The food was amazing and the ambience was terrific, but it was Annette’s service that made our experience so wonderful and memorable! She very attentive and knowledgeable, the perfect mix of professional and friendly! We were celebrating our Babymoon and she knew all the right touches to take our special occasion to the next level. This was our first date night since March of 2020. It did not disappoint! The service was top-notch, and the food was the best we have had on this island (kona). We had the NY Strip and Ahi wok. Both had so much rich flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit.

Merriman’s was recommended when we took a trip to Waimea, so we booked a table. The staff was super friendly and the food was fantastic. We really like the local source approach and they have created some very fine dishes. We will return someday.

The farm to table is nice. Everything seems a little dated in terms of restaurants now a days including plating, food options and presentation. Could do a revamp. We splurged on all our dinners on vaycay and this was least memorable. That all being said I understand that in time of Covid everything is lackluster.

Food was great - fresh, local, well prepared. Service was attentive and courteous (how nice for a change!) Tasty. I had the special - ono - and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Only slightly less great was the soup - a bisque, maybe too subtle and a tad off flavored squash? But this restaurants celebrates the food producers and for that I would forgive such tiny things. I just wish it was not quite so noisy with Aretha Franklin in the background which did not add to the audible discomfort. But we came for the food, enjoyed the good service and left more than satisfied. Keep up the good work Merrimans!

The food was exceptional. Every dish was an explosion of fresh and delectable flavors. The Caesar Salad was the best I have ever eaten. The dressing was light, but evident on every bite the romaine was so crisp that it seemed it was picked only five minutes before it was served. The lamb entree was fantastic—Lamb chops and a lamb ragout with jalapeño mashed potatoes and grilled carrots—I wanted to lick the plate. And the side dishes—we had the buttermilk biscuits and sautéed mushrooms—were perfect additions to our starters and entrees. Our only regret was that we were too full to enjoy a dessert.

Great food and excellent service. The fish was perfectly prepared as was the beef.

I was especially appreciative of the service from Tom. He was outstanding! Our server last week left in the middle of the meal without turning us over to another server. I did not see her this week so maybe she had a challenge.

Request Tom as a server he's knowledgeable, fun, and gives you just the right amount of attention. Great wine recommendation and helped us celebrate a birthday in style. Thank you Tom!

Very good service! We were seated immediately. Very good COVID conscientious set up as well. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Food was excellent, pricey though so it will be a place to go on special occasions only for our family, but we will definitely be back. It was my birthday so I was given a complimentary dessert (the purse filled with chocolate) and it was outstandingly delicious! Overall a really great experience.

Wow! Wow! Wow! We’ve been coming here for 25 years and this was our best meal yet! Don’t even get me started on the octopus dish and the amazing server because I’ll never stop writing! Only place we eat multiple times (and schedule first) each trip!

It was delightful. Service was great and they gave my partner and I glass of cava to celebrate our anniversary. Every dish we had was amazing and all the drinks were on point. We had the crudo of the day (citrus components we great), mushrooms and biscuits (super buttery and flaky) as side dishes, and the lamb and New York steak for entrées. Perfectly cooked to medium rare. As for drinks we started off with a mai tai and she’so so Manhattan then paired the poliziano with the lamb and a banshee for the steak. Complimented each other very well. Dessert was a waialua molten chocolate purse with a tawny port to match. Would love to visit this again when we come back to the big island.

The menu selections were excellent leaving us with the problem of what to select out of several creative options. ALL the wait staff were exceptional and our waitress did an amazing job talking about each option - she was impressive. From the drinks to the salad, entree, desert, and coffee the meal was outstanding. We loved the entire dining experience!

Was disappointed not to have the Anniversary Recognized. List on Open Table, was mentioned at the Greeting with Hostess, but server never mentioned nor was there a desert or cookie in honor of the moment. Price is right on the cusp of "really" $18.00 for a 8"torilla with Kalua Pork, $4.00 per triangle. Portions were again right on the cusp of "6 oz" of Shutome for $24, "really? Presentation was nice and the flavors were complimentary to the dish.
Helped with the $9.00 Monday Mai Tai with the Pineapple Foam.

Another wonderful brunch at Merrimans. Had the amazing French toast followed by the Ono fish tacos and filet accompanied by their yummy caesar salad. Don't forget the brunch must haves bloody mary and screwdriver

The fried tomato croutons on the Caesar are amazing. The macadamia nut crusted fish was done to perfection. This is not just dinner it is an all out dining experience.

The restaurant does a great job of staging their reservations so the kitchen does not appear to become overwhelmed and everything come out promptly. The food and drinks were wonderful and despite the efficiency we never get rushed. A must visit if your travels bring you to the big island!

Last trip to the Big Island we were a little disappointed, but this visit made up for it all.
Classic Merman's service (thank you Tom) alert, and on top of it but not intrusive.
Food was wonderful, they're doing a great job while keeping us feeling safe going out to eat. Bravo.

We had lunch on a Wednesday and absolutely loved their eggplant vegetarian sandwich. At $14, it's one of the best values on the island and delicious to boot. While it does not come with sides, there are side dishes you can order a la carte. We enjoyed their Mexican corn on the cob. Their lilikoi (passionfruit) mousse has a terrific flavor and comes with light, crispy macadamia nut cookies as an accompaniment. Merriman's at lunchtime offers a relaxed yet gourmet environment which for us, combined with a stop beforehand at the lovely Waimea farmer's market in the Paniolo stables on Parker Ranch, was worth the one-hour drive each way from Kona.
