The food was good and the experience was excellent.
Don’t get the cheese curds! The chicken that was a $5 addition on my salad was broiled and not seasoned. It was just a very odd experience. We have a little kid and the restaurant was half empty and they led us to a high top table near the back. The hostess kind of just pointed to the table and didn’t walk us there. This place used to be a club and the feel of the atmosphere and staff is still pretty similar. Maybe a good place for a drink.
It was great! We were celebrating a surprise engagement brunch. All the staff was welcoming and helpful. Dave our server was exceptional and very professional. Food was remarkable! Wouldn’t have changed a thing! Thank you!
Good food and excellent service. Great place to eat outdoors for dinner.
Upon arrival at 5, we were the only customers (party of 2). Ordered drinks. Ordered an appetizer. Ordered a burger to share. We were not even 1/2 done with the appetizer when our burger was brought out. Why the rush. Appetizer was Brussel sprouts. Though flavor was great they were under cooked. Burger and fries were very good. Doubt we will return.
We ate at the bar and the service from all was excellent. The food and atmosphere were great as well. We came back the next day - the bar team remembered us, what we ate and drank - that is exceptional service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
looking to hold an a family event and it sounds too noisy unless it is a separated area. Love the food ...fresh and tasty.
No one came to serve us for about 10minutes. Workers would look at our table when they walked by and still said nothing. I had to reach out to ask for a server. Once we finally got service we had about 3 different people at our table none of which gave good service and still forgot things we ordered. Felt like they messed up by taking so long to get to us and then they wanted to avoid our table instead of making it right.
Was back here for the first time post-pandemic, and similar to before, it didn't disappoint! The menu seemed more scaled back from what I recall, but that was totally understandable. We weren't sure what to expect from a service perspective given how short-staffed places are, but we had no issues - service was great! Food was also very good. Only suggestion would be to not open the large garage doors if it is very hot outside. Our table was inside next to the doors and it was very comfortable inside when they were closed. Toward the end of the meal, they opened them up and the hot air (was probably still in the 80's) came rushing in. We had commented that our experience would not have been that enjoyable if it had been that warm near our table for the entire meal.
First time visiting Milwaukee and we were looking for an good burger/sandwich place and Merriment did not disappoint! We read very good reviews so we gave this a shot. Excellent across the board. The appetizers (brussel sprouts and eggroll apps) were really good and served hot. Dinners were a braised shortrib sandwich and a cheeseburger which exceeded our expectations. The fries that came with them were also perfect. Cool place, with a cool vibe and excellent service.
A great location and great food and drinks!
Delicious! Fried chicken is up there with some of the best I’ve had and the Brussels sprouts appetizer is out of this world
We had a party of 4, reservations and were seated right away. Had “Aunt Barb’s hot crab dip” for an appetizer and it was “not hot”. It was Luke warm at best. Entrees were the French dip, hamburger and avocado bowl. Food was moderately warm, fries cold and service overall was slow. The restaurant was fairly full and quite loud with the cement floors and high ceilings. I wil try it again where the doors are open and the warmer weather permits outdoor seating.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Delicious food, wonderful service (We had David who was great), and very nice vibe inside. Will be returning.
We love Merriment Social! Always great food, drinks and service! Our favorite when we come to Milwaukee.
The cheese curds are a must try here, I had the fish tacos and those were good, but would've loved to see a more healthy-ish dish on the menu. I also had the sangria which packs a punch. Overall good service and ambient.
Great place for a group of 15 at brunch!
Food and service was awesome
My wife and I went for dinner. Great food, fun place. We had the burgers and monte cristo egg rolls for app. Very good.
Food was delicious. Felt a little rushed with service but it was good. There are fans in the ceiling that were on and made it particularly cold. We asked to lower the fans and they did but it was still chilly. Also, it is very noisy because of high ceilings. Would try the restaurant again because the food was great. Will ask to slow down the delivery of food.
Great atmosphere, food selections were unique and tasty. The bottomless mimosa package was affordable as well. Service was top tier.
Delish-and great service -we will be back.
We have been to a Mother’s Day brunch here for the last 5-6 years. (Except last, ofc). Great food. Great service.
Incredibly noisy. We were shouting across the table. Our waiter was great and enthusiastic.
The Pud Thai dish 3 of us had was very dry and we requested extra sauce. The brussel sprouts were excellent.
Portions were generous. A bit disappointed in the white wine list.
Pros: Vibe of the space is super cool and trendy. Would be great place to go and grab drinks on a weekend with friends.
Cons: There were a few speed bumps with our food. Long wait time and waitress didn't really come back to check on us between dropping off our drinks and when the runner brought out food. We ended up canceling the appetizer because our waitress forgot to put the order in and then our entrees arrived. My plate of tacos and rice was cold. The waitress was apologetic and got me a fresh, hot tacos. She also gave us free slushy shots because of the appetizer. She also surprised us later with a free slice of ice cream cake for the hassle. I would definitely give it a second shot for drinks maybe, but the pricing of the food is a little high in my opinion for what we got. The tacos and burger were good, but didn't blow me away where I felt it was justified to spend $19 for three average tacos and basic rice.
Great burgers and fun drinks!
I can't say enough about our first experience at Merriment Social. The food, drinks, everything was just amazing!
Our server Carly was so perky and energetic and interacted with us throughout our entire dinner. She really made the entire experience even better! Can't wait to come back and see Carly again!
We've been to Merriment Social a few times and every time has been excellent. The food, service and atmosphere are great.
Great food in a space with lots of circulation and lots of light.
Super fun place with really good drinks. The appetizers we had were amazing and the fried chicken entree was just ok. Overall good time!
Good atmosphere, good food.
Keegan was great! He was on top of it with the large group we had. He even made the birthday special with dessert and a candle. Great food and atmosphere!
The pad Thai is basically buttered noodles, no flavor. Salmon carpaccio was very good. Cocktails are excellent.
The food was nothing special for what you’re paying. Menu was very limited and the drinks were small (albeit boozy). Ambiance was kinda nice but mediocre.
Undortunately the service was terrible. Only 3 tables seated when we went and we waited over an hour for food. Drinks never refreshed. I had been here before once and if was good. This visit was terrible. Would not go back
Overpriced midday menu (seriously, why is an avocado salad $16?! - romaine, avocado, and charred broccoli - $16). Service was incredibly slow and impersonal.
This is my second time here and I am not disappointed! It was a wonderful dinner. We enjoyed every bit of it! We had the Gulf Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, Cauliflower Pad Thai, and Avocado Bowl and there were delicious! I would definitely recommend Merriment Social for small or large gatherings!
Appetizers and entrees we ordered were all excellent. Very happy with the food. Service was pretty poor, however. After we were seated, our waitress didn’t approach our table for 10 minutes. Actually considered getting up and leaving. Every time waitress came to our table, which was seldom and far apart, she was in such a rush, she was at the table for a very short time and rushed off before we could finish talking to her or asking questions. Felt as if we were a bother to her and that she would rather we weren’t there. Also, I would recommend not asking at time of reservation if there is a special occasion, if nobody at the restaurant is going to acknowledge the special occasion while you are there.
Our server Dylan was outstanding and super friendly, he made our first experience there extremely enjoyable! The food was so tasty, drinks were great, we will definitely be back!
Great service! Lobster quesadilla was delish along with the brussel sprouts. Yummy cocktails as well.
