Merrywell - Crown Melbourne
Boasting a cocktail list to rival the best bars in Melbourne, with noval jugs of sangria and The Merrywell's housemade punch. Perfect for after work drinks or a celebration on the terrace.
4 of us went for an early dinner prior to attending a show at The Palms. Menu is not huge but each of us found a few things on the menu that we could choose. Staff were attentive and the happy hour (5-8pm) options were good.
Date night with my husband began at Merrywell. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Very happy to return.
We were out for a girls dinner and the waiters were all attentive and looked after us throughout the evening
The food was amazing and catered to our needs and we ended up staying all night once the music came on
Would recommend to others and will be back
Excellent food and service! Will be back for sure
Live music was great too
An excellent level of service by the staff from the time we entered to when we left. The table wait service was exemplary. The order meal was delivered very efficiently and the presentation and quality of the food was first class.
Merrywell has a great ambience and vibe when you walk in....until you are ignored by the staff and kept waiting to be shown to table. The experience could be better enhanced if the service was warm, welcoming and friendly. Instead I was left with the feeling that they couldn't really give a toss either way....
Food was great and convenient location.
No one in attendance to seat or greet us?, we wandered around with no one at the door and got a rude sigh from waiter who walked us back to the entrance to make a big deal of getting some menus... even though there was some where we met her in the restaurant, service was ok but they were too rushed trying to get people out and the food was almost thrown at us on the table , no care at all!
The food was top quality, reasonable value for money and the staff friendly. Overall a lovely intimate meeting place for friends
We attended to our reservation & were quickly seated outside, we asked if we could sit inside & were told no because there was no tables left inside (plenty of free tablets but none just for two people) & told we could eat at the bar. We were seated under a broken heater which didn’t work & were told they had asked maintenance to fix it several times. We ordered our drinks & within minutes I was shivering so we left after being told once again there was no other seats for us.
Amazing steak amazing burgers absolutely fantastic we will definitely return
Great views out on the Terrace and small but good choice on menu.
Would have liked a freestanding heater to compliment the wall radiators however we could have asked to be moved inside I guess.
Greetings on arrival and departure were very friendly however waitress was just Ok.
Wow. What a fantastic place to eat. If I could have given an 11 it would have been for value. The price we paid for this type of meal rivals some pub bistros, yet the quality was better than sensational. We’ll definitely be back for another visit or 10 :)
We had a lovely dinner here with our two kids (aged 2 and 4). We then sat out on the terrace area and watched the crown flame towers with a drink before heading home. Great live music also. Wonderful!
Great venue and atmosphere for our small family celebration with a beautiful view of the city, food was really good and service was great 👍
We were very disappointed with the experience at the restaurant, the food being the most disappointing. The Starters were ok but the Mains were the worst. We had the Pork Chops with the sauce which was so salty and the caramelised apple was sparingly placed, the steak and chips was nothing that special either probably get better at a Pub. The plating was not very appealing as well. Seeing what we got made us not want to order dessert.
This is only constructive criticism, we really expected better standards from Crown.
Very attentive service
Bottomless Lunch was ideal & great value for money.
The menu for the bottom less lunch was ok but could have more dessert options.
Was surprised that I was charged a public holiday rate when this wasn’t brought to my attention at all. Not until I looked at my receipt on the car did I notice an additional cost.
Good happy hour specials and vibe
We had the 'Bottomless Bruch'. The prosecco and Pimms jugs were beautifully presented and just as tasty. The food was lovely and the service prompt, friendly and the staff engaging.
Bottomless brunch, $60 per person. We were a group of 8 celebrating a Birthday. In the two hours allotted to our Group for bottomless brunch we were served a grand total of 4 (small) drinks. After being ignored on several occasions by the service staff who cleaarly saw our empty plates needed clearing and drinks refilled we went up on 5 separate occasions to remind them we needed service. They then proceeded to take 20 minutes to do this. Rude staff and AWFUL service
Need more vegetarian options on the menu - the only one vegetarian main that I could order was a little disappointing. The falafels were really dry and hard - not much flavour.
Loved happy hour though and service was great!
my scotch fillet steak with chips was delicious. the steak was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cook and the pepper sauce was devine. my partner loved her lamb dish. dessert for me was a delicious chocolate brownie with amazing vanilla icecream. my partners salted caramel ice cream slice with decadent chocolate topping was devine. thanks merrywell a fantastic night all round :)
service was quick, friendly and not pushy.
food was tasty and the burger amazing.
Friendly service. Great food
Service was awful. Slow and non attentive. Music was too loud for the space. Very delayed food delivery!
Dinner and service were much better than last time. Live music was too loud. When you have to shout at your table guess at dinner it takes away from the moment.
Chose the Merrywell as my cousin is not very adventurous when it comes to trying different good and cuisine.
As we were there a Wednesday night it wasn't busy. The service was good but not exceptional.
We ordered the beef redang spring rolls. These are an acquired taste and for everyone. We then shared the souvlaki. Must say I had better at the local souvlaki shop. Really nothing to rave about. We shared the mango mini Pac, my cousin said the best thing about it was the flaky nuts.
We were dining as a couple and were sat next to a bucks party when there were plenty of other places to be seated.
Christmas lunch for 2. Started out reasonably well. Lamb a bit fatty but OK. Passion fruit sorbet on dessert tasted like the oyster starter, like sea water. Discretely told the waiter who told the matire d. We are then ignored for over an hour. Didn't even get the petit fours that should have been included. Overall really disappointing for $120pp plus drinks. So sad. I was hoping it would be a great day but it was ruined by ultimately really poor customer care.
Had our Christmas Lunsch, staff were wonderful, meal exceptional, lovely ambience, only issue was air conditioners set so cold.
Went for Xmas lunch with a set menu. I would have to comment that our waitress was either new or still needed training. All three courses were made for sharing which was fine but please change plates in between courses. The food and presentation was very professional. The ambience, not very Xmassy at all and when arriving there seemed to be some concern about bookings.
Great food and service. Lovely atmosphere. Yum
I felt the staff were not welcoming enough and did not ask us what package we had. Need to smile more.
Great place to enjoy lunch and a few drinks
Friendly atmosphere on waterfront location. Will come back
Extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. We only ordered a couple of starters to share (chips & calamari) which took over half an hour to arrive and came out seperate too. The calamari was coated in such a thick flour like batter that you couldn’t taste anything but flour.
We have been to Merrywell at least 20 times and this is by far the worst experience.
great food, but oh so noisy.....in house music was so loud, everybody in our section was shouting, which made talking to my wife impossible.....why don't you have a 'quiet section' for people who wish to converse with each other - last time I checked Merrywell wasn't a nightclub.
