Meriwether's Ratings and Reviews
I took my dad here for his 90th birthday, he and my mother used to go often when we were younger. The food was good for the most part. The potatoes were cold, the filet was a perfect medium rare. The waitress brought out a birthday dessert for him which was nice. I would go back again.
Dinner was very slow to arrive even though the restaurant was almost empty. Food was very overdone. The wonderful tea cup rolls they used to have are now just white rolls in a tea cup, although the butter spread was very good. Waitress was pleasant, but slow and didn't Costco back to see if we needed anything else. Overall, not a good experience, we won't be back.
Meriwether's is an excellent fine-dining restaurant. I have been going there for many years. I have taken customers for lunch, had birthday lunches and dinners, girlfriend lunches and drinks and appetizers. They have a diverse menu and everything is delicious, especially their "Teacup Bread," which is baked in a tea cup and comes standard at every table. Overall, the atmosphere is very elegant.
The food was good, the service was good, but we were put in an area where they have just varnish the tables and it ruined one of our friends sweater. They said that they would replace it if necessary. So we’re still waiting to see what the outcome was. They did not come up our meal though or do anything special they just said they would try to correct their mistake.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Merriweather's after many years of absence. With our OpenTable reservation, we were seated right away. We sat in the fireplace room which was small and became noisy after filling up. Amy, our server, was engaging and knowledgeable. The food was excellent - they even gave us extra potatoes instead of veggies. We will be back.
Our lunch was perfect, a wonderful balance of amazing food and service. They seated us next to the fireplace, which was perfect because it was a very cold day. Their warm bread, the bronzed salmon and the special of the day, blackened whitefish, were delicious. Everyone loved their food!
I had never been there before, but I will definitely be going back!
Very slow moving experience. Server was slow.Sat at the table for 10 minutes before he showed up. Food took forever. Bad ceased salad, no croutons. Buffalo shrimp app and bread very good. Dry prime rib and over cooked filet. No excuse, place was empty. Server blamed wait on kitchen. He probably forgot to enter our order also. Sat down at 2:30, left at 4:30. Much too long for just 3 people. Server terrible. Manager not dressed professionally. Will not visit again even though it's close to my mother's new house.
I had a group together for my Birthday and Renee was excellent with my group. Very attentive and professional and friendly, she gave us some of her favorites since we had never been there and I was happy I went with her suggestions!!!! Great night had by everyone in attendance all because of Renee!!!!!!!
We visited Meriwether's back in February. It was our first time dining there and my family and I truly enjoyed it. With Christmas quickly approaching, we threw some names around for our Holiday dinner. Meriwether's quickly became a finalist and the overall choice for this year. From the beginning to the dessert , we enjoyed the overall experience.
We had a holiday get-together, and this was a perfect setting for it with tasteful, festive decor. We enjoyed the roaring fire and the good energy of the restaurant. The Food was excellent, and the employees were friendly and genuine. We could not have had a better experience.
Honestly, this place was such a disappointment. First, is the lack of cleanliness. We were sat at a booth and I made the mistake of touching the wall ledge, it was white with dust and dirt. Gross. Second, it took 15 mins before our server greeted us. She was polite and did her best to accommodate us. So we looked pass the beginning experience. Third, my husband order a dish with muscles and shrimp both were over cooked and tasted old. After a few bites he couldn’t stomach it. It was sent back to the kitchen. Instead he ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. At least they can make a good salad. The manager actually tried to convince us they order shrimp that always cooks tough. Wtf? My dish was over cooked and bland.
Do not go there. Just awful.
We came here for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a 4pm reservation (which was super easy to book online) and were seated around 4:15. The place was quite busy.
They had the regular menu or you could order the traditional thanksgiving meal for $23.99, which we ordered. It started with their warm teacup bread and sweet cinnamon butter. Yum!
The main meal consisted of turkey (mixed light & dark meat), mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, cranberry and a slice of yellow squash. For desert you had a choice of pumpkin, apple or pecan pie.
The meal was delicious and plenty to take home for a second meal. The only negatives were that the squash was bland - I would've preferred something like green beans or some green vegetable. And there was only a tiny amount of whipped cream on the pumpkin pie.
The employees were all hard workers and very friendly. Even the ones serving other tables smiled at me.
They also offered free valet service which was nice. The valet turned on my heated seats.
We went for a Thanksgiving meal with extended family and the food was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly, and the service was great! Everyone in the group enjoyed the meal and said they would definitely do it again! Thanks to all who worked on Thanksgiving Day to make it such a wonderful experience.
Enjoyed dinner very much. Service was superb. Food was very good and represented a good value for the price. I liked the place and will go back. My one suggestion is to turn off the Muzak.. It does not fit the character of the restaurant . No background music is either needed nor appreciated at a spot that is quiet by design.
Our First and Last Visit, Our food was ok once we FINALLY gotten it, Which we had waited over an 1hr for. Our server seemed to be more concerned with the needs of those at the table next to us, seeing as though that's where most of his time was spent Even though we were seated first.
The Sea Bass special was outstanding after a tasty house salad. The atmosphere is cozy, country with enough space between tables that you can enjoy a great conversation over dinner without others over hearing. We will definitely come back here again. Valet parking is available.
Awesome as usual at Meriwether's. Food is excellent and the service is even better. A super comfortable atmosphere with personable smiling waitstaff...my family meets there every year to celebrate Dad and it's always a happy gathering thanks to Meriwether's effort. Cannot imagine this annual luncheon anywhere else:)
The booth seating was quiet and cozy for this special occasion. Donna was our server. Good wine selections by the glass or the bottle. Reasonably priced as well.
You will love the teacup bread that comes individually with each meal as well as the honey butter.
High recommendations for the squash soup - a seasonal favorite! It’s slightly sweet, a bit savory and garnished with a dollop of goat cheese.
