About Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm
One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Michael Delaney's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.
Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor fire-pit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening. Take a walk through our gorgeous all-season garden that surrounds the entire 2601 Vaughn Street historic building.

Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm Ratings and Reviews
i have eaten at meriweathers many times and always been pleased. i wanted to eat at noon or 12:30 but online i had fewer choices and was forced to pick 11:15 we stayed to chat for a couple of hours and at no time was the bar full. the music was quite loud and we asked twice for it to be turned down..it finally was..i was looking forward to the beet salad and was very disappointed..a few quarter beets lots of greasy greens ..the dressing was just oil..
also had the squash soup which was good but barely warm..water and iced tea was never refilled..in two hours we were checked on only once though there were only two other tables with people during the 2 hours. though i have eaten there often i will not eat there again..i paid $28.50 before tip...ridiculous
Food was good service was fine in the beginning but after we needed sometime to decide what we were ordering the waitress disappeared. This was some what fine until we needed our check and waiting for the waitress to run our cards. This took over a half hour and she didn’t come back. I took our cards and bill to the hostesses she then took it to our waitress. All the wait for her come around caused us to leave late for our 2:00 show of the Nutcracker and thus we rushed to our seats.
Enjoyed the ambiance next to the real fireplace on a cold evening. We were able to conduct a quiet conversation without being disturbed by the neighboring tables. Service was excellent with the server knowledgeably providing explanations and suggestions. The scallops and the Brussel sprouts were amazing with the sauces and seasonings used. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
We are frequent diners here and often bring out of town guests - but this brunch was particularly disappointing. First off, ask for, and wait if necessary for a table down the stairs in the room by the fireplace. The bar is drafty, cold and loud - I think that was our first mistake this time around.
Secondly, the Chilaquiles have changed drastically from a couple of months ago and not for the better. They were completely mushy, which was such a bummer. Third, the corned beef hash was intensely greasy, not from the beef - it was actually quite lean, but from the added oil to make the hash, also a bit of a bummer.
Overall, we will probably come back at some point - the back patio in the summer is lovely, but there are definitely places in town that are of better value and better food.
We'd heard a rave review about this place from a friend, and we were not disappointed. Actually, we were really impressed by the food & service.. easily the best of most all restaurants we've been to in Portland. Attentive, kind, funny service went with hot, timely, perfectly seasoned food. Most restaurants get it wrong in execution, and this one just rocks it. Thanks for the great meal!
As wonderful as the food and setting, it is the staff that made this ordinary dinner with friends an unforgettable event. Our waiter, Jonathan, was outstandingly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We obviously stayed later than expected, but were never rushed. We will be more cognizant of the time on our next visit.😄 Thank you for continuing to be one of favorite places for dining. This restaurant is top quality in every way.
Our lunch was outstanding from beginning to end - beginning with our outstanding server up to and through our amazing dessert and everything in-between. Both my companion and I had salads - me the grilled steak salad and he the duck salad and they were remarkable. Then we had the in-house Eggnog Ice Cream with a not to be missed cookie!
Beyond the warm and friendly atmosphere, the food is excellent. We started with the focaccia and mushroom risotto, one of the best dishes I've ever eaten For the main, I had the strozzapreti, another terrific course with tender ragu, mushrooms, and squash. My partner had the pork chops and she said it was the "best" she'd ever eaten. Tender and not over-cooked, surrounded by apple grits. Finished with creme' burlee. Good too. Very quiet inside with the real wood fire burning, open beams, lots of wood, and stained glass windows. Attentive and helpful fast service. Drinks superb! All-in-all, a terrific place that we'll go back to enjoy many times.
A delightful experience as always where soul-soothing, scratch made food was encompassed by admirable customer-centric service in a welcoming dining space. Given that we were there for a birthday celebration, it was a sweet touch to be seated near the fireplace to accent the overall experience. Thank you!
Meriwether's did not disappoint! We have had dinner several times over the last few years. The service is always impeccable. We enjoy the specialty cocktails, and appreciate that the menu has unusual items that are delicious without the being priced unfairly.
We reserved (we thought) for lunch, based on the on-line lunch menu. We were greatly disappointed to find that on Saturday and Sunday there is no lunch service, only brunch. The menu is totally different. Otherwise, the food we ordered (which was not what we looked forward to having) was okay, as was the service.
the 4 of us have met here annually for lunch. This time we did not think the food up to other visits. 2 had fish and chips, the batter not crispy and too thick. French fries also not crispy. Lamb Ragu was oily and very little lamb in the sauce. Quiche ok, a bit overcooked for me, side salad on plate didn't seem like fresh greens and not particularly crisp. Service was great but all in all , we no longer find it a good value. One reason we have met there is the fireplace, the parking lot is great ( 2 people come from Vancouver, a straight shot), but we are also desirous of good food and good value.
The food was superb, the salad the best ever! And I am not a “salad guy” according to my wife. Albeit many claim to be, this is really a farm to table place. Nice Happy Hour bar atmosphere too. Great for special occasions, but we are planning to return without one.
Great atmosphere and friendly and very attentive staff. DEFINITELY want to make reservations. The menu is small but gave a variety of different options, something for everyone. The Sunday brunch is busy but worth it. The best fresh orange juice i have ever had!
My wife and I arrived earlier than other groups that were seated in the same dining room, so we got the best spot in front of the fireplace, which was the perfect temperature. Our food and service was amazing, my water glass was refilled by the manager, who came around often to see that all guests were well taken care of. The food gets better and better each time I return, very nice experience every time.
A very nice restaurant. Service and food were excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Menus are apparently seasonal in design. The fact that they have their own parking lot was a pleasant surprise. It's something you don't usually find with an in-city restaurant. We definitely look forward to going back.
