terrific. I say overall service as we received more service and attention, just enough at the right time, from services other than our main server.
Perhaps Mesa Street Grill’s policy is all tips are divided equally across all servers. I hope so as the overall service was great.
We were seated after a small delay as they figured out where other reservations needed to go. We had booked reservation for outside but upon arrival they indicated there was a party booked for all of the outside area so we were placed in main dining area. Service started strong with a glass of wine ordered and entrees but after a larger party arrived we were no longer checked on and had to flag waiter down each time we needed something. The waiter was very friendly but just a bit overwhelmed. However, gave four stars overall because the food was very good, a bit surprisingly so given reviews on steaks were mixed. Husband got the ribeye and not only was the meat high quality, cut with a fork type but it was juicy and flavorful. I got the sea bass which was made perfectly and well balanced with the spinach and sauce. For sides, we loved the green chili casserole and the brussels where okay (would have preferred more charred). My husband finished dinner with the banana foster which he eagerly ate saying it was delicious. Also, ambience at restaurant was nice, good people watching and a pleasant experience. When back to El Paso we’ll put on our dinner rotation.
Aside from the delightful ambiance, the wait staff was quick and attentive. Food was delicious and my company was impressed with the new digs. Thanks a million, and until next time; Cheers and Ciao!
A little disappointed. Service was great so no issues there. Food was ok. We had Jala Mari for appetizer and that was good. Pork and tuna we're pretty middle-of-the-road, not horrible but not great. We may or may not go back.
Our experience was excellent. The only cloud on the evening is when I forgot to ask about smoking allowed in the patio outside. Imagine my surprise when the guests in the next table lit up cigarettes and cigars. Being a non-smoker, we had to ask to be moved away from them, which worked for a while. When the new guests at the adjoining table started smoking, we left.
Your wait staff was excellent and accommodating, your food was superb. We will be back, but may not go outside.
We made a reservation in the am for 6:30pm for the patio..
We got there and were told that the patio was closed due to an event.. that we could be seated inside but that service was slow and that the kitchen was on hold. We we also told that we were going to get bad service. Nevertheless we left as did other people that were waiting to be seated. No use in making reservation.. no one even called or emailed or anything to let us know that our reservation was not going to be respected. Horrible service.
Extremely bad managed, understaffed Ann unprepared to serve guests. Nobody there to apologize for 1:30hr waiting for our food and nobody told us they had not even started to prepare it. We paid our drinks and left, no manager on duty, all servers were frustrated and overwhelmed, the place was not even full.
Expected more food options. Busy night, service was great.
Great restaurant! You have to go there youself to experience the good food and ambiance.
We went for an anniversary dinner thinking it would be an elegant experience. The waiter was excellent but the ambiance was disappointing and loud. A bread basket would have been nice, menus were soiled and needed to be replaced, and the food was just OK.
It wasn't the best meal we've had at the Mesa Grill, but overall it was good. The crab cake appetizer was very good as were the rib eye tacos and pork chop. The lobster mac and cheese side didn't shoe up until we had finished the meal because the first one was forgotten and burned. They took it off the tab.
I used to love this place but food quality has deteriorated. The beet salad had almost no flavor. The steaks were all charred. The steak soup was too salty. The food was average at best. The portions small (more garnish than calamari) and the prices too high ($300 for 4). I’m not sure if it was customers or workers very loud at the bar. Otherwise the atmosphere is nice. I just wish they put more effort into being good than looking good.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable exsperance, the staff was very pleasant the food was 5 stars.
We had such awesome dinner on Sunday that we came back with family on Monday. Our server Richard was awesome on Monday! The food however was not as good as Sunday. We order the same appetizers and the smoked salmon wasn't the same as Sunday it didn't have the cream cheese spread on it at Sunday. The chicken dish that was ordered was over cooked and dry. The lobster mac and cheese was very dry. Very disappointed in the food quality in general. Just don't think I will eat there on a Monday or Tuesday. I figure the head chef must be off those days.
The food was good but definitely expected better for the price.
Lamb request was for medium but was very over done and over seasoned.
Chilean Sea Bass very good but should be served over rice with the sauce.
Very attentive service, great ambiance. Manhattan cocktail was well crafted. Wife’s sea bass was delicious, as were the creamed spinach and Brussels sprouts. My NY strip, on the other hand, while cooked and seasoned well, was very tough and chewy, obviously not a prime cut of beef nor worth the $41 it cost (steak only, no sides)! Very disappointing. The flourless chocolate torte was devine, but couldn’t redeem the poor quality steak, thus resulting in an overall 3-star experience.
Not a good restaurant for a vegan
You can find vegan choices all over the US but in El Paso
Waiters were professional, friendly and respectful. Prefect atmosphere for all occasions. Thank you Mesa Street Grill Team for a nice time!
Excellent service and wonderful food. The wait staff is very polite and professional. It is a little pricey, but the quality is top notch.
Hello. This was our second visit to Mesa Street Grill. Overall, we had a pleasurable experience and the food was delicious.
Our only disappointment was due to a poor assumption. I scheduled the reservation for my wife's birthday and when calling to follow-up to the online reservation, my name and phone number was immediately recognized. Everything prior to arrival was very personable where we received excellent treatment.
Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us, asked and mentioned "Happy Birthday" to my wife, and then mentioned we have special night for you.
Unfortunately, everything after was just a casual night. I believe we up lived the personable treatment and were simply surprised as service was timely, then delayed. The personable treatment stayed with hostess and the rest of the night, we were two people ordering dinner and eating.
Again, the food was phenomenal and the experience was quiet/romantic. We would definitely recommend the dining experience to friends. As for "special" anniversary or birthday...we don't know if there's something special that you do for guest as we didn't recognize anything else. (not reference singing...but if you're looking for some examples, we've received more private sitting, light decorative confetti on the table, and a small plate that simply stated "Happy Birthday" in Chocolate frost/syrup before).
Thank you. Steve Donahue
The shrimp tacos were the best!!!!
LOVE this place! Would highly recommend for its amazing food and first class service. The dining area is beautiful and the outside patio is always great with live music on Saturdays. Been dining here for years and it never disappoints. My husband, kids and I recently celebrated an early Mothers Day dinner with my in-laws and it was perfect. My in-laws were very happy, we couldn't have picked a better place for our celebration.
Too expensive for the quality of food. Other Places in El Paso such as Gusto, have better stakes at a lower price. I had a New York Strip Stake was tough and grisly. Service was very good. I have eaten at this restaurant before, and always had a very good experience. Hopefully this was just a one time experience.
