    This restaurant was our favorite restaurant on the Big Island. It definitely deserves 5 stars! The food was absolutely delicious… we enjoyed so many dishes… the smoked Taro hummus was so unique & delicious , the potato and corn chowder soup was so good that our son ordered a second bowl, the macadamia nut crusted fish melted in your mouth, my husband loved the prime bone-in New York. Be sure to leave room for dessert! Our server was so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was packed & it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves! We can’t wait to go back !

    The decor was simple but classy. All the staff were friendly, polite, attentive and professional. Our server David was great. The food amazing. I have had a lot of good food on my vacation but this was the best. David explained the menu and I was ready to order, he said a few of my favorites when telling about the foods for the day. Curried macadamia nut crusted swordfish and the soup mushroom french onion. It was like a cross of cream of mushroom and french onion- delicious! And served so fancy they bring the croutons in a dish and pour the soup in. The drink list was large and something for everyone. I will most definitely go back when I get back to Hawaii, can't wait to get into the dessert menu. Highly recommend, but there is a bit of a dress code. We wanted a nice dinner for our final night in paradise. Merriman's was everything I could of asked for and so much more. Thank you Merriman's for an awesome experience atmosphere and meal.

    Excellent food and service. Chef is amazing and our waitress, Katherine (sp?) was an expert. Highly recommended if you’re staying on the big island.

    Party of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids). The food was excellent from the fish specials to the kids' meals. As would be expected, not a cheap meal, but for us, we definitely got what we paid for (in the best way possible). Service was above and beyond. Servers, Somm and Maitre D' treated us like family from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. Both kids and adults left with full stomachs and smiles on their faces.
